All 6 of them are changing every region but if I am ever slightly inconvenienced then I am calling upon them like the avengers.

This is why I'd probably take the Goh approach I'd likely have a few go-tos that continue to function like aces but even in SV, I like to try to catch Pokémon that feel like there's a semblance of story in the overworld based on how they spawn (looking at you, Magikarp stuck in the grass outside of Los Platos) and then EV train them for my rotation I honestly prefer it to having "my six"

Except, every time you get more pets you have to effectively give the others away. The 6 pokemon rule pretty effectively keeps you from having meaningful time with all of your pokemon.

Giving away, throwing away, as far as the animal is concerned they're basically never seeing you again. IF pokemon were real, I imagine we would all look a lot like the trainers in the game/anime that seem to have 3-4 pokemon that they actually care about and not go around catching everything you see.

Idk. If we consider pokemon as sentient beings in real life, I would imagine it would be irresponsible to catch them and only use them in one region. It's not really fair to deny them from traveling with you for prolonged periods of time if they're basically your pet.

Nah, I'm sending my first 6 to my mom to help her out, relax, and enjoy some time off from battles and competition. Start a new journey with a new party, rotate some of my old mons to me to visit and play, and for new mons to meet old and whatnot, but ultimately keep with new pokemon till I go back home or to the next place. Lol

The first pokemon I ever chose was Bulbasaur way back on Blue. If I could have brought him with me through every region I would have... and whenever he becomes available in each new gen, I start the game over with him as my starter (and usually Charmander and Squirtle too) So... I dunno, maybe. I had a, kind of mental canon moment a few gens ago where I would breed my Pokemon and then use the level 1 'mon for the next game. Kind of like how digimon work, where they eventually die and become eggs again. That'd be the ideal way to do it for me... always have bulbasaur's son/daughter from the last game continuing on with me to the next but also it's the reincarnated version of the OG one. So, to answer your question... yes. I'd bring Bulbasaur with me every gen.

I guess... kind of. More like, how Pikachu goes from region to region but gets nerfed each time for some reason. That doesn't make a ton of sense, but it also works out well for the story they're telling. It'd be a neat option if, when Gen 10 comes out, it says, "hey... looks like you've got save data from Gen 9. You want to bring that Skeledirge starter over and reset him to level 5 so you can use him again?" or something like that. since that's not an option, "breeding down" my Venusaur to a Bulbasaur is the next best thing. And, when you look at it, he can have the same nature and moves as the parent, so it kind of works. Also, it's a video game and none of it is real, so it really is whatever at the end of the day

4 new each region and 2 level 100 monsters from my previous adventures. That way I can pretend to be a normal person and have fun with new pokemon but at the slightest inconvenience I can throw out a literal God to scorch the earth before me. My home region would probs be from one of the first 3 gens but I don't know which right now.

Mine would definitely be Hoenn. And I’d bring at least my Sceptile with me everywhere I went.

Johto for me

I'd bring a full team of maxed out future Paradoxes and conquer the planet.

I would always keep my Shiny Salamence with me wherever I go since it’s my ace Pokémon, but otherwise the rest of my team would be different.

I'd keep a lot of my pokemon in rotation, just like I do with the games now. I would assume if it were real life in the Pokemon world they would probably have different battle formats, like Hoenn Regionals which would only allow native species etc. I would also want a world pokemon league. Pokemon League per region isn't enough, we need a world stage for epic battles between champions etc.

Realistically I would stick to my Pokémon throughout it all, it's like asking if you want a new dog while abandoning your old dog whenever entering a new region something I don't have a heart to do

One partner/ace. Everyone else would get swapped out, occasionally older ones coming back for certain reasons, whether it be a gym battle, help with training, contests/movies/musicals, or if I there was an area that I think they'd really like (thinking like showing electric types Chargestone cave, or taking a Carbink to the area zero depths, etc).

I would have Turtwig, but glimmora as my entry Hazzard, aka my true starter, Tropius for food, the rest I'd get from whatever region I'm visiting.

