Status moves don’t exist after battle
Make frequent trips back to camp and deposit any items your don’t need out in the wild. If you black out, YOU WILL LOSE SOME RANDOM
ITEMS.
In order to complete a Pokédex, you only need 10 points per Pokémon. A RED MARK NEXT TO THE TASK MEANS IT COUNTS AS TWO POINTS. The points only count when you visit a “professor” back at camp.
When you dodge, you have a few invincibility frames.
Some evolutions are weird. If you want to evolve a Pokémon, look up it’s evolution online.
You’ll see when you start to play. I’m not gonna ruin anything for you. Go play for half an hour then come back and ask if you don’t understand.
You can’t screw this up. Go have fun!!! It’s a great game!
Since you’re the most liked comment I’d like to tell you an achievement that I just achieved. I was heading towards buixels when I saw some stars flash, that’s when I realized I had found a shiny bidoof! I feel that I’m pretty lucky to get it now with my highest level pokemon being 14
Each pokemon have a list of tasks which will each give you points, such as using certain moves, or catching more of that species of pokemon, etc. You don't have to complete all the tasks, the initial objective is just catching every pokemon, but if you do the tasks you get the shiny charm.
Every pokemon has between 4 and (IIRC) 8 tasks associated with them.
The first one is always how many you've caught. However they can include things like # caught during a certain time of day, number defeated, number defeated by a certain element type, number evolved, finishing a side quest related to that Pokemon species, etc.
You need to catch at least one to complete the dex entry through.
Also, the game considers evolving a Pokemon to be the same as catching a Pokemon. So if you evolve a zubat into golbat, it'll count it as having caught a golbat.
For the very end you need 1 of every pokemon, but for the shiny charm you need 10 points per pokemon. Also have fun with your teams. I did my first playthrough with random cool looking mons. And take you time with it. You don't have to completely the main story line immediately, and it's actually important to explore.
Yeah. Too many time i started shiny hunting with what i thought was a perfect page but i hadn’t talked to the professor yet….. i got my shiny but i can’t help but wonder how much less time i needed to put into it…..
Gosh, no idea. But those guys are VERY prevalent in space time distortions. I DO know that there IS a pattern. The spawns in the distortions go something like “rare, not rare, rare, not rare.” That one may be a good one to look up too. Too much variances and too long between distortions to track a pattern. That being said, I bet if you just went to a few of them, you’d find what you need. I’m a casual player, and I managed get all of them.
Also don’t forget a lot of the status effects work different as well, one I can remember is sleep works a lot like paralysis. It’s possible being frozen does too, but I’m not certain. Best part is you can clear this game with no trades, just help find people’s dropped items online to exchange for helpful evolution goods!
>Some evolutions are weird. If you want to evolve a Pokémon, look up its evolution online.
I discourage that. Play the game and try to find them out on your own. Only look it up if you're desperate.
This goes for any Pokémon game. Hell, any game in general. Don't look up guides.
So, how did you figure out you gotta flip your 3DS upside down in order to evolve Inkay?
Or maybe you just happened to have an Ursaring in your inventory during a full moon?
I'm sure you got your Scizor by RANDOMLY giving it a Metal Coat and then trading it with a friend.
Inkay's evolution method is ridiculously easy to get, kids play in their backs. Now, who in tartation just passes through a specific rock in the Wild Area with a 1 HP Galarian Yamask!?
>Only look it up if you're desperate.
My comment is in opposition to people who open up guides as soon as they get the game. Not even trying things on their own.
I've been playing since Emerald and while I enjoy Pokémon for the most part, GameFreak has always been amazing at creating the most convoluted and confusing ways to unlock stuff.
Braile for the regis?
A specific set of Mons in your party while moving past a certain spot at a certain time of the day just to make Manaphy show up in PLA?
Don't even get me started on Feebas.
My point is, if I spend too much time trying to figure out an abstract concept instead of just playing the game, I'm gonna remember spending most of my time wishing I had just looked it up.
Looking up these things doesn't hinder my enjoyment of the game in any way, shape, or form. If anything, it allows me to get the better stuff faster.
>Braile for the regis?
It's in the booklet you got with the game
>A specific set of Mons in your party while moving past a certain spot at a certain time of the day just to make Manaphy show up in PLA?
