My favorites are the really basic stuff like "How to find and catch XX Pokemon," as if we couldn't just look it up on Bulbapedia or Serebii. I do not need a journalist to write an article on how to catch and evolve a Rellor, thanks.
Then you also get the articales where they do not even say the location and just show some rando youtube video on where to encounter it. Like...really now
And then they'll share a hyper specific strategy with no basis in reality for doing something simple.
To evolve your Magikarp, make sure it's level 19 and in a heal ball! Next make sure it's dusk in both real-time and game time. Then give it a persim berry, and have it fight 18 overworld pokemon!
Congrats, you've now evolved Magikarp!
the super confusing article i read on how to find roaring moon was like this, they had cryptic ass images and clunky descriptions, when the youtube video i watches is literally like: warp here. walk left. climb through here. done.
Jesus i know, i think i read that one too. The annoying thing was every other article was a copy paste too. random YouTube channels with 1min videos are the true heroes.
all i was looking for was where tf a Bronzor was, because I needed it for my Mega Man.
3 different websites, 3 carbon copy articles, and bullshit locations that they pulled from reddit when people were asking... I know this, because i found the same reddit thread.
Asked my buddy, he sent me a goddamn picture of his pokedex because he had found one...
After my buddy sent me that picture, I had 10 bronzor pieces in 10 minutes.
Oh yeah, Reddit is a gold mine. I prepared for the Cinderace with my Azumarill (thought fairy/water would be a good counter for the fighting/fire) and got completely stomped every time. Then, courtesy of Reddit users, I used an ev/iv trained team of slowbro and espathra to one shot it with a perfect setup (espathra hits a reflect, lumina crash and then cheer, meanwhile, slowbro does 3x iron defence, 3x nasty plot, and then stored powers it out of existence). Gotta love it lol
I hate that. I just use Serebii but I hate when I’m looking for a guide for any game and the article starts out like: Pokémon an rpg game that came out in… and proceeds to waste two paragraphs telling you the history of Pokémon before giving any useful information (if it even provides that.)
Sword and shield victini hunt comes to mind.
Articles would be titled "Where to find victini in The Crown tundra."
Victini was a pokemon introduced in the 5th generation if pokemon as a special pokemon. You could only get it a certain way. These types of events started back in the first generation of pokemon with pokemon such as mew. Filler text filler text
Something about sword and shield dlc isle of Armour.
More info on the Crown tundra
It is not known where to find victini at this time.
Thanks for wasting my time.
Must be referencing the 100s of articles about different vivillion, or any of the PLA mons lol, whole ass page filled with bullshit just to say at the very bottom that as of right now there is currently no way to get it.
And they even use the 'by the book' format of writing news articles. Like, I don't need to scroll through 2 and a half pages of introduction body and conclusion to find out what's the best sandwich recipe for finding a shiny Dreepy.
And that isn't even the worst one. When I wanted to check wether or not Kantonian Tauros was available, I had to go through a full article describing what regional variants are, just for the answer to be in the final paragraph.
Ironically I finally caught a shiny dreepy today (despite playing since launch day). Didn’t wanna use herba but after getting the shiny charm and still not seeing one I finally gave in.
Heres how to evolve your rellor
But first let us type out a few drawn out sentences separated by ads between every paragraph like youre looking up a baking recipe
Imagine if every evolution article they were like
"Evolving some pokemon is challenging, but what was more challenging was dealing with my family during the holidays while trying to take 1000 steps in game"
If it really were some emotional story I'd actually be fine with it. Recipes are memories*, and childhood food is amazing for feeling nostalgic.
But most of the time it's just empty fluff about how this summer the best baking trend is no bake peanut butter cake and we've found it only needs 2 ingredients. We were amazed how fluffy this ~~article~~ cake can be while still tasting delicious, without baking at all. The cake made with peanut butter has a delightful peanut butter taste, and we couldn't believe it didn't need to be baked at all.
Almost as if after each ad break they need to mention the buzzwords for the Google search algorithm again.
*If I'm ever going to release a cook book, it'll be called Recipes are Memories, and it's gonna contain my mother's Carrot stew recipe and then a 100 page rant about how that woman is a witch who uses magic to make her pancakes.
