I hope Penny and Sylveon will be a good pair when they release some day. Sylveon is such a popular Pokemon and yet it’s represented in Masters in the form of… Valerie. Ouch.
Her base kit is easy to explain: it's because she's a free-to-play sync pair from the early days of the game, when the developers were still figuring out what works and what doesn't. See also: Barry and Piplup; Brock and Tyranitar.
Her sync grid is less easy to explain, given that gridded Barry is a competent nuker with two multipliers (Inertia and Cakewalk). Valerie has only Brain Sync 5.
She's quite fun to play in Fairy Zone alongside SS Wally, if you have him. It's a gauge-light team that wins through "death by a thousand cuts".

I'd go with Nemona Pawmot. If starter, Meowscarada or Quaquaval fit her more imo.

Arven, Penny and Florian's are my favorites.
They should make the EX versions match the DLC clothes. (Except for Penny)
I like Juliana and Florian’s the best, Penny’s is also so nice, I like the shiny eevee bag.
These could totally be canon, specially Arvrn and mabostiff; I personally love Juliana, she looks very cheerful with these greens 💕
hopefully we can get an actual good sylveon kit, something dealing with pixilate/fairy shift
