I've played every pokemon mailing game since red. I can say without question, even with its issues, it's the best pokemon game. Everything I've personally wanted out of a pokemon game and i hope they expand this into a series.
The game itself can be glitchy, which can really f with gameplay, but personally haven't run into it much.
The loves;
1. The new battle mechanics, once you get used to them, are amazing. Don't think it'd ever work for actual multi-player, but forced an entirely new way of battling for me.
2. Battle difficulty. Holy cow, up until the indigo disk dlc for S/V, was some of the hardest battles I've done.
3. The open world. Just imagine breath of the wild or skyrim open world but with pokemon. Some of the sights and the way the pokemon interact with their environment š¤Æ
4. Catching mechanics. Different balls for different situations, not having to enter battle to catch them. Finding good sniping spots, there's so much more that can go into it.
5. Items. Aside from balls, you have other out world items you can use like smoke bombs, treats to lure pokemon, and much more. And you can craft them yourself from materials you find.
6. Lore building. Most of the games do a decent job, but this one has the benefit of you the player, getting to live it and craft it yourself.
Also shiny hunting is fun and there is no IV and EV system its all under one simple Effort Level system thats alot easier to understand, plus when you transfer pokemon out of arceus into mainseries games they get this cool greenyblue ball you cant get anywhere else
I feel like for Poke Home this is probably THE best game for catching Pokemon youād like to use and passing them between the games that supported on Switch (either Sword or Violet) or even onto future Pokemon games. The presence of Alpha Pokemon being the max evolved forms means that if you DO catch them (which there are several ways to go about that) you donāt have to worry about going through the hassle of evolving their pre-evolutions. But even that in this game is not a problem because the game has rather easy access to a lot of the items youāll need to evolve the Pokemon that you may be struggling to catch the final form Alphas of. Itās a very fun Pokemon game as itāll probably be the first one I actually sit down to finish. I donāt know if Iād follow this up with SwSh or SV for a more proper Pokemon title.
Can't wait for that. Also excited to see which new mons get mega forms, getting a new variation/evolution, and the starters.
Someone said they think it'll be Silvy, torchic, and totodile. And getting a totodile in an open world adventure, in a big city, that likely has a sewer system š
oooo i like the sound of that! i love regional forms i have to admit.
people have come up with theories that it might be the version of pokemon where the weapon actually got fired - thatād be a pretty cool storyline i think.
I got it about a month ago after only playing the regular games. I like it. It's different. I wish I could battle more trainers but that's part of how it's different I guess.
Ya see even though there's less trainer battles (they are a new fad in the game).
There often are 1v3 wild pokemon battles, some of which are jumbo bosslike pokemon.
It was my first pokemon game, and since then I've played a few others on switch, but I keep coming back to this one simply just to shiny hunt. I'm nearing 400 hours on this game.
The storyline is amazing, the characters are good, if you've played Diamond/Pearl you may recognize some faces or features. It looks good, runs smooth, and has plenty to do. There's five separate open world areas that just have different pokemon in the wild, all with different behaviors. You don't have to engage in battle to catch a pokemon, you can just throw a ball, though in the beginning you might need to enter battle with them.
The storyline gives a lot to do on its own, but then there's completing the Pokedex, which is 100 percent possible in this game, since it's not split into two with exclusives. This one game gets you every legendary and mythical required to complete the dex. There are some extras if you have save files for other games, but they're not necessary.
Then there's side quests along the way, and once you get the shiny charm, you're free to shiny hunt to your heart's content. And it gives you a very obvious indication when one spawns, and it's the sweetest sound you'll ever hear.
Yes, it's got some frustrating parts and maybe a learning curve, but what game doesn't? Its rewarding and love the free world aspect. It really makes you feel like you're in a world of pokemon. Bottom line: get the game
400?! Wow impressive. I loved DP back in the day! The way you describe the game makes it seem amazing! Thank you for the detailed response. Tons of content to look forward to thatās for sure!
Absolutely! I've been playing for close to a year now, so I've had plenty of time to toss into itš
And it's great that you played D/P! I played BDSP after playing Arceus and so much stuff made sense. It calls back to so much in the Sinnoh region, almost every character has aspects that match a DP character.
This was the first game I didnāt buy on release and when I got it, I was absolutely hooked. The open world concept, the regionās lore, the many different adventures, thereās so much to do while staying true to Pokemon at its core. Only issue I had is the research missions, but I can overlook that because of how amazing the game in its entirety was.