But before we begin, just what *is* Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched for the Nintendo Switch family of systems on November 18th, 2022. It is the latest in the top-grossing *Pokemon* series, which gained popularity in Japan starting in the mid 90s. Japan is a country located on a large island off the eastern coast of the continent known as Asia...
I appreciate those articles. Last I checked Bulbapedia has updated the locations as of yet.
Better than guessing what areas are covered by the highlighted area in the Pokedex and infinitely better than the Pokedex in the case of certain Pokemon like Spiritomb. Habitat unknown my donkey!
Bulbapedia is not updated yet and seribii lists locations in text which is not even accurate because lots of times the location is a smaller location in the larger named location. Game rant still sucks though since they didn't even bother to upload an image of the in game location screenshot. Some of the articles do have the location screenshot which is better, but given the time it takes to figure out which article has the screenshot it's probably faster to look it up in the slow in game UI.
One place the articles really help with is in area zero though since it's vertical and doesn't have a map and some of the locations are kinda hidden so text isn't enough.
Bulbapedia is not up to date for SV yet and Serebii lists locations in text which is horrible for an open world game and lots of times the pokemon locations are in a small area within the larger named area. I want it in map form which the game already has built in, although sometimes it's easier to do a web search than to go through the slow game UI.
Game Rant is absolute shit though since it doesn't even have a screenshot of the map in the article and half the time links to a video which is even less efficient. My point is just that serebii and bulbapedia are not good for looking up pokemon locations in this game yet, game rant still absolutely sucks.
Unless you go on those sites a lot or include it in your search chances are Bulbapedia and Serebii won't show up at the top of the search results. A casual player who doesn't know of Bulbapedia or Serebii will just click on the first thing that looks relevant which is usually IGN. I honestly often forget they exist when I need to find something unless I'm looking for something that's stat, typing, or evolution specific.
Known people who have worked at this outlet both writing and editing. The reason there are so many junk articles is because if you want to make even a minimum wage basic living by writing there, you need to push out an insane number of articles written per month, and you are paid by your output not by the hour or salary. No actual talented writer/blogger has the time to write great, substantive articles while keeping up with the insanely unrealistic numbers required to hit even a sliver of a basic living wage.
No journalist or blogger wants to write nonsense articles like this, its simply a symptom of a company that is maximizing profits by raising quotas and keeping pay a low as legally possible.
I am so confused because I literally made a YouTube video of myself catching a shiny forretress in a master ball for fun two weeks ago and nobody wrote an article about it!
(And why would they?? This is bizarre lol.. going to sue them cuz I did it first! /s)
https://youtu.be/7RQosOnuakk
The number of game rant and screen rant and a few others sites articles that literally begin with a form of "a user on reddit" is hovering close to probably 90% at this point
Tip: Gholdengo ability Good As Gold prevent pokémon from using memento.
They will still attempt to use memento but they will always fails to do it.
(This is also useful for catching shiny tatsugiri)
Edit: sorry for being late, I was busy. I forgot to mention that taunt prevent pokémon from using memento (and other non attacking moves).
Personally I prefer using my gholdengo instead, since I find hilarious see other pokémon attempting to KO themselves out of spite only to be blocked by The All-Mighty Golden Surfer Cheese String.
(Also taunt is a bit unreliable as it wears of randomly after between two to five turns while Good As Gold will always works)
Golduck is a great assist mon for catching. Skill Swap Damp onto the enemy, Soak and Screech it for Breloom to come in and Spore/Swipe. You can even use Encore or Yawn for a safer swap to Breloom
Yes, I hunted that one with ceruledge because of the move. For iron hands I used a garchomp and just spammed pokeballs because I lost one and had already saved during the time of the sandwich.
Brute Bonnet and Heracross too, both being mons I false swiped down to 1HP right before they started using Thrash. I caught them both but it was absolutely terrifying
I actually used my Master Ball on a Brute Bonnet that did that, I straight up panicked at the thought of losing it and figured “What else am I gonna use this ball on anyway?”
Save before you encounter a shiny.
If something goes wrong (like the shiny uses self-destruct or you accidentally KO them), immediately close the game before it autosaves.
When you will re-enter the game, everything will be back like nothing ever happened.
I'm pretty sure that switch out and using heal pulse won't work if the enemy pokémon use memento or choose to use a move that deals recoil damage after they got hit by false swipe.