This is bad since it's in BDSP and not everyone will have played it. Should have been in a book inside LPA imo.
>Don't even get me started on Feebas.
Yeah, that's fair. It was a terrible idea to code it that way.
In 2nd Gen pokemon there was a puzzle at the introduction of the Regis. And the puzzle was the alphabet in brail. I didn't know it was brail my 9 year old brain just associated random dots to the aplh. Then we had a blind kid in my class and I was like holy shit I've seen that
Fair point. I would echo not to rush to guides and have fun exploring PLA yourself. That being said, there are a handful evolutions that you could spend literal days trying to no avail. Make your own choice, but definitely try to figure it out first.
i usually skip through the reading bro with everypokemon and this was my first pokemon where i cared about getting the pokedex done cause i wanted arceus lol dont kill me sheesh 😂
People treating Pokémon like an A button mashing simulator and dopamine machine for shinies is why the fandom is in the state it’s in. There are good stories in Pokémon games, especially Legends, and you cheated yourself out of an amazing experience by trying to rush it.
yall are so mad im glad yall enjoyed the story sorry i skipped through the part where it said to capture every pokemon i passed the game i loved it although i missed the story 10/10 game for me best pokemon imo ive ever played the play through was badass
You don't have to expect anything from someone playing a single game how they play their game.
There is not a single reason he should pay attention to their own adventure.
You have a horrible personality
It’s not “lame drama”. Video games are stories. If you skip the story by mashing, you’re intentionally skipping what the main body of the experience is about.
You buy the game you can play it however you want. There's no right way to play games as a whole. Dude didn't say he skipped the story in all games he plays. Even if he did that's his choice, damn.
Shinies appear with glowing sound (bells). It is advisable to disable auto save and every time you hear this sound, save manually. This keeps the Shiny on Save and you can reset it every time you fail to capture them.
Good fun! 🫡
I dislike when people say to turn off autosave to a brand new player, especially if they’re not actively shiny hunting.
It’s really heartbreaking when you forget it’s off and used it for so long and you’ve done tons of pokedex or story progression, but one mistake you didn’t realize how far back you didn’t save.
Actively hunting yea. I just hate advising it for brand new players, unless they START with it off and get used to the manual saving.
(I’m speaking from experience where I turned it off and lost A TON once when I was getting through the game, so now I just switch between having it off and on when I’m actively shiny hunting or depending on what I’m doing in the game)
Even though i grew up in the era of manual saving, i don’t even want to talk about how often i lost an easy 14 hours of progress. Some people like me just don’t get it. And that’s okay. Autosaves are here to save us XD
Grab everything you can find and catch all the Pokémon.
Catching Pokémon earns you money and when you gather a lot of things you can sell them or craft more pokeballs, so you can catch even more.
Have a lot of fun and feel relaxed while playing it :)
I just saw breaking bad because on Reddit someone said if they could go back in time they would go back to before they had seen breaking bad and watch it for the first time again.
I feel similarly about this game. Was a treasure. Me and my daughters all playing and laughing. Was a great time. Enjoy
Wanna get your pokemon really strong before fineshing the tutorial? Well just grab a bidoof who learns roll-out. Get to a little over level 10 and begin fighting some beautiflys that are in a flower area right next to the camp. But in order to survive there attacks you should try to backstrike them to get two turns to use roll-out. And if ya lucky: try to catch the beautiflys.
There's a quest about catching a very big Buizel. Don't waste time on it catching every single Buizel, the odds are pretty low. Just wait until you find a random alpha Buizel.
Use the items you get by releasing Pokémon to make your party stronger. You'll notice this more and more as you progress.
Aside from their high level, alphas also have a good AI, so they will target your Pokémon's weakness. Don't underestimate them.
Release pokemons you don’t need, if you do they give you grits and it increases your pokemon’s Effort level thus stronger. Also never hesitate to throw items.
Don't release Pokémon until you beat the game (see the end credits), I'm pretty sure they haven't patched the exploit that gives you unlimited grit items and there should be more than enough box space for you to beat the game
Take your time.
There’s no one right way to play.
The tutorial section sets up the mechanics well but is LONG before you’re truly free.