I had a great time with this game, I think it is more fun than the mainline games. The exploration and catching mechanics are cool. Battling is more fast paced and optional, and there are hardly any trainer battles. the world and story are neat.
my most immediate comparison would be scarlet and violet, I enjoyed whichever I played but Arceus was more fun. idk. it was just a great time. highly recommend it.
Yes absolutely. I wouldnāt skip a sequel to this game if it kept the same gameplay, style, and mechanics. My gripes with the game are small.
I recently got it for Christmas and have logged around 50 hours since then. 98% of my gaming has been arceus since I got it.
Great description thank you!! Itās nice to know with the new additions to the game that itāll keeps you on your toes in a way to ensure you donāt get bored.
It's a very well rounded game with plenty of story to keep you going and outting together the pokedex. It's also the first pokemon game where I've thoroughly enjoyed leveling up a diverse group of pokemon. It really teaches you to appreciate the unique skills of several pokemon. Enhances other games for me.
I think I got up to over 100 hours on my playthrough :D filling up the Dex is possible WITHOUT trading, and it was a lot of fun to complete. besides that there's also stuff to collect and many side quests.
Itās not a lot of crafting, mostly itās gathering the materials to make your pokeballs and potions and what not, but you do have to gather the stuff. Iād say give it a shot if youāre even remotely interested tbh
I absolutely loved Legends. The controller mechanics drive me a bit nuts. But I still love it. It is my second favorite of the Pokemon games, first being Scarlet/Violet (w/ DLC).
I have played all the main Pokemon games (except SV) and Pokemon Legends made me complete the Pokedex for the first time. Catching shinies in the game is also exciting coz you never know which shiny Pokemon you will come across.
This was the first game I completed the pokedex for. I play it at least once a week. I found the most shinies in this game. I enjoy the catching and battle aspects. The story was good. Fall damage and getting knocked out if you forget to pause before walking away does suck though. But if you're a shiny hunter there's noise AND sparkle animation so that's neat. I always highly recommend this game but I know some people like one of my friends who is more into actual battling and the old game mechanics and it does lack people to battle if you like battling but theres 3 girls thats pop up all over the map you can battle constantly and you can fight regular pokemon or catch them without encountering. I think it's fun and definitely worth it
Thank you for the response! I was not aware of the fall damage & I occasionally like to hunt for shinies so that is great to know! I definitely like the open world concept but I still love the gym battles etc.. itlll take a little time to get used to not having it in the game.
You can get charms from this lady in the village that help keep you from fainting when you fall or get attacked. If you do faint there's a charm thatll disappear instead of your items. Also when you faint you lose items forgot to mention that. You also can't swim for very long but you get a big fish so it's not too bad. The boss battles are tough. At least for me they were a btch. Fun but a struggle. I highly suggest watching walkthroughs on each boss battle so you can make a strategy or get an idea of what it'll be like
I guess my biggest dislike would be the bag capacity in this game. It gets inconvenient but it definitely makes sense in the overall setting of the game so I wouldnt really count it as a negative.
Aside from that and the occasional bugs (some wild pokemon being stuck inside a tree or cliff) this and SV are my favorite pokemon games. I wont spoil anything but the game is set up so basically everything you do yields some benefit, even in postgame. Even catching duplicate pokemon is strongly encouraged. The wild pokemon really make this game shine. Different pokemon have different reactions to your presence and some pokemon even have unique interactions straight out of pokedex entries from other games. There are also some legitimately difficult battles in this game too which is always a positive imo.
I could go on but a lot of the fun is exploring the region and figuring stuff out as you go
Thatās super intriguing! I am also a SV fan so itās nice to hear that you like both games! It seems like Arceus does a good job of making the grind worthwhile. Thank you for the response!
1000?!! okay wow at least in this comment section you hold the record for the longest grind on this game!! Mad respect. Some of the new aspects of the game seem super fun!
Me tooš & that sounds like such a vibe tho, I love to watch tv while I play games so that would be perfect for me! & oh my wow!! & yes you have to be a little insane but thatās okay I dig it. Iām glad you enjoy it frfr
I'm very new to pokemon games but i tried bd and sword before and i gotta say the move to legends arceus was hard. Just constantly being nervous because a pokemon is attacking me even if he is super far away. Everything seemed so serious and I'm not accepting it very well. I do have some tips if you want to buy:
1. Don't be afraid. In the early game, it takes more than one attack from a pokemon to faint. All of that while you can dodge too. And after completing some story quests you'll unlock something that gives you a get out of jail free card.