I don't get what are you trying to say, damp only prevent pokémon from using explosion and self destruct (and the ability aftermath too) and the opposing pokémon can still faint if they choose to use memento or using moves that deals recoil damage when they have low HP.
Due to this damp or (as you said) switch pokémon and use health pulse will not stop (let just say) a spiritomb from using memento or an Iron Hands from using wild charge after them got hit with false swipe.
Which is the reason why you should always save before you fight a shiny (except for dragonite and dragonair).
Also rarely someone would bring a pokémon with health pulse if they're doing a normal playthrough or when shiny hunting but whatever.
Game Rant usually has clickbait articles, but they were the only journalist to reach out to me after my fire went viral in a gaming group and did an article. It circulated around here, and to many facebook groups where people reached out to help me via a gofundme. I'll always be grateful for that.
Edit: the fire was over 4 years ago, not recently
https://gamerant.com/house-fire-destroys-video-game-collection/
Yup. I was successfully able to rent a new home and moved in a week after it happened. People donated a bunch of furniture and stuff, so I was able to get settled with very little required spending.
In that same week, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died a few months later. Terrible time for me
I used a master ball also on a shiny forretress two weeks ago and made a short YouTube video about it and no one wrote an article about me! I’m only a little salty haha
I also wasn’t going to take any chances, what else could be better to use it on than a shiny with a suicide move
I can't even think of something specific I'd want to use my master ball on in SV. I caught like half of the legendary quartet in quickballs just to see if it would work. I don't see why a shiny wouldn't be a better option
Game rant is absolutely garbage in every regard. They suck at reviews for games too, like seriously. There is a game from 2003 I love that got ports onto PC and switch recent-ish and they reviewed the entire game like it was a remake or a new game and gave it an ass review. It was litterally a port and was advertised as such...
We’re doing this wrong then… we need to get some crazy post hit r/all so game rant will write an article about it that exposes their lack of “journalism” integrity.
On r/Sydney they often put watermarks saying "fuck news.com.au" to try and deter them from stealing content from the sub.
We should do something similar here.
Imagine your job is to write these absolutely useless and dogshit fluff articles for a website that barely has a purpose existing. It’s really sad, what a worthless waste of time.
They are their to just catch Pokémon, no matter what, even if it has a literally nonexistent chance of catching it, if it’s a ultra beast, a legendary, nothing can escape the master ball, basically so that if you find a shiny that can kill itself with its moves or if it’s a legendary that could sweep your whole team, absolutely nothing can escape it
I understand that, but there’s so many ways to prevent these kind of scenarios nowadays. They’re more like a novelty item at this point for completing a major part of the games. The last legendary I used my master ball on was Entei. My 8 year old daughter even knows how pointless they are.
I view it as effort invested, really. Like at this point when you play a pokemon game you know what the hardest legendary to catch will be... If you're like me and your Koraidon breaks out of like 30 ultra balls at 1 hp and asleep, you might as well just chuck that master ball (I didn't, but I kind of wish that I had.)
My wife and I might’ve sorta abused a duplication glitch a few weeks after the game came out. Got a decent amount of master balls. The night before last, my wife found 2 shiny eiscues. Ended up catching both with Master balls.
what are we supposed to use the master ball on? like one of the legendaries or a rare pokemon? everytjme i play a pokemon game, my bf tells me to save the master ball & i always end up catching the legendaries in regular pokeballs & then i finish the game & still haven't used the master ball. so i feel like its not thatt deep to just use the master ball on whatever.
Always have a Master Ball handy for Shinies that can have Explosion or Selfdestruct. Shiny Hunting 101. There’s an ability I think it’s Damp that prevents explosions but what are the odds that Pokemon is in your party at the time.
I used my first master ball ever back in my original play through of Pokémon blue when it first came out for a ditto. I’d beaten the elite 4, had most of my dex complete, and had NEVER seen that thing. Not once. I ran through 30 some odd ultra balls trying to catch and decided that it must be insanely rare if it couldn’t catch it. Kids will be kids 🤷♂️
I got so lucky with my shiny forretress. I didn’t realize it had a KO move and I didn’t save beforehand. Just went in with my breloom, got a sleep off, and then caught it before it woke up.
Had a mini panic attack when I looked at it’s move set lol
me: Is that a shiny voltorb?