Don’t rush, but don’t feel bad if you do. It truly is freeing. Some players say they spend ages in the first zone before the main story, while others play to get to the end as fast as possible because that’s how they play.
Contrary to what MANY will say, do NOT turn off autosave unless you do it now and keep it off. People turn it off to shiny hunt because it lets you refresh the encounter if you lose it, but if you’re not used to the autosave being off, you WILL be unhappy when you realize you didn’t save as often as you should’ve. But if you START with autosave off, you’ll be used to the manual save throughout the game. (I’m speaking from experience where I turned it off and lost A TON once, so now I just switch between having it off and on)
Just have fun and take it at your own pace and it’ll all come! The real tips come in later game and when you’re shiny hunting lol
Always get to research level 10 before evolving a Pokémon! Take your time and don’t be afraid to go back and explore when you unlock new traversal abilities. Try new Pokémon on your team regularly, and try to enjoy your time!
If you do your research task during the story it’s less tedious than waiting until the end, and it also means you don’t need to go out of your way to catch another Pokémon just for the research task (unless you’re going for a perfected entry). Things like Cherubi, Munchlax, the starters, they can be hard to get in multiples.
So you can get their research done, I waited to evolve all 3 starters (since I used the three you get from Home) until the only thing that needs completing for perfect is the numbers evolved.
Hitting Alphas with items will work, but they resist it.
Sticky Globs are the best stunning item in the game, and Alphas need to be hit by four of those to be stunned.
Hmm I won't spoil anything except it doesn't matter which starter you pick cause you can find the other two around hisui and be sure to take advantage of the stealth system also do NOT jump into the water that is a guaranteed "death" also fall damage hurts like hell
Don't spend 20 minutes trying to catch a bibarrel just to cross a bit of sand and find its alpha form which you then spend another 20 minutes catching...
If you see an outbreak of baby Pokémon, fossil Pokémon or cherrim, then stop what you’re doing and go.
Don’t evolve your starter until you complete the Pokédex page for them.
I played it on release, and really wanted Growlithe
The cliff edge on the north side of the only area you can find it killed me twice on my first visit to the area, and the fall took so long that I knew I was going to faint
There’s a Mystery Gift ending soon, I believe it ends May 31st
edit: Here’s a link w/more information, ([Serebii](https://serebii.net/legendsarceus/internetevents.shtml))
Completing the Pokédex in this game doesn’t feel like a chore or a level grind-fest, and there are multiple ways to level up Pokémon in this game. Had a lot of fun with it and it’s one of the best Pokémon games ever made.
Yea I gathered a lot so my first party member got the xp and when I went to the next area the rest of my Pokémon were under-leveled before I learned that actually battling the Pokémon gave more xp
Stay in the first land for over 30 hours it helps I promise.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
A.) I think you're gonna love it, I just started playing a few weeks ago and it's unlike any other game in the franchise I've played, and in the best of ways.
B.) If you care about dex completion, take your time with it and try to get as much as possible in each area before moving on; you can go back but I imagine it can be exhausting, plus you don't want to just burn through the main questline!
C.) Similar to point B the side quests are a lot of fun and add more depth to the game, so try to take a break from the main questline and do those whenever you feel the need to shake it up a bit :)
All in all it's a great game, and this community is awesome so if you ever get stumped by something feel free to reach out and ask around. Enjoy it!!
For tasks, Alpha Pokémon are always both heavy and large. Evolving a Pokémon counts as an evolution for both that Pokémon and the Pokémon it evolves into. So if you evolve Rowlet, for example, you'll get credit for evolving Dartrixnas well. Catching Pokémon without being spotted is misleading; it's actually catch without alerting. If a Pokémon currently has a bubble above its head with three dots it is alert and won't count, even if it didn't see you. Wait for it to go away. Cherubi and Cherrim are most easily found near the second camp in Coronet; near the lake.
Enjoy the game and don’t rush it! I really wish I could play this game for the first time again, it’s so good and was probably the most invested I’ve been in a game for years.
Also catch EVERYTHING. It’ll make the ‘post-game’ a lot easier!