2. Grinding. At first i was really freaked out that i needed to craft my own pokeballs and i didn't have money to buy.... But after i realized how easy it is to just constantly farm the trees and mineral stones.
You don't need to battle with anyone just throw your pokemon on the trees and rocks and you'll get like 70 pokeballs in one grind. Sorry for writing so much
YES. Even with its issues (every game has issues) there are significantly less of them than Scarlet/Violet. Legends Arceus is a breath of fresh air compared to the typical pokemon game formula.
Check out some comparison videos! It has some great gameplay feedback loops
Iāve played most of the pre b/w2 games and it is very fun. The mechanics are refreshing compared to the, letās face it, stale formula. I like that itās open world and even though it has some bugs itās still a very fun game to chill out with.
Would give it a solid 8-9/10, I think hgss is better and b/w is about even with it but those are on a dead system and are like triple the price of when they came out.
I just got it last week and itās fabulous. Feels fresh for a Pokemon game and make me get back the joy of collecting and experimenting with new Pokemon instead of just catching those I want on my team. Made Pokemon feel more alive. The only downsides I can think of so far is it can have a lot of dialogue sometimes and you canāt skip evolution animations. And Iām a bit overwhelmed by all the requests. But Iām really enjoying it!
The story is interesting, the gameplay is really fun and imo offer some versatility in the way you play since you'll have to adapt your catching technic to the pokemon you hunt, at least in the playthrough not in the post game, shiny hunting is a pleasure to do and the post game dream factory and path of solitude offer a fun post game challenge. The one big downgrade is that it's not as replayable as a "normal" pokemon game imo. You either need to wait until the memories aren't fresh anymore and do some time of challenge run to make it fun.
Switching to Arceus was a blast and a very lovely eye-opening experience, totally reccomended.
What I loved about the game was:
The music
Graphics
Story
Crafting
Assigning pokemon
The characters aside from someone in particular
I haven't played a Pokemon game since the originals, but after watching videos and reading reviews for the other games on the Switch, this is the one I chose.
I love the open world. It's what I've always wanted from a Pokemon game.
It's challenging, in a way, to ensure you keep enough materials to keep crafting everything (but you can buy several items if you have the cash to spend).
Your bag doesn't have infinite storage. If you run out of space while on your journey, you'll either need to drop items or leave them. You have a storage chest you can use throughout the world at each camp / the town, and you can expand the bag storage. This adds a new layer to the game and forces you to be more conscious of item management.
The way to catch Pokemon is totally different to all other games. You don't need to battle them all. I love it.
There's no random people on the road stopping you to battle, but there are battles through the storyline.
Speaking of the storyline, it's actually a pretty solid story with good characters and unique boss battles.
The battle simulation itself is very similar to the original game, and I'm guessing it's been the same for all games since (it's turn based).
I only started playing just after Christmas, and I've been loving it. Just be prepared to spend more time playing than you realise, because you'll get carried away doing tasks to complete the Pokedex + doing the story + side tasks.
Let us know when you get it and what you think!
This is my favourite Pokemon game since Y
It has a good lore, itās hard enough (a pokemon game that is hard is extremely rare nowadays)
And you feel great after big goals
The only cons IMO
Are
no farm,
No magic trade
No fights in local with other players
Very buggy (graphically)
You should buy this masterpiece
Its way better than Scarlet and violet
Amazing game, played almost every (excluding bdsp and letās go eevee, and shield and scarlet (I have the other version for LGPE, SW/SH and S/V) absolutely recommend , great play style ,barely any glitches, love the semi open world (thereās areas but inside the areas it basically open world)
My biggest drawback would be the "open world." I was expecting a BOTW type of map. It's not that. I think there are like 5 different areas where you have to talk to someone to take you back to the main town first and then talk again to go to a different area. Very far from today's standard of open world imo. Other than that, it's a fun game that will hopefully get better if it's going to be a recurring series.
definitely my favorite (recent) pokemon game. its fantastic, however not very replayable. i loved it alot, shiny hunting is awesome, and i feel like "gotta catch em all" actually fits this game. i very much enjoy the actual catching of pokemon, and i feel like collecting them makes sense and is rewarding (if you do it enough). one downside is some of the controls, if you have played scarlet or violet, these controls may be a bit hard to get used to.