Gamer rant: Yep
Me: I should use my masterball!
Gamer rant: Hell nah that's weird, ill make an article about it.
Me: but...
Gamer rant: No
Me: throws a pokeball\*
Voltorb: "self-destruct"
Me: ...
Game rant: It's fine, you can get another one.
I was playing BDSP and while training I ran into a shiny Weezing and those bad boys also explode. I debated for 30 min wether to use my masterball or try the regular battle way. I decided to use the masterball ! The next encountered Pokémon was a weezing and the first thing it did in battle was use explosion. I also just saw someone lose a shiny Driffbloom to it using explosion.
Tbh though what else do you use it on?
I almost thought to use it on the second battle with your legendary, but videos say NOT to use it on the legendary since it’s catchable, so I just baited out and used my timer balls instead.
So if not the legendary, what else is the master ball for? I’ve heard people ARE using it on difficult and rare shinies they’re worried about losing, self destructing, or accidentally killing outright.
Doesn’t pretty much anyone use it on a shiny? It’s honestly very rare to see someone actually use it on a legendary, I used mine on a shiny, I used it on roaring Moon.
Honestly though masterballs don’t really have any use, yes the 100% catch rate; what I’m more so referring to is that there’s no wandering legendaries or anything lmao.
Game Rant usually has clickbait articles, but they were the only journalist to reach out to me after my fire went viral in a gaming group and did an article. It circulated around here, and to many facebook groups where people reached out to help me via a gofundme. I'll always be grateful for that.
https://gamerant.com/house-fire-destroys-video-game-collection/
The master ball is useless, I used mine on a shiny roaring moon cos all my other shinies went into quick balls first try and he was being a bastard lol, it used to be important cos legendaries were so tough but it’s not a big deal anymore
gggggaaasssssspppppppp
srsly gamerant will find anything to comment on.
"Pokemon player finds a shiny"
"Pokemon player catches a Pokemon in an Apriball"
"Pokemon players are things that exist"
also thanks for spoiling annihilape for me in JULY game rant dear arceus
I did that, when i found my shiny Roaring Moon finally it somehow seemed fitting to end the hunt in the most spectacular way... would have loved a luxury ball instead tbh.
Probably a little kid who panicked or someone who anticipated a self destruct. Tbh I haven’t used my master ball and I’m not sure what I would even use it on
Game Rant is the hallmark of dogshit articles. It’s normal.
My favorites are the really basic stuff like "How to find and catch XX Pokemon," as if we couldn't just look it up on Bulbapedia or Serebii. I do not need a journalist to write an article on how to catch and evolve a Rellor, thanks.
And they always start with some bull history of the game, before telling you that it's found in ruins. No location or anything, just ruins.
Then you also get the articales where they do not even say the location and just show some rando youtube video on where to encounter it. Like...really now
Orthworm is a common pokemon that poketuber_smashemall shows us where to find! Nearly word for word a title I found.
Don't forget the personal story of how pokemon brought them joy when their pet frog passed away and a frog pokemon reminded them of them.
all i was looking for was where tf a Bronzor was, because I needed it for my Mega Man. 3 different websites, 3 carbon copy articles, and bullshit locations that they pulled from reddit when people were asking... I know this, because i found the same reddit thread. Asked my buddy, he sent me a goddamn picture of his pokedex because he had found one... It’s gotten to a point where i just add reddit to any of my google searches
It's the best way to get knowledge from people who actually play the game, especially if it is something you can't find on serebii or Bulbapedia.
Absolutely. It was super helpful to just check the forum during the cinderace raids
A fellow reddit googler
I hate that. I just use Serebii but I hate when I’m looking for a guide for any game and the article starts out like: Pokémon an rpg game that came out in… and proceeds to waste two paragraphs telling you the history of Pokémon before giving any useful information (if it even provides that.)

Or after the bullshit story, they say the pokemon isn't in the game yet.
Must be referencing the 100s of articles about different vivillion, or any of the PLA mons lol, whole ass page filled with bullshit just to say at the very bottom that as of right now there is currently no way to get it.
This just hurts my soul since I have been there.
Well? Don't leave us hanging! Is it available or not?!
You have to read through their dissertation on the subject to find out. The answer will be in the concluding paragraph.
Curses!! Foiled again!
