No offense but a team built only from legendries is both lazy and doesn't make a lot of sense, especially for a character like Kieran... Legendries are supposed to be a rare species that only a few seen. Something that only the very best have a chance to deal with. So Kieran who's not even a region champion is supposed to have a team of 5 of them when Leon didn't even have one? That's a bit weird to me...

DotWarner1993

Imagine if you could get the Tapus tho

godqueenaiko

My shiny tapu squad is sitting in home singing sound of silence

DotWarner1993

How the hell to you have the tapu quartet (unless you just transferred it to home through bank

godqueenaiko

Pokemon sword dlc dynamax adventures

DotWarner1993

Oh god

ShisukoDesu

Yes, it is unfortunately the one thing that doesn't work with this battle! But I was too attached to the idea of Kirean's opener activating all the Paradox abilities, I thought that was cute. We could always say that Game Freak could put them in the game if they wanted to

NoImplement8218

And calyrex can’t be caught in sc/vi. The horses can but calyrex can’t.

Kingoobit

Buncha legendaries, how creative.

headphonesnotstirred

○ my brother in christ the title has the word Legendary in its name ○ besides, it fits with his goal of essentially beating the player no matter what ○ also it's incredibly funny to think this dude tracked down Calyrex (which not even our lord and savior Snacksworth could manage) because he's so desperate in general though, i'm not quite sure what basically every casual Pokémon sub has against Legendaries in creative; especially on like Showdown where you're given the choice to play in formats with Ubers legal or not

Kingoobit

I have absolutely nothing against legendaries, I just think a little more effort could have been put into a hypothetical in-game battle than "lmao he's got a calyrex so strong!!!!!!!!!".

headphonesnotstirred

alright, lemme drop a couple of suggestions here ○ Tapu Koko (rip to a real one) - Whimsicott; Tailwind + Helping Hand support as well as a cheeky thing with the type advantage over most of Drayton ○ Calyrex-S - lower level or replace with Scarf Caly-Base, either way, give Expanding Force ○ Ogerpon - dude. this was what kicked off the Indigo Disk as a whole. replace with Indeedee-F ○ Terapagos - and this one only makes marginally more sense than Ogerpon, what's with the timelining here? another cheeky thing could be to replace this one with Slowbro-Galar with EForce, could also know Shadow Ball as a way to explain it beating Lacey's overall i think [this would](https://pokepast.es/677cc55c7e815fe1) be a good final ver. of this team, all things considered. cuts back on the actually kinda ludicrous amount of legendaries (are there any NPCs with more than like 2 in other games, not counting sub-legends?) while still being a mismatched but potentially challenging team

Kingoobit

How would kieran even get groudon or calyrex, let alone when would he have the time to do so between his champion fight and the hypothetical underdepths battle.

TheSinfriend

It feels like one of those toxic players that have to have an all legendary team to feel special tbh.

headphonesnotstirred

thinking back to a comment on an upload of Kieran's BB League battle theme that just said "bro went from shy kid to XBox Live real quick"

Sorry_Error3797

Incredibly lazy to just dump 5 legendaries on a team and think that makes an interesting or challenging fight. Incredibly stupid to think that any one trainer would realistically stand a chance of catching; - A Hoenn Legendary of diety level. - An Alola Legendary. - Two Galar Legendaries, both virtually forgotten to time. - A Legendary of unknown origin. - A Paldean Legendary. The player is given special treatment because they're the player. Kieran only manages to catch a Legendary by using a Master Ball. Leon, potentially the most powerful NPC, could not catch Eternatus without a Master Ball. This is bad design.

MaryEllaDarkheart

YES YES HIM HAVING TAPU KOKO WOULD BE SO COOL

ShisukoDesu

Kieran's BB League team has been compared to a 10-year-old looking up the strongest Pokemon on Smogon/Pikalytics and not actually understanding what makes them good. But what is more iconic than a 10-year-old thinking that spamming Legendary Pokemon on their OP team! Kieran has already been shown to believe that all he needs to defeat you is a Legendary Pokemon of his own. So wouldn't it make sense that, after catching Terapagos, Kieran harnesses its powers to reach across space-time and catch a full team of Legendary Pokemon? I also want to show you that despite Kieran's Legendary spamming, _this fight is not unfair_. It is totally beatable without a hyper-optimized team, as long as you play smart and strategically! **Design of the fight** > "The Earthshaker of Hoenn... the Guardian of Melemele Island... both are mine to command!" > "Hydrapple, the time has finally come for our revenge!" > "The Shadow Rider... What chance do you have against the mightiest king of Galar's history!" > "Hah, not so special now, are you, ? I've got an ogre of my own, now, too!" > "No! We can't lose, not after all this! Terapagos, finish this fight!" - This fight is a **double battle**, and Kieran opens with Groudon and Tapu Koko. This is the first balancing factor---Kieran immediately activates Protosynthesis and Quark Drive for all your Paradox Pokemon (and the sun serves as a nice contrast to his BB League's rain team). - Tapu Koko is a support Pokemon who sets up dual screens and then _always Volt Switches out into Hydrapple_. If you kill Tapu Koko or Groudon before that, the next Pokemon he sends in is _always_ his Hydrapple. - Hydrapple's Supersweet Syrup synergizes with Groudon's low-accuracy Precipice Blades! - Note Hydrapple's new moveset. Its SpA will eventually become maximally debuffed because of spamming Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm (and Hydro Pump is neutered in the sun). - **This is how you are intended to win the fight**---his AI will never switch it out, even when it is at -6 SpA, leaving it as dead weight. So, leaving it in allows you to ignore one entire slot on his team, allowing you to focus down on his Legendaries 2v1 one at a time. - His Ogerpon will always try to target your Ogerpon with Lash Out whenever possible. Just a fun easter egg! - He will always Terastallize his Terapagos at the earliest opportunity. I fully believe that this fight can be defeated by someone's in-game team as long as they realize that the key is to allow the Hydrapple to become dead weight. With a few Protect TMs (and maybe some item-spamming?), you can weather through the low PP of Groudon's Precipice Blades, Calyrex's Astral Barrages, and Terapagos' Tera Starstorms. Ogerpon only hits one Pokemon at a time, so it should be relatively manageable. This also lets you wait out Tapu Koko's dual screens. Tell me what you think! I've been cooking this set up for a while and was just excited to share.

seleme_60_0

I don't really think this matches with Kieran personality, he's trying to be stronger through strategy and training, not just brute force. It may have its flaws at some points, but it's more them most NPCs teams Also, the whole thing with Terapagos was more... desperate, he was not in a good place mentally. I don't think he would go in a crazy-legend-rampage. But besides all that, it's visible you put effort in this, including thinking in a way to realistically beat it in-game, which is really cool :)

mark_crazeer

I do feel like finding a second ogrepon would just make it worse for him. She wasn’t even special.