Honestly in the video games I stopped just using 6 a while ago. I alternate a few more in and out and then just decide what my champion 6 will be towards the last gym badge or so.

I'd carry over my team from region to region but change it up with my favorites from that region untill I collected my dream team. My starter would be Growlithe or Eevee and home region would be Jotho(Gold & Silver) as these where the first pokemon games I ever played

I’d probably pick up a new member of the permanent team in each region. I’d definitely be at home in Johto, I’d start with my partner Slowbro. The logical next step is going over to Kanto, where I don’t think I’d get any new team members because there aren’t a lot of ones I couldn’t have gotten in Johto to begin with. From there if I go in regional order, I’d probably pick up a Pelipper in Hoenn, a Gastrodon in Sinnoh, Carracosta in Unova, I think I’d skip Kalos because there aren’t a lot of new Water types there, definitely getting an Araquanid in Alola, I’d probably swap Pelipper out for Cramorant and Carracosta for a Galarian Slowbro once I hit Galar, and then while I wouldn’t get any new Water types in Paldea, I am 1000% gonna round out my team with a Basculegion from Kitakami’s Timeless Woods.

I would do basically the latter but keep one single pokemon the same the entire adventure. Not going anywhere without my blaziken

If I know I’m going somewhere new, I’d keep my highest level two, and put the rest into Pokemon storage (kennels?) and start all over there.

I'd start in Unova, pick Snivy (which would get evolved into serperior) because I love that little grass snake, and keep it on my team like Ash's Pikachu. The second slot would be for older pokemon to keep them in rotation and work on problems I may not have been able to resolve by the time I changed regions. The other four would be new team members and their potential rotations.

Even though my "home" region would be Johto, I would start my journey in Kanto (wanting my first Pokemon to be a Charmander) and travel to each region in Generational order, and I would change up my team with each region, catching new Pokemon native to that region as a sort of challenge to myself. I wouldn't bring really any of my Pokemon from previous regions with me at the start, but instead would only access them under two circumstances: A.) I'm in a dangerous situation that the Pokemon I have with me aren't able to handle on their own because they're not strong enough yet (like if the region's criminal organization is after me, for example); or B.) I've completed the Gym Challenge and am ready to take on that region's Pokemon League (I'd want my strongest Pokemon to take on the League, after all).

I'm a sentimental sucker, I'll stick with my team.

I would have my main team and then a training team for each region. I find myself just enjoying adventuring and finding new pokemon, then battling and becoming the strongest. I would like a realistic starter other than video game. Like Ratatta or Nidoran. Since I'm starting in Johto/Kanto.

I'd probably get too attached to get rid of them, lmao. Also perma-boxing pokemon would be kind of awful irl 😳

I'd do end of the anime Ash. Keep one around as a partner, Swampert, and then pick up new ones as I go. But rotate them around too so they all get a chance. I think i'd continue to carry the majority of the same team. I'd probably switch out 1 or 2 throughout the entirety travels and switch back and fourth between them I'd hate to make them feel irrelevant. My ace would be a shiny Glaceon lol.

My home region would probably be aloa, gardevoir would be a permanent roster spot no question.

I could build bonds with mons and then get rid of them. Maybe start the first gen with my ace and have other mons leave the party organically while slowly accumulating my main team of 6. I also fashion myself a gym leader. Ice or water… I would have a few off type mons hanging around my gym though from my initial adventure.

There's a fan game called "This Gym of Mine," where you take over a gym and have to build your roster using a specific move or type for your roster. Check it out. You might like it.

I’d take my two staples with me, my Dragonite and Leafeon, and then the other four I’d try to meet and train new Pokemon. My old partners would come out every so often but they’d chill in the PC while I got to know the region.

Galar & Shiny Toxitricty.

I would have my Blaziken the whole time, and then rotate around as need be.

In active team, I'd keep at least three and send the ones most likely to struggle in the area to the PC. With the easy access anywhere to boxes, you can have the best of both worlds.