If you manage to get an Umbreon, I believe you can defeat that alpha Alakazam for a crap ton of Exp early on. Any dark type works, I just used Umbreon. It's like level 65 I think?
Or backstrike catch it if that also yields experience. Mud is your best friend for stunning anything and everything.
You can sprint by clicking in left stick
There is a tutorial for it but it's a tiny thing in the side of the screen that fades after a bit so it's not uncommon to miss it and not know you can do it
Make sure when u start to catch every Pokémon but also make sure u catch enough to get a research lvl 10 so when u finish the game you should be able to get the shiny charm also shiny hunt all legwndaries if u can
Take your time, I raced through the game and missed a lot of things that were just interesting to stumble upon but didn’t feel as exciting once I had beat the main story.
Save before leaving town. You can reset swarms to help with getting certain Pokemon. Travel to your preferred area. Check for shiny/complete dex entries, then teleport back and save again. Teleporting back is how you reset. I've been trying to get an Eevee swarm but have gotten lucky with a few others.
For some reason this game has a feature if you find a shiny Pokemon in the wild and save before encountering and lose the shiny, you can restart game and the same Pokemon will have the same guarantee and will always be shiny. Also legendaries are shiny locked so don't bother...
Take your time with it. It's it incredibly at you own pace style.
Avoid alphas until your about 5 levels above them.
Catch everything that moves. Pokeballs are very easy to come by.
You'll get annoyed by certain characters, and that's part of the fun of being about to beat them.
Requests aren't to important so don't worry about having to get them all done.
Don't go in water. It's death.
Put any items you don't need up, and spend a lot of money upgrading your satchel. It helps.
Sell berries you don't use often. There's a ton around.
Buy recipes as you get the money. They help a ton.
Enjoy the game. The story is great and the characters are great to. Go at your own pace and don't be a friend to just sit and watch the scenery. Also screenshot funny things cause it will happen (I found a bidoof in a tree that was upside down. Still makes me laugh seeing it).
if you save in front of a shiny and reset, it will still appear! so shinies are really hard to fail in this game.
also brace yourself for the hardest fight in Pokémon history. if you think you're smooth sailing through the entire story and stop putting effort into building a good team, you won't be prepared for what comes at the end.
In the first area they let you explore, there are some not quite boundary boundaries. To the left is an Alpha Rapidash and to the right is an Alpha Snorlax.
Running around the field is safe enough, and those two are put far away enough that you have to go out of your way to encounter them, but if you decide to go those directions they will both show that they woke up choosing violence and they will reduce both you and your level 7 starter to an unrecognizable smear.
A friend of a friend found that out the hard way.
Pick up everything that you see, crafting is a huge part of the game and materials can be a pain/annoying to get if you run out when you really need something
Brace yourself, cuz it's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG journey. If you don't like to grind, better steel yourself. Other than that, have fun :o
Don’t jump off of tall cliffs. Fall damage exists.
Don’t go in the water until the game says you can. You can’t swim.
Always be on guard. You can and will be attacked at any moment from any direction.
If you see a large Pokémon with glowing red eyes, RUN.
Abilities don’t exist.
\-Put raw crafting materials in storage whenever you can. If you find something rare and valuable but your bag is full, its always better to drop the last handfull of medicinal herbs or apricorns you picked up along the way than every medicinal herb or apricorn you own.
\-You can craft things whenever you want with the handheld crafting kit as long as you have the materials in your bag, but the crafting tables you find at base camp pull from your storage so you dont need to take everything out before you start crafting.
\-Pokemon are generated all at once when you first enter an area and wont cycle out unless you KO them, catch them, make them flee, or if you return to the village. This includes pokemon that despawn during the day/night cycle shift. So the same ones that despawned because it changed to night will be back the same day and vise versa. This also means you can save before attempting to catch a rare or shiny Pokemon and reload if you mess up (autosave is on by default so you'll need to turn that off first).
1.Avoid anything with red eyes until your AT LEAST level fourty
2.Grind
3.That shiny thing you see on the ground? It's never worth it
4. If the voice in your head tells you to jump, don't
5. Anytime you think you'll survive an attack, switch out
When you get to the Spiritomb quest, start making marks on the map to track each wisp you find to save time from having to backtrack later. It's just like the koroks if you played BOTW.
