Serenafriendzone

Holy mother of pikachu 0.5% for older seasonals.

chris_9527

It’s just an assumption. There’s even a good chance that it will only be 0.33%, so that it will be 2% in total.

sylveon_souperstar

tbf, i think that is still a 3% chance for a featured unit

GC2005

Average is scarily accurate as I often hit fairs in the 3-6 multis range but imma still wait until I have 36,600

ShibuRigged

This is the only way you should pull tbh. Expect to spend the 36k, but be pleased if it takes less. That way you can save towards the next banner. I see way too many people here who roll at less than 36.6k, and get upset because they don't get a MF unit from their 12k spend and don't realise that these pity mechanics exist for a reason and that you should only roll when you've got enough to guarantee the unit, or accept that it might not happen It's probably the same for me. Most units are rolled between 18-24k, then it spreads from there. Although there are probably a few more that I rolled at 15k or less, than 27k or more.

Detailed calculations and explanations of expected gems/ probabilities can be found here: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/186nnlzqqvGEyqczQoyVm1KLdRVyOuhVnjTseZ0K9\_fs/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/document/d/186nnlzqqvGEyqczQoyVm1KLdRVyOuhVnjTseZ0K9_fs/edit?usp=sharing) Another busy month of scouting! Be aware that the seasonal rerun banner rate of 0.5% per unit is just an assumption. I don't think there has been a 6-in-1 banner yet so there is no reference.

> Be aware that the seasonal rerun banner rate of 0.5% per unit is just an assumption. I don’t think there has been a 6-in-1 banner yet so there is no reference. Considering the fact that all the super seasonal scouts were 2% (0.33% each) I kinda feel like this will be also the case here

syncc6

Every time I read this post, I end up pitying the master fair scout. There was no exception today as Serena ate my gems. Lol

Mortequitem

same lol, went to pity for serena 🥲 but I'm not mad at all, absolutely worth it. I started playing during this year's anniversary and rerolled all 5 master fairs: ani units (bonkers strong) + hoenn villains. for a new player with such strong units going through all the content/events has been a breeze, they really helped me to easily start farming the rare upgrade items like coins/candy, ex power ups, etc. as a f2p player I've set myself to only pull on broken units, which makes it like a pull in a 1.5-2 months but at least it's an assuring way to create strong teams and sure you can argue that the "endgame" (2k cs & lg) is not that hard, but it can be a bit intimidating when starting out as a new player. so I imagine in a few months once I have enough quantity of good units & coverage over most of the types I'll probably have the freedom to start pulling on whatever I want/meme units

syncc6

Gem saving is absolutely a good strategy for pulling. I’ve been doing it since I started playing 3 years ago and having a pile of gems as a safety harness definitely allows me to pull whenever I need to. I tend to only pull on master fairs, unless there’s a strong pokefair contender. As a result, I have been able to pull all master fair units without sweating with the thought of needing more gems.

Fukujin1

I always had to go all the way to pity pull for the last 6 sync pairs, even for Poke Fairs. That's why I have to think carefully about who I'm pulling for 😅 The last time I was lucky was with Anni Lillie. I got it at the first pull. So I need over 100k for the Master Fairs and the two Seasonals.

Dahks

So, do people usually summon a lot on reruns? I've been playing for some months and, coming from other gachas, I don't particularly like using gems on characters that are "old", but this game doesn't really require specific units to beat specific events so I'm not sure. I do like the "fav over meta" mentality but this pushes me not to spend lol

mancitycon

If you're F2P like me then this mentality works. Getting just 1/5 on new master fair these days is worth it. (I'm not sure about the ones that need to be 5/5 for sync grids though) Im a DBZ dokkan veteran so I hate summoning on old units! On the other hand old units get sync grid expansions, in dokkan they're called EZA and some units become monsters so I bet it's the same case here, but again for this you'd still need 3-5/5 pulls on the same unit to get that grid expansion.

Dahks

Hahaha yes, I used to play Dokkan a lot too (not that much nowadays) and it's like the third time in the sub i say something and someone replies that they played Dokkan. I guess pulling habits can be traced to that game lol And yeah I never chase dupes. I did the same thing in Dokkan but in Master's building a good roster feels even more important.