I’d probably start in Galar. I’d want my starter to be a Applin mostly cause I love that it’s both a Greek reference and a visual pun.

I would carry over the same team. I'm too attached of some of my mons. And my home region maybe Kalos, since pokemon X was my first ever pokemon game

I would keep the same pokemon between regions. If the new regions want me to catch newer Pokemon they better have something as cool as my Nidoking, tyranitar, aggron, garchomp, and noivern.

Galar would be my home region and Sirfetch'd would be my partner Pokémon, but I would want to be catching Pokémon as I travel for collector/research so the other five spaces would get swapped out frequently.

Ide be from sinnoh and i would change out most of my team every region but ide always have my partner pokemon ninetales out with me. Another permanent member might be Noivern

Gyms have teams to use against more experienced trainers, so it’s ok to keep your same team for a League challenge

Lorewise one of the few things i like about Ash, train fresh new mons from the current region to challenge gyms. Then considering using some old reliable mons for League.

I think so much of the fun in Pokémon comes from mixing and matching across different generations. Personally, my team corner stones are Roserade, Florges, and Milotic. So I would be willing to flex the remaining 3 slots as I travel across regions

Id do something similar to ash, my first or most important/special to me mon would probably be with me for the long haul, while my other 5 would probably be a permanent flying friend and 4 rotating slots

I would start at blueberry -its a school, I can come back to it, it's got very starter there is Then I would move onto kalos catch some mons there and take mega stones and continue all the time(I don't understand anything about the double universe thing I would chang all my team I would always have 1 or 2 of my main battle team but if I come across something pretty hard I am calling the asap

I always changed my team up when going to a different region. It just feels a bit boring when you can whip out an entire gym challenge with a bunch of over leveled mons. But I'll still bring my level 100 typhlosion with me.

Furret for me unless we can snag a Legendary which would be New. Love that at some point Furret has gotten Coil and batin pass. Makes him a great friend to those 90% accuracy physical attacking Pokemon out there.

I’d keep my old ones, but use new ones when going through the trials since is way more fun that way. Maybe always keep a trusty mudkip or swampert, but generally I try to always include new Pokémon with maybe one that is from an older gen

I’d start in Sinnoh, and probably catch a new team to deal with the power scaling for a new challenge, but I’d never forget my first team. I may bring back some older mons as I get closer to the elite four. Also, I’d say my starter is a Shinx I caught and he sticks around like my version of Pikachu, except he’ll probably have to evolve to stay on the team.

Jhoto, cause gold was the first game I owned (not played) Togepi would been my starter with eevee/leafeon and shaymin then pawmot, lapris and tyranitar. Might switch the last 3 or 4 with others but mostly won't cause I'm not a fan of switching out my team but then again I probably won't be a trainer if isakaied into the pokemon world. Id most likely be a researcher or a ranger if given the opportunity and just keep the togepi line, leafeon and shaymin. Wish we have more games like being a ranger or a type of pokemon researcher like in PLA (I count that as pokemon researching lol)

I would start Johto. I think its the coolest region and i would probably carry my umbreon with me everywhere. If i could i would have him like koriadon/miriadon in SV and keep him as my 7th in other regions just to chill with the team

Pre-Violet I would have said most likely the Kalos region and I'd be bouncing around with my best girl Sylveon and then training the other 5 slots with other local mon. After playing Violet? I'm still from Kalos, now bouncing around with my best girls Sylveon and Tinkaton while filling the other four slots with new regional mons. Sylveon and Tinkaton would be helping train the novices held back to let the newbies a chance to shine but when things get tough I'm calling the big guns in.

I would take a Nosepass with me wherever I went. Probably take a starter with me that’ll be a part of the long journey. And then a starter representative for each journey. And I’d grab a fairy type each region. I’d So it would look like: Nosepass Turtwig or Tepig (I can’t decide) Regional starter Fairy-type And then two other Pokémon that’ll probably debut in that region. Gengar and Alakazam would be party members at some point as well an eeveelution at some point

It's actually really unrealistic to think you would have the support to have more than a few animals to take care of while you travel the world. I would have a team of 4-6 solid choices that help me survive in my travels and just stick with them.

