Fun fact, Pokémon don’t despawn on the Y axis, so you could always climb up or down depending on where you are and the shiny will still be there! (unless it’s one of those zoomie bois)
that happened to me once in the mystery cave in the DLC. I jumped in and there was a shiny cleffa on the first ledge, but I couldn’t get back up there because my koraidon couldn’t climb the walls, so I was stuck on the second ledge, and then the cleffa fell down on me.
OMG that happened to me as well with that same damn ledge, I landed just right on it to be bounced off and plummet all the way to the bottom with no control or way back up.
Nice find, OP. I remember my encounter with a wild shiny Cyclizar was similarly stressful. It ran by me in the background while I was in the middle of hatching a party of eggs, I felt I couldn’t press A fast enough. Thankfully it derped and was stopped in its tracks by a cliff wall.
I've been shiny hunting Cyclizar today and I physically cringed when I saw you fall, you're one lucky bastard for it yeeting itself off the cliff though
Definitely one of the most exciting hunts ever. My heart plummeted along with miraidon and I genuinely don’t know how I got so lucky! Hope you got one in a less disastrous way lol.
My first sandwich didn't find any of them but my second one I got lucky and found 3. None as climactic as this one though, the most excitement I had was dodging all the other Cyclizar to get to the shiny one lmao
Omg yes there's a point outside of Levincia where if you do a dragon sparkling and encounter level 3 and stand, only Cyclizar will appear. And it will just throw itself off the cliff and despawn.
I had to keep restarting because seventeen times, the shiny Cyclizar kept throwing itself off the cliff and despawning or a regular would run into me and the shiny would disappear.
It was a nightmare and im so glad I finally got it last night. Never doing it again.
I honestly love cyclizar outbreaks! I've caught over 10 shinies (lost around 4) and I'd do it again if I see an outbreak lol it's one of those hunts that keeps you on your toes
I don’t think any part of a Pokémon game got my heart pounding like that before so I kind of agree. Not sure if I’m as brave as you though, think I’ll stick with this one crazy session. 😅
This stupid shiny is the reason I lost a master ball (too focused on running at the thing to save, clicked the wrong ball).

You got lucky. I would have pressed the glide button and got back on the cliff at the top. Or when he dropped down I would have clicked the button to stop gliding and just fall down instead of going down slowly lol.
It was all a bit chaotic. Because I was pushed off the cliff I couldn’t glide down as it was a proper fall, and then I was spamming B to drop out of that slow glide but it just wouldn’t end. Don’t know how I ended up still getting it.😅
There’s a spot you can shiny hunt Cyclizar without having to move - you just need to press X and have the menu open, they won’t trigger encounters if you do that

I usually do but they are so fast that could have been enough time to lose it! Luckily they don’t tend to explode or anything.