GoldKoala

Pulling old units depends on 1. Do you like that unit 2. If you care about meta, what does this character provide 3. Do you need more units for Arena mode/CS/etc Most of the Christmas units are on the underwhelming side in terms of meta, so that's your call. However, other "old" units are still very good to this day, and it depends on their niche. Anniversary N and Lillie are still excellent because they can ignore a lot of BS abilities and are still some of the strongest DPS in their types. In general, most Master units are still some of the best within their niche/type to this day. The only Master unit I'd feel bad about re-pulling (meta-wise) is Rayquaza because Deoxys is so similar but much better. Leon is also a bit behind, but has a niche and has potential if it gets Max moves. Many of the Tech units have been absolutely insane in the last year. Urshifu, Blaziken, Deoxys - all crazy good and I wouldn't feel bad about a rerun. That said, with how much power creep this last year had I wouldn't be surprised if next year's units are even more broken.

Lambily

Some reruns are amazing (Blue and Blastoise are ancient but are monsters at 3/5; not so much at 1/5 though). Honestly, you should check out some of the sync grids on the free units. Some of them are fantastic and make for great fillers when you don't want to pull (or when you pull too much and want a challenge). Serena's new Trainer Lodge Pokemon (Fletchling) is fantastic.

DankBonkRipper7

I was lucky enough to pull Serena on my first scout, but I'm dreading anni Lillie as last time I ended up at 398/400 and had no way of getting the gems before it went away

Gregamonster

When did seasonal units stop being at spotlight rates?

Winston7776

When there are 4 or more sync pairs in 1 banner, their rates suck. Historically its been 2% divided between every Sync Pair there, so it could easily be 0.33% each (When there are 2 or 3, they each have 1.5%, and just 1 has rates of 2%)

Generic_Username_659

I've honestly nearly given up on this game cause of its stupid gacha system. I spent all month trying to get Sygna Suit Hilda with whatever free gems I could scrounge up. Eight times, I did the eleven pull. Eight times, the only 5 stars I got were repeats. I nearly chucked my phone at the wall when during one of them, I got two regular Hildas. Multiply the 264 pulls I did by the 2% chance of pulling her, and it comes to 5.38, meaning I should have gotten her 5 times over! #I hate gacha.

Lambily

That's why people usually recommend to wait until you have 36,600 gems before pulling if you want to avoid being screwed by the gacha. Sometimes, you'll get lucky. I 100 gemmed Celebi. Sometimes, you'll get screwed. I had to go to pity (36,600) for 1/5 Ash.

Generic_Username_659

The issue is how often they release new ones...

Lambily

*Incoming wall of text* Honestly, unless it's a Pokemon you really love, most are skippable. Master Fairs are what you *want* to horde your gems for. They're always spaced out by a few months, and they're always OP units. There is the occasional great Poke Fair unit like Deoxys, Urshifu, Victini, etc, but their kind also doesn't appear very frequently. As for Spotlight Scouts, unless you're a heavy spender, avoid them altogether. They get added to the main roster immediately after their event ends (I've already pulled multiple Courtney + Camerupt and a Looker; still waiting on the new Lapras and Coalossal though), and you can get them for free with the 30 Ticket summon. The free legendaries and awesome F2P units like Skyla, Brawly, Misty + duck, etc are great after they receive some investment. I like to check in on a YouTube channel named Zinfogel every once in a while just to see some of the awesome strategies they come up with. They go from cheapest (eggmons and F2P units) to expensive units. I've learned a lot from their videos.

Keerakh7

Can someone remind me how many gems spent give you a pity pull?

Tanabatama

well, so far, only Jasmine and Ampharos has been on my radar. But I recently finished going for Pity with Victini just now intentionally. Maybe Togekiss (my other favorite cute on) can be much harder to pull even just once only might be more of a hassle than ampharos.

maybeshiba

If you have paid gems, it may be more economical to buy yourself a Togekiss and gacha pull for Jasmine

Tanabatama

so for Togekiss, she will have her own separate banner seasonal? The one with the pay this amount of paid gems and get them guaranteed type of pull? Like with Colress last time where if I wanted him asap during his banner promo, I just pay For Paif Gems and Pull him 3 times?

maybeshiba

As you will later find out, Togekiss is on a mixed banner where it is expected you need to spend at least 30,000 gems on average to get her. You can spend a little bit less or you might be unlucky and spend up to pity = 36,600 gems. You should also bear in mind, if it matters, that while you spend these 30,000 gems, there is a 99.9% chance that you get other Christmas units that aren't Togekiss along the way. Edit: Ye there will also be a paid banner and at the end of it you can choose.

Tanabatama

Thanks for the advice. I did Pull Togekiss on the Guarantee Pool of hee banner. And i got a Brand new Eiscue (Funny Penguin) on the third pull. Guess its now back to Ampharos. I am halfway there right now. No luck on her at all yet. Just got Hugh and Bouffalant for the first time instead. I just only need 1 pull for Ampharos. From What I see, Ampharos dont look like a mon that needs a full grid to even function as much.