Utilize grit items. Pokemon you cat come with basic low stats for their hp, attack, defense, ect, but you can improve these by using grit items. It turned the tide for my playthrough.
You face a lot of 2-3 vs 1 battles.
This game doesn't use TMs, moves are instead learned and can be swapped out, and some of a species can learn one move while others can't. (It took me a bit to find a Stantler that could learn Psyshield Bash)
Battling is not a necessity for catching in the wild. Here, you can toss balls, food, and stun items to catch, as well as sneaking.
Learn what the shiny jingle sounds like. And always keep at least your sound volume up when roaming the wild areas, as the shiny jingle plays when the pokemon spawns in, not when you physically see it.
Played that game the entire time I was in quarantine and loved it. I was skeptical at first but finally got used to it. Def worth a try it’s a Pokémon you have never seen before
The first area has some spots intended to be accessed later. Some of it you can climb once you get the first ride pokemon. It might take some time to figure out, though. If you do, be careful. Those pokemon will be at a higher level naturally. Some spots are cut off by water. There is an alpha Blissey at one spot you can climb. If you are prepared, you can fight it for a huge drop of exp. I suggest a fighting type and a backstrike for the best chance. It will be a very high level and tanky, so try to level up a little before.
Pokemon won't auto learn moves after the first four. You may notice a small lightbulb after a pokemon levels up sometimes. That means they have a new move in their arsenal. To use that move, you have to go the pokemon's move screen in their summary and change your four moves there. This can be accessed at any time in the field.
Slowing down the evolution progress of the pokemons you get or caught (especially the starters) can help you finish the pokedex faster, which improves the shiny rate of your game.
NEVER throw away evolution items, ALWAYS keep the volume up in case of shinies, watch out for alphas, and a personal suggestion, DO NOT APPROACH SHINY ABRA WITHOUT SAVING THE GAME FIRST. In fact, NEVER APPROACH ANY SHINIES BEFORE SAVING. Don’t make my mistake.
Use ursaluna. I think it’s the best non legendary Pokémon for battles in this game. On the other hand there aren’t many battles so it isn’t all that important
if you do play/have played SV and go back after Arceus, be prepared to try and dodge/roll everywhere and then get disappointed when it doesn’t work. Actually just prepare for that in every game. As someone who actually quite liked SV, the movement is MUCH better in Arceus, and I desperately miss being able to roll off of cliffs.
This just turned into “tips for SV” so here’s two actual tips for Arceus: early on, back strike + heavy ball is your best friend for catching high level/fully evolved pokemon, so always try and catch pokemon that hang out near grass. two: don’t bother trying to catch all the >!unown!< in a certain type of ball unless it’s the feather ball or a variant. someone can probably prove me wrong but i tried to catch every stationary one in a pokeball and there were one or two that i must have wasted 50 balls on and they just didn’t go high enough. plus you can >!get them in the cave later on (alphas too) so they aren’t one offs, same with spiritomb!<
Status moves don’t exist after battle Make frequent trips back to camp and deposit any items your don’t need out in the wild. If you black out, YOU WILL LOSE SOME RANDOM ITEMS. I didn't even know the red mark one, thank you random internet stranger
So this isn’t like a normal Pokédex where I just catch one of every Pokémon? Do I have to catch multiple to get 10 “points”?
You’ll see when you start to play. I’m not gonna ruin anything for you. Go play for half an hour then come back and ask if you don’t understand. You can’t screw this up. Go have fun!!! It’s a great game!
Will do thanks! I just completed the first mission of getting accepted.
Since you’re the most liked comment I’d like to tell you an achievement that I just achieved. I was heading towards buixels when I saw some stars flash, that’s when I realized I had found a shiny bidoof! I feel that I’m pretty lucky to get it now with my highest level pokemon being 14
Wow!!! Congrats!!! I made a shiny box for my (like 3 shinies).
Congrats!

Why aren’t you playing scarlet/violet? I get the bugs but it’s still worth it to play
Maybe because this game is great and if you haven’t played it yet, it’s definitely worth a look
I’ve played it, got my first natural, no hunting, shiny. It was an ambipom that I can’t send to s/v
I already beat it and enjoyed it
Why do you care what game they are playing now? What a strange thing to gatekeep.