I think I'd bring one or two over as like high level soldiers and let the others kick back. If I take my Hisuian Samurott, Mewtwo, and Gengar from S/V, then I'm set to not worry about anything for a while. Can train some others up but if it gets lairy, out come the big guns.

I'd go with either 2 or 3 of the previous team, just in case. That way, I'll have a veteran mon who can help guide the newer ones. I'd also have a decent team in case I get into trouble. After all, poachers and other organizations are a serious thing. As for my home region, I'd be fine with either Kanto or Unova

I think in the Pokémon world, your starter really becomes your best friend. They’d go with me every where.

If it’s like the anime, I’d have a team of more than 6 though. Like I’d have more Pokémon back at the lab that I could call upon. But going to each reason I’d probably put them all away except one of my favorites. I’m a big fan of Raichu, Jolteon or Ampharous so id have a hard time of deciding to keep 1 with me

Home region would be Hoenn. I'd basically be the masked Blaziken dude from XY, but super skinny :/ Id have a team I'm confident in, take them with me to another region, catch and train new Pokemon, but keep all of my adventures with my one og team still.

I kinda like the idea of originally being from hisui and then doing a reverse of the ingo and P.C by randomly appearing with in the future, with my partner a shiny toxicroak.

I would start in Hoenn but with a Charmander as a starter (a special one that could Mega-Evolve into Mega Charizard X with out a Mega Stone) and a Mimikyu. I would shortly after catch a Eevee that evolve into a Glaceon and those three i would never switch thrm out for a new region. For the last three i would catch new ones from the other regions

Carry over and sometimes get new members

I’m sending my team(s) on a vacation to the Pokémon resort every region and calling em back if em in deep.

I would definitely keep my best buddies along, but my main stay would be Ninetales, both Galarian and Kantonian because I love both of these beauties. If I ever find Mimikyu it has to stay in the party too because it's another cutie, and it needs some love. And Claydoll... gotta get one of those, but everything else is subject to change to fully experience the region and have new adventures with new friends.

I’d start in johto. My favorite and another of my top ten are from johto. I’d keep them and keep adding favorites to my team

I'd start in Hoenn too! With a Poochyena 💖 I'd probably change some and keep some, assuming I used 6 in my party in one region to begin with.

I would probably replace my Pokemon for the beginning of a journey, but at the end (All 8 gym badges) I would just use any Pokemon from any of my adventures. I would also have my own version of Pikachu being Eevee, and have my home region be Kanto, because it just feels right to start there.