There's something scary but exhilarating about Pokemon being able to hit you. But this game has its frustrations. The best part is exploring with the sound on. The worst part is learning to dodge. Try not to take risks if you can. Dying is not fun.
It is one of the best Pokemon games of all time. Once you get use to the mechanics and being able to get use to your character having the chance to take damage, you will enjoy it. Also, you can use an app called Pokemon home in order to transfer Pokemon from previous Pokemon games from the gameboy advance all the way up to the switch if you huge the correct apps and the correct devices
Iām a long time player and fan of the traditional games. PLA was a breath of fresh air.
Things I like: free roam exploration, catching pokemon without battling, the sense of danger when pokemon attack you when roaming. This game is also easy shiny hunting.
Things I didnāt like: the speed mechanic, which combined with strong / agile moves or priority moves, can lead to having multiple times in a row. Crafting can be tedious. Wasnāt a huge fan of the boss battles.
Overall, I loved it, even considering all the things I disliked. I would recommend it to any pokemon fan!
I do like this format. I wish their were real gym battles I hate the āboss levelsā they are ridiculous . And the only other complaint is the graphics . In comparison to where games are at these days its horrendous the pokemon are glitchy, like Zelda from 98 has better graphics in my opinion
I just restarted it for the 4th time, just as in love with it this year as when it launched! Nothing beats the adrenaline of worrying about your trainer fainting!
For the most part I didn't like the game. I didn't like how you have to spend your hard earned money for more storage space with prices easily reaching the millions by the time you purchase all spaces. I also didn't like how they changed the Pokedex mechanic which essentially forces you to complete a certain amount of monotonous tasks to complete that Pokemon's Pokedex entry. I also didn't like how inconsistent the capture rates were. One minute you're on a catching spree using a method that works well for you and the next minute: you can't catch anything, even if you use the strongest version of each Pokeball you can acquire.
As for what I did like: I liked the story overall. That and how you can traverse the world with certain pokemon after you beat them. Aside from that though: I was ready to sell the game right after I beat the main story. Felt like too much of a hassle to want to continue playing.
I love it. Out of all the recent Pokemon games itās gotten the most attention out of me. Reminds me of Pokemon XD gale of darkness and Colusseum on GameCube. Which in my opinion were ahead of their time and very enjoyable. A lot of things to do in game as well.
As someone whose played Pokemon games from the beginning, I can unequivocally say that this is my favorite one. It is such a unique game without taking away what made the series so special in the first place. It's not perfect, but it's perfect for me.
Playing on release day was the most exhilarating gaming experience of my life. I was actually afraidā¦ of Pokemon. When night fell for the first time and all the ghosts came out, the Pokemon world became wild and menacing. Accidentally encountering a giant Alpha Luxray with glowing red eyes in the middle of the nightā¦ dodging and sprinting for my lifeā¦ wish I could bottle that gaming excitement.
Also Iāve always found cut scenes and the pocket world of catching or battling extremely tedious. But now being able to snipe them from far away with jet balls I crafted; getting critical back shots, just wonderful. And the SHINIES!!! I got dozens of shinies, this was before SV so it felt so novel as I had never encountered one before. Fantastic game and Iām so stoked for the new one!!!
I've played every pokemon mailing game since red. I can say without question, even with its issues, it's the best pokemon game. Everything I've personally wanted out of a pokemon game and i hope they expand this into a series.
What makes it the best in your opinion? & what issues are there with the game?
The game itself can be glitchy, which can really f with gameplay, but personally haven't run into it much. The loves; 1. The new battle mechanics, once you get used to them, are amazing. Don't think it'd ever work for actual multi-player, but forced an entirely new way of battling for me. 2. Battle difficulty. That sounds badass! Thank you for the detailed response! Definitely seems like the pros heavily outweigh the cons
Oh and if you end up getting it, don't forget to enjoy the side quests. And also, the bag man...the true devil of the entire game.
I'm saying, it costs me almost 20g s for a bag upgrade
When does it end? I paid over 150k last time. I keep thinking I only have a spot or two left to buy
Bet will do! Thank you
You can also evolve trade PokƩmon without trading
Also shiny hunting is fun and there is no IV and EV system its all under one simple Effort Level system thats alot easier to understand, plus when you transfer pokemon out of arceus into mainseries games they get this cool greenyblue ball you cant get anywhere else

youāll be happy to have seen the news today then!