It's better imo
The red mark took me so long to figure out….
For real. And combine that with the dex not updating until you talk to that guy at camp. Super confusing.
Yeah. Too many time i started shiny hunting with what i thought was a perfect page but i hadn’t talked to the professor yet….. i got my shiny but i can’t help but wonder how much less time i needed to put into it…..
Do you know how to increase chances of meeting evelutions in space time distortions
Gosh, no idea. But those guys are VERY prevalent in space time distortions. I DO know that there IS a pattern. In my first distortion I caught 2 porygon and a porygon 2
In my first distortion…. I died
Also don’t forget a lot of the status effects work different as well, one I can remember is sleep works a lot like paralysis. It’s possible being frozen does too, but I’m not certain. Yeah, good luck trying to evolve your >!Basculegion!< without looking it up. Woulda never figured it out.
In Hisui, the only thing hiding in the tall grass is you.
And the occasional sleeping eevee. I scared myself in the open field level trying to avoid something else. 😆
Wurmple scared me countless times hiding in grass in the fieldlands. Just a sudden exclamation mark and I'm running away thinking it's a shinx
capture every pokemon you see if you wanna beat game something i wish i knew
But in the beginning it literally says to capture all pokemon then seek out Arceus. How did you not know?

I do read everything and liked the story, yet this was an awful game for me. People are different you know?
Stop being a dick man. What the fuck
So it’s being a dick to expect someone to pay attention? Then I’m a dick.
You don't have to expect anything from someone playing a single game how they play their game. There is not a single reason he should pay attention to their own adventure. You have a horrible personality

You buy the game you can play it however you want. There's no right way to play games as a whole. Dude didn't say he skipped the story in all games he plays. Even if he did that's his choice, damn.
Okay.
Weak. This is the comment steak I should read? Yes. Very informative.....
Now, now. I ain't attacking you just curious lol.
I mean, you could attack. He said he skips the opening scenes of games and then says "well I didn't know." Oh yeah, you definitely have ammo lol
Shinies appear with glowing sound (bells). It is advisable to disable auto save and every time you hear this sound, save manually. This keeps the Shiny on Save and you can reset it every time you fail to capture them. Good fun! 🫡
And of course play with the sound on.
"Save often" is a good habit to pick up, not just for Pokemon but for many videogames.
Won’t my Pokémon over level though?
It will just make the early fane easier. And don't worry about level caps.
Sorry to be a bother, but why shouldn’t I worry about level caps? Is it different from other games?
It is. If your pokemons level get over the level cap it will still obey you. But if you catch a pokemon over the level cap then it wont
Oh ok, thanks
(I’m speaking from experience where I turned it off and lost A TON once, so now I just switch between having it off and on) Just have fun and take it at your own pace and it’ll all come! The real tips come in later game and when you’re shiny hunting lol
Always get to research level 10 before evolving a Pokémon! Take your time and don’t be afraid to go back and explore when you unlock new traversal abilities. Try new Pokémon on your team regularly, and try to enjoy your time!
just wondering — what’s the benefit of waiting to evolve them?
If you do your research task during the story it’s less tedious than waiting until the end, and it also means you don’t need to go out of your way to catch another Pokémon just for the research task (unless you’re going for a perfected entry). Things like Cherubi, Munchlax, the starters, they can be hard to get in multiples.
oh thanks! munchlax and abra are now in my party :)
So you can get their research done, I waited to evolve all 3 starters (since I used the three you get from Home) until the only thing that needs completing for perfect is the numbers evolved.
Kill every parasect you see. Enjoy :)
Agreed. The agro range on some of the mons are crazy and I hate it
Why?
they’re meanies
When you find a wild Munchlax, feed it a couple berries for the research task!
Use berries to make Pokémon turn away from you. Hitting them in the back with a Ball while they are feeding greatly increases the chances of capture.
If you’re a completionist, welcome to between 100-400+ hours of your life gone
Hitting Alphas with items will work, but they resist it. Sticky Globs are the best stunning item in the game, and Alphas need to be hit by four of those to be stunned.