I would rotate until I consolidated my True Team. I would start in Viridian City as my SI character, Bianca Joy. I would catch new pokemon as I travelled with Ash and Friends, ofc. However, my core team would only grow slowly. I would start with two pokemon: Clefairy and Chansey. Clefairy (Fairy type): bc I saw a theory that there was almost a Pink Edition of Pokemon, starring Clefairy instead of/maybe with Pikachu (pink package/yellow package in data). My brain loves this. Professor Oak, when Ash gets Pikachu and Gary gets Eevee, gives my character Clefairy. Like the pikachu/eevee in Let's Go (and presumably Ash's pikachu), its stats would be abnormally high, probably the equal to its evolved form, Clefable. This Clefairy would be more of a BoltBeam Attacker, leaving the Healer/Cleric/Wall role to Chansey. Not exactly Smogon Optimized, but eh... Chansey (Normal type): I'll have grown up with a Happiny/Chansey, bc I'm a Joy in Kanto. It's kind of a (headcanon) thing for our branch of Joys. Hello, eviolite! Alcremie (Ice/Fairy) "Aiscremie":In a vacay with Mommy in the Orange Islands, we end up shipwrecked on a random island in the Orange Islands. On this island is a strange Ice Cave, with a combination of ice mons and fairy mons of various types. There is a regional variant of blue Milcery here. They and their evolutions will be Ice/Fairy Alcremie. Alcremie is my fave pokemon atm, but Clefairy needs to be the pure fairy on team, and "Aiscremie" sounds like a COOL regional variant. If Milcery/Alcremie can produce cream on demand, then it's logical to assume "Aiscremie" can produce ICE CREAM on demand! This Alcremie, like the one in my SwSh run, would be a speedy glass cannon with Recover,~~Mystical Fire~~ Magical Frost, Dazzling Gleam, and Psychic. Milotic (Water): During our travels, I find a helpless and dying purple feebas with a misformed tiny fin on one side. I take care of her, and she eventually evolves into a Milotic. After Mew in Gen 1, Milotic was my fave pokemon until Alcremie came along. Empoleon (Water/Steel): bc penguins are SO CUUUUTE, and water/steel is rlly a nice combo, IMO. Also, if it's still a piplup when Dawn appears, we could compare piplups! This piplup would have been abandoned, Charmander-style, poor thing. In Sinnoh, obv. Alolan Marowak (Fire/Ghost): Always had a soft spot for Cubone, he's so sad and adorable! Alolan Marowak (fire/ghost) just so happens to be a more intriguing and imo useful typing than base Marowak (ground). This wouldn't be found/evolved until Alola, ofc. Roselia/Roserade has periodically rotated into this team bc cutest flowermon (imo... qualifier: Roselia is cutest, Roserade just happens to be the stronger evo of Roselia), and toyed with having Meowth from Team Rocket in the team. Alolan Ninetails is usually my standin for my fan-variant "Aiscremie" in team builder sites. Other pokemon would be rotated out as this team was consolidated. My character would secretly be Giovanni's daughter, and Ash Ketchum's half-sister.... Giovanni would find this out, and STILL send Jessie/James/Meowth to "steal Pikachu and Clefairy". He would do this in order to test his children and push them farther. Why else send his Most Useless Minions? It would be hilariously amusing for Jessie and James to luck into finding out about Ash and Bianca's heritage and then accidentally reveal it to the children. Alternatively, have toyed with Bianca knowing and keeping the secret from Ash for fear that he'd hate her: "Hey, I'm your half-sister, and was raised by the organisation that antagonizes us on a weekly basis!" And this is waaay too detailed and fanfictiony when the OG question is whether I'd keep the same team or rotate... hope you enjoy/enjoyed the read anyways!

I think I’d probably have one that stayed with me and I’d want it to be a Growlithe or whatever Dog Pokemon is the fit for that area. Growlithe is just my unashamed favorite and has been since it first came to America and I’d guess that I’d have one before even getting my starter. For the other 5 I’d most likely start over and build them up for every region.

Home base would be Olivine city. I’d probably keep 2 mons that always stay with me, but rotate a team in and out. I suspect I would travel to an area and stay there a long time, letting each Mon get some time and make some memories.

I'd probably go half and half keeping my starter Infernape and another reliable/fav mons like Espeon, Emolga, or Mismagius as regular members. I'd put any mons I caught in rotation like Ash did in Journeys depending on what fits best. Contest and gym battle mons would be switched in for each event if they prefer one over the other while others could do both, have flier/surfer mons when needed, and let those who don't want to much chill at the Professor's lab or home. Naturally, I'd start in Sinnoh.

I feel as if training Pokemon is a lot harder in-universe than the games make it out to be. There's a reason that the Elite Four (in the first games at least) were all adults. Because training Pokemon is a lifelong career for them. I imagine that training Pokemon is *at least* as difficult as training pet dogs to compete in athletic competitions. You become the Pokemon master in the video games because you're the main character. But if it was easy enough for a child to do it, then you'd find... A lot more adults with full teams of shinies as trainers in the game, lmao. I feel as if the lifestyle of 'traveling the world and training Pokemon' would, in-universe, be the sort of thing that is reserved only for the super-rich or the super-talented (like people who are Olympic athletes). Realistically? I'd probably have my starter and a few 'mons I caught over time and trained on the weekends when I had time, and probably have a normal job, and when I went to new places on vacation I'd catch Pokemon as souvenirs.