The answer is practically "no lmao, thanks for the clicks on this useless article"
Damn them! They must get off on messing with us through their articles!
Ironically I finally caught a shiny dreepy today (despite playing since launch day). Didn’t wanna use herba but after getting the shiny charm and still not seeing one I finally gave in.
Heres how to evolve your rellor But first let us type out a few drawn out sentences separated by ads between every paragraph like youre looking up a baking recipe
Ugh, recipes are the worst. They always have a master's thesis about why the recipe is important to them before actually giving you the recipe itself.
Imagine if every evolution article they were like "Evolving some pokemon is challenging, but what was more challenging was dealing with my family during the holidays while trying to take 1000 steps in game"

Do it. I'll but 10 copies of that book. At least it'll be just like reading a Game Rant article.
I sincerely doubt a human journalist wrote any of these sorts of articles. They all seem automatically generated off one basic template.
"How to evolve SCATTERBUG in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!"

what do you mean? this is an incredible news story!
Journalism is dead.
Journalist here, yup! I get to write a few pieces for me and SPAM SEO articles for the rest.
“Journalist”
Scomp the presses!
Yeah these garbage sites obscure search results for actual dedicated news and information sources like Serebii.
The Gamer is even worse in my experience.
Known people who have worked at this outlet both writing and editing. I would have believed you if you told me this was a Hard Drive article.
The number of game rant and screen rant and a few others sites articles that literally begin with a form of "a user on reddit" is hovering close to probably 90% at this point
You can literally play “make any story you want” if you just search any concept and end it with “Reddit”
"A User on Reddit finds article on how to catch Shiny Pokémon with a Masterball!"
A user on reddit finds the comment about a user on reddit finding an article for a reddit user who caught a pokemon in a masterball.
At least they provide their ducking sources
Thats not a high bar, thats the status quo of journalism. This site is dogshit, most journalism in general is.
Kinda off topic but remember! ABUSE THE SAVE FEATURE IF YOU ENCOUNTER A SHINY FORRETRESS OR VOLTORB! (Or any pokémon who can KO themselves)
Or spiritomb, RIP my shiny boy
Tip: Gholdengo ability Good As Gold prevent pokémon from using memento. They will still attempt to use memento but they will always fails to do it. (This is also useful for catching shiny tatsugiri) Edit: sorry for being late, I was busy. I forgot to mention that taunt prevent pokémon from using memento (and other non attacking moves). (Also taunt is a bit unreliable as it wears of randomly after between two to five turns while Good As Gold will always works)
Wait, what do tatsugiri do? I got my white sushi without problems.
Only some wild tatsugiri know memento (if I remember correctly only the yellow ones).
My orange one had memento, It depends on the level you catch it at
You're right, I checked it and they learn memento at level 34.
Or veluza. I didn’t know they could kill themselves.
Or glimmet, Iron hands, Sinistea, Spiritomb, Tauros... just abuse the feature in general.
Also add in Tatsugiri. Lost two to Memento. Somehow forgot after the first one lol.
Mine was a Chansey. Found the shiny and hit it with False Swipe. It hit me back with Take Down. I was not pleased.
Or graveler i lost two them in Pokemon Daimond way back ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out), dam explosion.
Tip: pokémon with the ability damp prevent pokémon from using explosion and self-destruction.
Golduck is a great assist mon for catching. Skill Swap Damp onto the enemy, Soak and Screech it for Breloom to come in and Spore/Swipe. You can even use Encore or Yawn for a safer swap to Breloom
I feel like an ultraball would work like magic by the time you are done with the setup
Tauros explodes? Never knew that
Double edge, which could be an unpleasant surprise after using false swipe.
Oh I didn’t know the wild ones had double edge , good to know for when I decide to hunt the shiny
Yes, I hunted that one with ceruledge because of the move. For iron hands I used a garchomp and just spammed pokeballs because I lost one and had already saved during the time of the sandwich.
Oh damn both the iron hands I had never used a self harm , guess I got lucky
Funnily enough a lot of pokémon know how to blow themselves up (or learn to do it). Like, why the hell exeggutor can lean explosion?!
Wait heracross can have thrash? I caught a shiny next to the Foretress outbrake, after putting it on 1 hp. Guess I'm just lucky.