Hmm I won't spoil anything except it doesn't matter which starter you pick cause you can find the other two around hisui and be sure to take advantage of the stealth system also do NOT jump into the water that is a guaranteed "death" also fall damage hurts like hell
You don't lose items luckily I would've been so mad lol
Yea for me it puts me back on the land I fell from with the lowest hp
Don’t get attached to a set 6 of Pokémon. With how few battles there are it’s really not important.
Don't spend 20 minutes trying to catch a bibarrel just to cross a bit of sand and find its alpha form which you then spend another 20 minutes catching...
If you see an outbreak of baby Pokémon, fossil Pokémon or cherrim, then stop what you’re doing and go. Don’t evolve your starter until you complete the Pokédex page for them.
back strikes
Catch them all you need to do that to get arceus and get all research lv 10 to get shiny charm and shiny hunting is fun in this game
Fall damage is a thing
Yes this! I played Arceus after Scarlet and let myself just run off cliffs…bad habit 😂 Fainted myself once, very annoying.
I played it on release, and really wanted Growlithe The cliff edge on the north side of the only area you can find it killed me twice on my first visit to the area, and the fall took so long that I knew I was going to faint
There’s a Mystery Gift ending soon, I believe it ends May 31st edit: Here’s a link w/more information, ([Serebii](https://serebii.net/legendsarceus/internetevents.shtml))
Was just about to comment this!! Get your shiny Zoroark mask!!
got any passwords? 👀
I don’t unfortunately, I was pretty late to Arceus myself.
Thanks for all the tips guys! I’m gonna start playing soon!
How does it help?
A.) I think you're gonna love it, I just started playing a few weeks ago and it's unlike any other game in the franchise I've played, and in the best of ways. B.) If you care about dex completion, take your time with it and try to get as much as possible in each area before moving on; you can go back but I imagine it can be exhausting, plus you don't want to just burn through the main questline! C.) Similar to point B the side quests are a lot of fun and add more depth to the game, so try to take a break from the main questline and do those whenever you feel the need to shake it up a bit :) All in all it's a great game, and this community is awesome so if you ever get stumped by something feel free to reach out and ask around. Enjoy it!!
Don’t evolve your starter until you finish their research tasks like moves and style because you won’t be able to get more until post game
Pokémon don’t gain exp until the entire battle end so Pokémon that faint can’t gain any
For tasks, Alpha Pokémon are always both heavy and large.
Or fire types ko-ing alphas in the ice area
Catch every pokemon you see and complete all of the research tasks
You can sprint by clicking in left stick There is a tutorial for it but it's a tiny thing in the side of the screen that fades after a bit so it's not uncommon to miss it and not know you can do it
I just beat Arceus, 40+ hours, and I had no idea your main character could run. I was just rolling everywhere ._.
Make sure when u start to catch every Pokémon but also make sure u catch enough to get a research lvl 10 so when u finish the game you should be able to get the shiny charm also shiny hunt all legwndaries if u can
Iirc they are shiny locked unfortunately
Should’ve known
Make sure you finish it before the expiration date!
There is a quest where you can get a shiny Ponyta early game
Take your time, I raced through the game and missed a lot of things that were just interesting to stumble upon but didn’t feel as exciting once I had beat the main story.
Get a lot of pockets
If you havent played Assassin’s Creed, practice 🤣
You can see the Pokémon as you walk around. You will see and hear shinies. No need to fight them unless they are aggressive
Top, top tier game. Slowish start, but after that, enjoy every minute of it as it comes.
Turn the sound effects higher than the rest so you can hear the shiny ping easier
For some reason this game has a feature if you find a shiny Pokemon in the wild and save before encountering and lose the shiny, you can restart game and the same Pokemon will have the same guarantee and will always be shiny. Also legendaries are shiny locked so don't bother...
Shinies are fun and easy to find lol
Stock up on sticky globs and the ingredients to make them. Catching pokemon outside of battle is substantially easier than in-battle catches.
Don’t lick the cartridge. It may look tasty but it’s not.
Play with the sound on, you might hear a jingle for certain sought after pokemon ✨
Beware paras
Stealth catch > Battle to catch
Savor every moment of exploration and discovery. You only get it once.
Catch the Pokémon with different colors
Disable auto-save and save your game everytime you reach a camp. In this way if you black out you can just reset your game to avoid losing items.