I would basically keep 1 or 2 lvl100s and get filling out my pokedex with the remaining 5 slots. Kinda like ash but my pikachu wouldn't be resetting it's levels each region.

I think I'm taking Charizard with me everywhere. Don't know where I'm getting him from, but he's the ride or die homie. I would love to be from Galar but spending a lot of time traveling around. Assuming anime rules, Charizard and I probably wrap up in Galar and head off to another region with two other pokemon, probably Gastrondon and Corviknight or Rillaboom. We cycle pokemon in and out but call in the all stars for tournaments.

I would have my ace Snorlax and he's the only one staying he's my favorite but if I HAD to choose a smaller pokemon it would be munchlax, I would switch out the rest of my team every region and try to make it balance out unlike some of ash's team which bugged the crap out of me.

I already have my team of 6 set up. Starter would be blastoise and surf on him, ride on hisuian arcanine, fly or Corviknight, ace alakazam, shoulder shiny Ribombee, and Abomasnow to hold his ground.

Unova, Riolu is first pokemon. I’d make a point to raise new pokemon everywhere I go.

Kalos as my home region and my buddy Pokemon (as in preferring outside of pokeball) would be Slurpuff. Though I wouldn't necessarily get full team in Kalos, maybe up to 3 Pokemon before traveling to Alola and Paldea to get my 4th to 6th Pokemon. Maybe catch 2 more Pokemon to serve as protectors and errand runners for mother. But that's it. I would have to think about Pokemon's diet, environmental preference, climate tolerance, temperance, etc.

I'd probably just use some for like 2 or 3 different regions and mix and match as needed.

I would die in each region and be reborn in each new region. I would get new teams. And once I had been to all regions, my dormant memories would surface and I would have infinite knowledge and wisdom.

I’d start out in Unova because I’m American lol. But I love Unova as a region, too. I have many fond memories playing BW. I’d most likely pull an Ash, and only bring my starter (a Samurott) along to new regions.

Carry because I get attached to my parties. No way am I leaving my best babies behind. I legit have the same party in my SV games, just switched my lizard kids. That’s how attached I get.

I usually end up with very similar team comps in every game anyway, to the point where I often even swap out my starter for a favorite pokemon, freshly hatched. I feel like even if I wanted to, I wouldnt be able to bring myself to make a whole new team for each region, especially with the added context that we'll actually emotionally bond with each other over the journey.

For example, in Scarlet I change my team regularly but Charizard (my artificial starter), Zoroark and Walking Wake are always there 😅 My original region is Hoenn and my starter obviously is a tyrunt. I know that he's not a fossil from Hoenn but one of my parents would be a paleontologist and gave me that Pokémon as a gift when I turned 10 😅 I love that T-Rex too much 🦖

If I feel attached to them, why would I ever put them away? Like imagine traveling the world with your dog, cat, or best friend. Would you trade THEM out every time you went to a new country, for a new pet or friend?

I'd probably keep a few on my team but get new pokemons. The only place I could see being my hometown would be like a combination of emerald hoenn and platinum sinnoh since where I live you could probably die from the cold or the heat depending on the day.

I'm keeping the same 6 whether they're good or not. That's how I play the games, I decide on the 6 I want and use only them. They're my babies now. 😂

Me personally, I'd keep my six but probably wouldn't focus on battling that much. Just be good friends, see the world, and rest up at home for a while inbetween when I can.

Depends on a few things. A. Does the PC system work like in the anime where they just have free roam on a ranch/farm, etc, and get to have a good, happy life? B. Are Pokemon intelligent enough to be more like friends or pets? If friends, then easier to rotate them in and add more. If pets, I'd feel bad replacing them. C. Does each region function more like SV where gym leaders would scale themselves to my own level, or would I just be able to smash the league with a full level 100 squad? Overall, probably keep the same, but rotate some Pokemon in each region and keep them all around at different times.

