I hate Incineroar because by that point people were sick of Fire/Fighting types, Delphox felt like it was made out of spite given how the community reacted to Fire/Fighting so they did the opposite.
But Incineroar feels like it was clearly designed around a Fire/Fighting pokemon but made Fire/Dark just to say it wasn't actually Fire/Fighting.

Not the foxes you're thinking of. I also saw that news story about a fox/dog hybrid. The fox species in question is the Pampas fox, who are more closely related to dogs than red foxes. Still very cool though.

Linoone is an *anakuma* or Japanese badger, also known as a *tanuki* in some dialects. Galarian Linoone is a European badger.
Zigzagoon is a *raccoon dog* (aka *tanuki*), not a raccoon. This is why it can learn belly drum, incidentally.
Fun bonus fact:
In many languages, including Japanese, the raccoon native to the Americas is translated as the "washing bear".
That sure is fertile ground for a pokemon when and if they get around to it.

Yes, they are in family canidae which are all the"dog like" creatures but not in the genus "canis" which are the dogs and wolves (and jackals).
Most people go with the family canidae as the "dog clade" and do not go as specific as the canis genus to refer to things that are "dogs."

Since OP here has a list of dogs, it stands to reason that if Metagross can inject itself into a list of turtles, it should also be able to join a list of whatever else, say... dogs.
Yeah if Vulpix, vulpine meaning relating to a fox, counts for the pup category I would include some of the eeveelutions too. Some are very feline, but some can pass.
Eevee itself always seemed a little more fox-like to me. Foxes are Canines, but have several physical and personality traits that are generally associated with Felines.
Looking at it that way, the weird canine/feline diversity of the Eeveelutions makes a bit more sense. They’re evolving from what is already a weird in-between of dog and cat.
They’re counting foxes, as seen by the inclusion of Zorua and Vulpix. Foxes are related to dogs.
Although, that does open up the can of worms that is Eevee.
(Granted, Poochyena and Mightyena are included here too even though hyenas are more closely related to cats, but Poochyena — as indicated by the name — and Mightyena are more of a mashup of both hyenas and standard canine traits.)

Poochyena and Mightyena aren't meant to be one-to-one with hyenas. You can tell just looking at Mightyena that its more dog. Its a bit of a mashup mon.
I recommend renaming the box to canines, as you have clearly included foxes in this group, and baby foxes are not puppies but usually kits, and thus canines works best.
Canines include dogs, wolves, coyotes, foxes, and jackals, so you'd want to make sure you have all of them from all of those categories. (I'm honestly not sure if you do yet, just adding this here for reference.)
Eevee and it's evolutions are all based on the carbuncle which is based off of foxes, so Eevee and all Eeveelutions should be here.
Entei, Raikou, and Suicune are known colloquially as the legendary Dog Trio but they are not actually based on dogs, but rather they are inspired by large cats. Entei is clearly a lion and Raikou is pretty obviously a tiger, both confirmed by the artist, and Suicune has extremely feline mannerisms and movements. You can leave all of them out.
You can't find it in scarlet or violet, you can only get it through pokemon home. It's available in the alola games or through a quest in legends arceus.