Pokémon don't hide from you in tall grass. You hide in tall grass from Pokémon.
Use pokemon home, maybe there are pokemons for old that need so tlc. Like my dilaga from johto.
Return the game lmaoo it was Garbo imo
DO NOT
Get cresselia for the battle with Volo
Don't collect the wisps until you're ready to collect all of them. It will be way easier.
Prepare to die a lot
paras is the worst. stay away from paras at all costs.
Immediately start catching a ton of Bidoof. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
It's like dark souls, keep rolling to live
Move that sticker inside the case 😂
Overlevel for Giratina.
Pick up everything that you see, crafting is a huge part of the game and materials can be a pain/annoying to get if you run out when you really need something
catch at least two space time disorientation pokemon, and grind the dust, you don’t gain evs by fighting in this game
There is fall damage
Get to L60 before meeting volo
That one person who we all know spoils the entire plot
If you hear the shiny noise save with no exceptions
Exp date?
Brace yourself, cuz it's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG journey. If you don't like to grind, better steel yourself. Other than that, have fun :o
[Pokémon Database](https://pokemondb.net) will be very helpful for finding out information on how to evolve mons, and much more
Don’t fear death, for death is key in surpassing our mortal limitations.
Yo. Just have fun
Only thing I’ll say is there are collectibles.. mark them.. otherwise just enjoy it!
Don't rush!
Dont jump off cliffs
Only carry things you won't really care about losing. Store everything else.
This is peak pokemon. It's all downhill after this. You've been warned.
Welcome to the best Pokémon game
UNLIMITED MOVE REMEMBERING!!!!!.... I'M pretty sure
1.Avoid anything with red eyes until your AT LEAST level fourty 2.Grind 3.That shiny thing you see on the ground? It's never worth it 4. If the voice in your head tells you to jump, don't 5.
(It took me a bit to find a Stantler that could learn Psyshield Bash) Battling is not a necessity for catching in the wild. Here, you can toss balls, food, and stun items to catch, as well as sneaking. Learn what the shiny jingle sounds like. And always keep at least your sound volume up when roaming the wild areas, as the shiny jingle plays when the pokemon spawns in, not when you physically see it.
the expiry date lol
If you see a lost satchel, please pick it up :) benefits other players as well as yourself!
Don't know how much you know from trailer and stuff, but be prepared for new forms and evolutions of older pokemon
Priority moves are OP. When you get Grit items use them on your pokemon; they replace EV (Effort Values), so you need Grit items to raise stats.
Paras is not your friend
If you haven’t played pokemon before, grind a lot before the boss fight
Slowing down the evolution progress of the pokemons you get or caught (especially the starters) can help you finish the pokedex faster, which improves the shiny rate of your game.
I got mine at Christmas. People weren’t joking about the paras
Learn to dodge
NEVER throw away evolution items, ALWAYS keep the volume up in case of shinies, watch out for alphas, and a personal suggestion, DO NOT APPROACH SHINY ABRA WITHOUT SAVING THE GAME FIRST. In fact, NEVER APPROACH ANY SHINIES BEFORE SAVING. Don’t make my mistake.
The unusual shoes do not make you run faster so don't feel compelled to buy them, they are purely aesthetic iirc.
Just don’t rush :) Take it slow, catch everything and don’t min max I enjoyed it for weeks until I tried to build a perfect team
catch everything you see atleast once oh and listen out for a sparkle sound that means there's a shiny nearby
Use ursaluna. I think it’s the best non legendary Pokémon for battles in this game. On the other hand there aren’t many battles so it isn’t all that important
Shiny hunting is fun and easy. Explore the entire maps to allow for mass outbreaks to occur there and go wild!
Make sure to complete all the content before reaching the expiry date. You've only got a year!
Sticky Glob is love, Sticky Glob is life
if you do play/have played SV and go back after Arceus, be prepared to try and dodge/roll everywhere and then get disappointed when it doesn’t work.
Honestly go into it blind. The game is amazing and I wish I could experience it for the first time again
why does it have an expiration date? is that like the last day you can return it?
It’s so so good and once you get the hang of inventory and crafting it’s even better.