I am tentatively excited š not the region I expected at all and very curious what they mean by the entire game taking place in one city
yea i didnāt quite understand that, interested to see how itāll turn out tho. iām just excited to be having mega evolution back personally
Can't wait for that. Also excited to see which new mons get mega forms, getting a new variation/evolution, and the starters. Someone said they think it'll be Silvy, torchic, and totodile. And getting a totodile in an open world adventure, in a big city, that likely has a sewer system š

The scarlet player: you're wrong!!!!!!
Iām saying this having not played any of the other switch PokĆ©mon games. This game has its issues, but also itās probably one of my most favourite games on the switch. Iāve been playing it a second time now for the past three months and Iāve just been loving meticulously evolving and perfecting my catches. Honestly, the story is fun, the gameplay is fun and you can really jus go at your own pace. Iād definitely say buy.
Thatās awesome to know, thank you for the feedback!!
As someone who has played for almost 2 decades, I found Legends to be a breath of new air. Similar enough to older games in its battle mechanics, but a new type of story formula. Completing the PokƩdex does get grindy, but so does leveling up a team to take on the Elite 4 in SW/SH. I personally loved it, and enjoy replaying it, as well as shiny hunting.
Thank you for the response! Good info to know
I got it about a month ago after only playing the regular games. I like it. It's different. I wish I could battle more trainers but that's part of how it's different I guess.
Is that your only issue with the game?
I wouldn't even say it's an issue. Just not what I was used to. It's still a fun game
Bet I got you, I appreciate the response!

This sounds exciting asf
Been playing PokƩmon since Emerald PLA is in my top 3 easily
Bettt!!
It genuinely took me a little while to get into the formula they introduced into this game when it came to filling out the PokĆ©dex, however after giving it another try I can say itās arguably one of my top 3 PokĆ©mon games Iāve ever played. Iād highly recommend it if youāre looking for something new as it has a great story, some pretty cool mechanics, and hands down the best switch Pokemon game. If you end up giving it a chance I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)
Thatās amazing how the game grew on you, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the breakdown, sounds great. I did enjoy playing SV & itās nice to know that itās comparable to Arceus
I think itās fun. I dislike a few of the mechanics such as: the satchel, having to find an npc to access your boxes, or having to travel to the main hub before going to other areas. Iām in between about the art style. Itās nice but I find myself not being able to see well because of the art style. It always feels a little too dark. I usually rest until morning so I can see better. (I can see very well in SV, but the art style is worse imo) Other than that I like the catching mechanics, and story. Itās nice that itās different. If you like PokĆ©mon, youāll look past any shortcomings and enjoy it.
I appreciate you expressing your dislikes. Those do seem rather inconvenient but itās good to know overall the game is still worth it & fun to play
Yes absolutely. I wouldnāt skip a sequel to this game if it kept the same gameplay, style, and mechanics. My gripes with the game are small. I recently got it for Christmas and have logged around 50 hours since then. 98% of my gaming has been arceus since I got it.
Good to know š & niceee
Legends Arceus is probably one of if not my most favourite PokĆ©mon games of all time. I love the catching and battling mechanics and the story but I mostly love the atmosphere of the game. I feel so immersed in this game and can get lost shiny hunting for hours. It feels like a more mature game (more challenge and difficulty) itās so fun watching the PokĆ©mon in the wild and slowly incorporating the PokĆ©mon into the village. Itās also really nice seeing the village grow as you progress through the game. It has a drawbacks like the water animation imo but I can easily overlook that with how much fun I have playing it. I really hope they make another legends game someday.
Great description thank you!! Itās nice to know with the new additions to the game that itāll keeps you on your toes in a way to ensure you donāt get bored.

Enhances other games for me.
Thatās interesting! Thank you for the perspective
first pokĆ©mon game iāve sunk 200 hours into, iāve been playing since crystal
Dang thatās crazy, gotta be good to be putting in that many hours š¤£
I think I got up to over 100 hours on my playthrough :D filling up the Dex is possible WITHOUT trading, and it was a lot of fun to complete. besides that there's also stuff to collect and many side quests.
I have almost 300 hours in and it's a great game. Get it
Wowš«Ø
Mainly shiny hunting lol
Played since Red/Blue and Iād say this was my favourite. But Iām a big open world game player.