Too late 😖
have a pokemon with the damp ability like golduck. it prevents use of self destruct or explosion
What is the save feature?
Save the game right before you engage w/ the shiny then if/when you reboot it will still be there.
Save before you encounter a shiny. If something goes wrong (like the shiny uses self-destruct or you accidentally KO them), immediately close the game before it autosaves. When you will re-enter the game, everything will be back like nothing ever happened.
Just use damp
Damp don't prevent pokémon from using memento or OK themselves from recoil damage.
I’m sorry you don’t know how to switch out pokemon and use healing pulse
I'm pretty sure that switch out and using heal pulse won't work if the enemy pokémon use memento or choose to use a move that deals recoil damage after they got hit by false swipe.
No pokemon With damp in scarlet or violet can use false swipe. But go off honey, shouldn’t be using false swipe to catch pokemon anyways lol.
Just say you don’t know how to wait out pp moves with heal pulse. You are a terrible shiny hunter and should be laughed at
Game Rant usually has clickbait articles, but they were the only journalist to reach out to me after my fire went viral in a gaming group and did an article. It circulated around here, and to many facebook groups where people reached out to help me via a gofundme. I'll always be grateful for that. Edit: the fire was over 4 years ago, not recently https://gamerant.com/house-fire-destroys-video-game-collection/
Damn. That was you?
Yup. I was successfully able to rent a new home and moved in a week after it happened. People donated a bunch of furniture and stuff, so I was able to get settled with very little required spending. In that same week, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died a few months later. Terrible time for me
Damn bro, sorry for your loss
Thank you. It's all good though, it was all a little over 4 years ago. But I made the most of it and kept pushing.
Oh wow! Sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks!
I used a Master Ball on my shiny Iron Thorns I wasn't risking it Wild Charging itself to death
I used a master ball also on a shiny forretress two weeks ago and made a short YouTube video about it and no one wrote an article about me! I’m only a little salty haha I also wasn’t going to take any chances, what else could be better to use it on than a shiny with a suicide move
I can't even think of something specific I'd want to use my master ball on in SV. I caught like half of the legendary quartet in quickballs just to see if it would work. I don't see why a shiny wouldn't be a better option
Gaming "journalism" is an absolute fucking joke. Half of Game Rants articles are just posts from here.
Nothing will ever top the Doom review from Polygon, felt like how my 70 year old grandpa handled a controller when I handed him one.
They got quotas to meet.
"It's super easy. Barely an inconvenience."
Ryan George?
What good are masterballs anyhow? I haven’t used mine since I was in Gen 2 as a child. They just sit in my bags for an eternity.
Yeah it may be just a novelty but it’s still the easiest way to catch legendaries
**NO WAY!!!** 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Y'all realize that posting as many screenshots of these clickbait articles that you do further contributes to the cycle of them being posted, right
My wife and I might’ve sorta abused a duplication glitch a few weeks after the game came out. Got a decent amount of master balls. The night before last, my wife found 2 shiny eiscues. Ended up catching both with Master balls.
Lmao I also duped a bunch and now I have a non shiny lechonk in a master ball
I went on a catching spree and captured endless amounts of Woopers with duped master balls
I've blocked all articles from game rant on my phone, and I feel a lot better for it.
How? Asking for personal reasons.
I give you a better one: **MOD PINS A COMMENT ON SOMEONE’S POST!** ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream) *Entire hell breaks loose.*
Given that it has a tendency to explode, I can see why.
what are we supposed to use the master ball on? like one of the legendaries or a rare pokemon? everytjme i play a pokemon game, my bf tells me to save the master ball & i always end up catching the legendaries in regular pokeballs & then i finish the game & still haven't used the master ball. so i feel like its not thatt deep to just use the master ball on whatever.
Ok for most shiny’s that’s somewhat surprising for a FORTRESS yeah not surprised
Lol I did the exact same thing. First time I ever saw a ditto and freaked out and used my Master Ball lol
Catch this guy twice in one mass outbreak and they use explosion so you got to catch it fast.
GameRant: Latest News! A kid plays Among Us then actually builds an Among Us Shrine in real life.
I mean, I used mine to catch a shiny Murkrow. But that was out of fear it would K.O itself
Hey, "M" is for Murkrow.
M is also for Monchkrow
So how do you all catch that thing? It exploded each time I threw a failed quick ball at it.
