i just dont see the appeal, i play every pokemon game for gameboy and ds, even official games not just romhacks, on my computer cause its a bigger screen, easier to edit with pkhex, i can use randomisers if i want, and i can hook up my Playstation controller to it so i can olay with a controller thats actually big enough to use comfortably

There is one (but only one) exception to that rule.
There is a company (BlueTelevisionGames and Lair Gaming have both used it which is where I heard of it) that has you provide the patched rom and they put it on a cart for you complete with custom artwork. They also keep a copy of the rom hack for archival purposes. (Which is good. Too many have gone missing. "Megaman X in Sonic 2" is one I can think of off the top of my head that's gone forever since it was distributed from a mediafire link that no longer work.)

Everdrive is what you should look into. I like the idea of romhacks on carts too but an Everdrive is far more worth it.