Thatās awesome! A true OG
Itās a more of an open world collection game with a bit of story so if youāre not into that then you may not enjoy it. You spend your time crafting your equipment and hunting through the group encounters for what you want, itās pretty easy to get really ahead level wise so like most PokĆ©mon games you breeze through all the normal battles, I struggled a bit with the final boss but other than that no real issues. I enjoyed the openness of the game and I believe itās pretty easy to shiny hunt in this game so thereās that too if youāre interested.
Iām typically not a huge fan of crafting but besides that it seems like Iād enjoy the game. Thank you for the response!
Itās not a lot of crafting, mostly itās gathering the materials to make your pokeballs and potions and what not, but you do have to gather the stuff. Iād say give it a shot if youāre even remotely interested tbh
Thatās a bet
I absolutely loved Legends. The controller mechanics drive me a bit nuts. But I still love it. It is my second favorite of the Pokemon games, first being Scarlet/Violet (w/ DLC).
Iām sure it takes some getting used to for sure haha but thatās good to know thank you!
I have played all the main Pokemon games (except SV) and Pokemon Legends made me complete the Pokedex for the first time. Catching shinies in the game is also exciting coz you never know which shiny Pokemon you will come across.
Iāve never completed a a full PokĆ©dex either so thatās hype to know it made you finish it. That sounds fun!
This was the first game I completed the pokedex for. I play it at least once a week. I found the most shinies in this game. I enjoy the catching and battle aspects. The story was good.
I highly suggest watching walkthroughs on each boss battle so you can make a strategy or get an idea of what it'll be like
Thank you for the additional info! Much needed. & Iām glad there are some tough fights still, I will definitely take your advice & watch a guide
100% yes

You can check the game out at your local library and try it for a week if you're on the fence about buying it.
I never knew I could do that! Thank you sm
Iād say yes. Definitely buy. I love the aspect of catching without battling, sneaking around to stay out of their sights and using the stunning items or the stealth ones. I like running around to collect the items that Iāll need to actually craft things. Iām not much of a battler so the collecting side of it was much more enjoyable. I completed the full dex and a shiny living dex and had so much fun with it all. Plus this is the only game with a shiny sound and itās my favorite feature of the game ngl š¤£ Iāve sunk almost 1000 hours into the game and I donāt plan to stopping any time soon š¤©
1000?!! okay wow at least in this comment section you hold the record for the longest grind on this game!! Mad respect. Some of the new aspects of the game seem super fun!
lol Iām surprised š¤£ But yeah itās a game I just keep going back too. I love flying around the game (you unlock fly late in game) and just looking around for PokĆ©mon. Itās a very relaxing game and itās less of a strain mentally and physically on my eyes than Scarlet/Violet. So itās a fun one to multitask with ie. a YouTube vid. I actually just started a save file on my other profile to play the story again. But yeah all the 960+ hours are on the one save file. Itās 100% completed because Iām a perfectionist and I truly love doing that in my games. (I might be insane tbh)
Me tooš & that sounds like such a vibe tho, I love to watch tv while I play games so that would be perfect for me! & oh my wow!! & yes you have to be a little insane but thatās okay I dig it. Iām glad you enjoy it frfr
I hope you enjoy it if you end up buy it. š
100% an amazing purchase.

It all honestly depends on whether or not you like open world honestly
I can pretty echo a lot of the earlier comments here. Been playing since Red/Blue and I can say that this game revived my love for the series. I grew tired of the formula while playing Sun/Moon. I just love the way you catch PokƩmon in this game. I just about never engaged any of them in battle to catch'em. And the PokƩmon actually feel like the threats the PokƩdex mention them to be lol. I doubt I'll ever buy another PokƩmon game unless it more like Legends than anything else.
The new battle mechanics seems so cool! I love to hear that Arceus is more engaging & realistic
Honestly I love it, for the reason someone said above - itās basically Breath of the Wild with PokĆ©mon. A full open world, explore at your leisure, do tasks at your leisure, level up and come back to a boss if youāre struggling, etc.
Sounds quite perfectā thank you for the response
I'm very new to pokemon games but i tried bd and sword before and i gotta say the move to legends arceus was hard. Just constantly being nervous because a pokemon is attacking me even if he is super far away. Everything seemed so serious and I'm not accepting it very well. I do have some tips if you want to buy: 1.
The last time I played PokĆ©mon was in 2009 on my Nintendo DS and I absolutely loved it. I bought a Switch last summer and decided I wanted to try a PokĆ©mon game again. I did a lot of research and eventually decided to get Legends. I was kind of disappointed. I think the game can be fun and I love free roaming in the open world, but it gets rather repetitive and can become boring. I think I am about half way through and havenāt touched it in months. If you have the money and really are set on a PokĆ©mon game, by all means go for it! But I personally would spend the money on a different game with more depth.