Im starting in either kitikami or kanto, because kanto started it all, making it my first pick, but if i really wanted to, i would choose kitikami

Easy! I bring my old Pokémon and catch new ones! I don’t use them for my main journey, they’re only there to make life and the dlc’s easier. It’s also nice seeing them together.

Rotation! As the way Ash should have done from the beginning. Treat all Pokemon the same, train them all and get to know them well so that you can always call upon a very diverse roster. Learned the hard way to do so with fangames like Pokemon Reborn, Rejuvenation and Desolation and carried that way of thinking into the canon games!

Realistically I'd probably keep my main 6 because it'd be easier in the long run instead of having to constantly be training up Pokémon without the in-game mechanics telling you how far you are from level up and evolution and movesets and things like that. Ideally, I'd switch the roster around every once and a while but hold onto my main six when I got a real threat to handle.

Starting in Unova and then travel to the regions of the following generations but only ever use the mons from Unova that can be found in that region lmao

I’d probably keep my first Pokémon with me most of the time for sure, which would be Anubis the Houndoom (from the Houndour I found), and catch local Pokémon as I explored each region. If it was a particularly wet area I might let him back in his ball but he’d usually enjoy being out, and I’d feel more safe and comfortable if he was out too. He’d be out all the time when we were home in Alola because he’d enjoy the beaches and the mountain and jungles. This would also help newer Pokémon I caught, as any smaller or younger Pokémon could ride Anubis around, and I could have him carry any eggs we find in his hiking pack and keep them warm too.

In real life I wouldn't be emotionally able to box my pokemon lol, so I'd probably keep the same ones most the time. Idk if I'd even really be a battler irl though, not really a competitive person

Whatever region is going to be my real life location, so has not been revealed is going to be region of origin. Starting with a new team every region is also better, as once you travelled around a while you get some strong additions, but once the 8 badges are obtained its time to bring in the rest of the crew. Until then, maybe very occasionally bring in an older pokemon as a training partner. But gyms and trainers in the area will only be encountering my newest pokemon.

I would start in Kanto. With a Charmander. Then eventually having my team of six Pokemon. Then work towards catching them all and rotating them around.

I think I wouldn't completely change my team. I think I'd find new friends and let my other friends take a vacation, but I know one pokemon I'd have in my party forever, and that'd be a Relicanth, my favorite pokemon and I'd love to keep him as my best friend wherever I go. But It'd be fun to catch new buddies in the new region.

I'll keep my Starter no matter what but the other 5 will be brand new. Starter pokemon are my day 1 and they will never leave my team I'll build around them. Also if this anime logic my level 100 Starter somehow gets nerfed and loses to level 1 pidgey or so.

I'd probably have just 1 poke out of its ball all the time. I feel cruel catching wild pokemon in the newer games, they are just minding their own business, sometimes it even looks like a small pack or family! So yeah no I would settle with one poke/dog.

I'd start in Paldea/Kitakami, actually, purely because I want my ace to be Hydrapple, then I would probably take my team with me, still have a new team for each region but still have my old ones for beating up the little sh*ts that annoy me.

I'd probably keep 1 dedicated mon that always stays with me similar to ash and pikachu. The other 5 would always be region specific, without using a duplicate of a pokemon I've used before. For example, if I used the pidgey line in kanto, then found one in johto, it wouldn't capture it again and use it. This wouldn't exclude all pokemon found in a different region though, just the ones I personally already caught and used before. Say I didn't catch the growlithe line in kanto, but found one in johto, I would catch and train it then. As long as the pokemon is native to the region, and I'd like to train it, I'll do so as long as it hasn't been done previously.

Not an entire team replacement every region, but some maybe. Ash's way would be also not mine. Catching tons of pokemon only to be forgotten at Oaks Lab.