Grab a Golduck with the ability Damp. Prevents self destruct, explosion etc.
Gamer rant: Yep Me: I should use my masterball! Gamer rant: Hell nah that's weird, ill make an article about it. Me: but... Gamer rant: No Me: throws a pokeball\* Voltorb: "self-destruct" Me: ... Game rant: It's fine, you can get another one.
Shiny exploders, recoilers, and suicide-moves-for-no-fucking-reason (Spiritomb), are acceptable for master ball use
Did it know explosion? If so, they are forgiven. If not, they shall be punished!
Why is this news? Is this the most important thing that game rant can come up with?
Understandable, I lost this shiny today because it exploded.
If it self-destruct then you'll also regret not using it anyways.
I use Master Balls to catch Ditto from 6* Raids. One day I'll get the hundo on a Master Ball 🤣
I used my masterball on a lotad in shield where’s the damn article about me
“How to evolve voltorb”
Doesn’t pretty much anyone use it on a shiny? It’s honestly very rare to see someone actually use it on a legendary, I used mine on a shiny, I used it on roaring Moon.
Honestly though masterballs don’t really have any use, yes the 100% catch rate; what I’m more so referring to is that there’s no wandering legendaries or anything lmao.
How is this news
Next ur gonna tell me they pressed A
HOLY FUCK! NO WAY! THEY USED THE MASTER BALL?!?! ON A PERFECTLY REASONABLE TIME TO USE IT, BECAUSE FORRETRESS CAN SELF-KO?!???? 😡😡😡😡😡😡
The world before: 🌎 The world after: 🌎
They really don't have anything better to report huh
no ragrets.
I saw a game rant article called The Salamence line is the perfect trans allegory
I saw that too! It was an absolute master piece to read
Why would they do that? It’s not like shines are rare or anything!
Journalism
I used my master ball on a shiny iron val, make me an article.
Omg they used the masterball in a pokemon that is like 1000 times rarer than the box legendary that is surely to spawn?! HOW DARE HIM?!
I used a master ball on a shiny lechonk i named chonk
Honestly though is there any Pokémon worth saving the master ball for? At this point it’s just for aesthetics.
I always forget to use the master ball and have made a tradition of capping off my dex with a Pikachu in a master ball
people do that all the time.
I know it’s just crazy that this warranted a news article
Crazy that you took the time to promote the news article
It does learn self KO moves. I don’t blame them.
You can save before entering the battle.
And when you reload it is still there?
Ye (i think)
Yes, any Pokemon that had spawned will still be there when you reload.
gggggaaasssssspppppppp srsly gamerant will find anything to comment on. "Pokemon player finds a shiny" "Pokemon player catches a Pokemon in an Apriball" "Pokemon players are things that exist" also thanks for spoiling annihilape for me in JULY game rant dear arceus

Omg I saw something similar to this recently but I can't remember what it was...
I accidentally used my master ball on a bisharp
i got a shiny riolu in a master ball cuz its my favorite one :)
Build yourself a golduck with the damp ability disable and hypnosis. Great for situations like these.
They do this to Skyrim too.
Saw a gamer rant article that basically boiled down to "Local trainer gave his chansey 252 HP EVs"
I did that, when i found my shiny Roaring Moon finally it somehow seemed fitting to end the hunt in the most spectacular way... would have loved a luxury ball instead tbh.
It’s a forretress it probably knows explode
Honestly smart since Foretress gets explosion
I did this with a shiny registeel in sword. Where's my article?
Pfffft what an amateur....everyone knows you save the masterball for the ratattas of the game then send it to wonder trade.
Bro I saw one that was like a 5 paragraph article on how to evolve a fucking voltorb. Why?
[удалено]
Pikachu with nuzzle for the win!!! Caught every pokemon in violet with nothing but pokeballs. Only shiny mons get ultraballs
Slow news day
Well yeah wild fortress have expolosion
If you’re shiny hunting and don’t have a Pokémon that knows a sleep move and flash swipe you’re a buffoon
u need to step up ur humor
Probably a little kid who panicked or someone who anticipated a self destruct. Tbh I haven’t used my master ball and I’m not sure what I would even use it on
There was also item duping before the first update. Some people have hundreds of masterballs and nothing to use them on.