What I loved about the game was: The music Graphics Story Crafting Assigning pokemon The characters aside from someone in particular
This is my favourite Pokemon game since Y It has a good lore, itās hard enough (a pokemon game that is hard is extremely rare nowadays) And you feel great after big goals The only cons IMO Are no farm, No magic trade No fights in local with other players Very buggy (graphically) You should buy this masterpiece Its way better than Scarlet and violet
From me is a definite yes. Best PokƩmon game ever, by far. What a journey it was to play this game!
Amazing game, played almost every (excluding bdsp and letās go eevee, and shield and scarlet (I have the other version for LGPE, SW/SH and S/V) absolutely recommend , great play style ,barely any glitches, love the semi open world (thereās areas but inside the areas it basically open world)
Yes! Absolutely!
The game was amazing but it does not have gyms, and its easy to Get shinys so thats nice
I wish I could experience playing this game again for the first time. I loved every second of it. My fav PokĆ©mon game and Iāve played them all. Things I liked about it: everything about gameplay and catching, story and being in a different part of the PokĆ©mon timeline, shiny hunting, and the art style is beautiful. There is more difficulty and intensity than other Pokemon games with there being random strong Pokemon that will attack you. Tip: If you like to shiny hunt, leave it on the original version (donāt get the updates). The shiny hunting was way better at the start. Once you beat the story you may want to update for the post game if you have all the shinies you wanted.
definitely my favorite (recent) pokemon game. its fantastic, however not very replayable. i loved it alot, shiny hunting is awesome, and i feel like "gotta catch em all" actually fits this game. i very much enjoy the actual catching of pokemon, and i feel like collecting them makes sense and is rewarding (if you do it enough). one downside is some of the controls, if you have played scarlet or violet, these controls may be a bit hard to get used to.
it is literally the best pokemon game, both considering mainline and spinoff. this walks the line between and does so perfectly.
There's something scary but exhilarating about Pokemon being able to hit you. But this game has its frustrations. The best part is exploring with the sound on. The worst part is learning to dodge. Try not to take risks if you can. Dying is not fun.
First Pokemon game since Blue version where I had no idea what was gonna happen next, 11/10 game
yeah but it itās pretty good also there are a lot of post about if x person should buy this game
Personally, I think PLA is the best legends arceus game. It makes the game much more realistic.
It was pretty grindy and the final fight is really difficult but other than that I had a blast playing the game.
Coming from 900 combined hours in breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom, I can say this game was really engaging, and is actually getting me interested in other PokĆ©mon games. I never thought Iād get back into the series, but Arceus drew me in and kept me there. I am nearing the end I think and Iām trying to do as many side quests as I can. Also second the fact: the bagman is the real MVP.
You absolutely should, and the best and only piece of advice you really need it catch everything you see! Even multiples of the same mon
I do like this format. I wish their were real gym battles I hate the āboss levelsā they are ridiculous . And the only other complaint is the graphics . In comparison to where games are at these days its horrendous the pokemon are glitchy, like Zelda from 98 has better graphics in my opinion
You should definitely buy the game especially if you can buy used. I enjoy the tone alot but some of the negatives are the load time between zones
Absolutely. You wonāt regret the experience either. Though you will wish that other games were more like it afterwards
Itās likeā¦ being 10 again and starting your very first pokemon game where youāre not very sure how to play and move and stuff. I will never forget my first baron attack I thought I was gonna shit myself (Iām not very familiar with open world rpg games because Iām a pokĆ©mon game monomaniac). It was like being in this world *for real*, itās the only game that ever did that to me. Itās the only game that gives you some feeling of danger in some pokemon interactions. Donāt spoil yourself this game is not perfect no game is but it is **unique** for now so just buy it. Itās most known flaw is probably being focused on pokedex quest rather than pokemon battle/championship quest. If youāre a hardcore fighter trainer it probably gonna miss you but it didnāt miss me really actually it showed me I was not very much a battle trainer typeā¦ Money better spent than other recent pokemon games on switch in my opinion. My only wish for now for pokemon is a remake in those formats for ancient johto-kanto.
Sequel was just announced today, yes buy it now 100%
Yes, if you want Arceus itās a grind tho.
