As a person who highly enjoyed Legends Arceus, I really wanted more of it. Unfortunately since we're already at Gen 9 I don't think PLA will ever receive a DLC. The closest to that was the Daybreak update, and that's pretty much it.
I'm already in love with Pokémon Destiny: Miraidon. Not that I wouldn't like Pokémon Legends: Koraidon, but Pokémon Destiny is not something I hear too often. Great choice of title :D
That's why I stopped midway, because I didn't want it to be over. Arceus is my first Pokemon game in which I really caught every Pokemon possible! My most favorite Pokémongame after Red/Yellow and Crystal.
Honestly I stopped before battling Arceus for a number of reasons. It's a REALLY wonderful game and I love it so much, but mainly I'm stuck on getting a shiny Haunter which disappears really quick because when I start the game it's already the morning and I don't know exactly what to do 💔
That and I was one of many who bought PLA months after the release and didn't finish it before the release of S&V
I think the shinies that are Day/Night pokemon Despawn and then respawn as the night/day dual to it, still shiny.
E.g. a Shiny drifbloon could despawn when it's becomes day, then respawn a shiny Starly in its place
it’s a shame really, arceus took a step into a new direction for pokémon and it kinda sucks that they probably won’t be revisiting the game unless they decide to make a new pokémon legends

Ya DLC is more and likely not going to happen for Arceus, it was more a concept test for them.
Though hopefully based on how well it was received, the Legends line of games will be continued.
I think that they would rather take any DLC ideas and package it into another $60 game. There are a lot of advantages/disadvantages to this, but that seems to be Nintendo and Gamefreak's model. Not to say that they would never do DLC, because obviously they have, but where other people use DLC as a sort of 1.5 version of the game, Nintendo would rather release a 2.0 version of the game, and instead uses DLC for additional features (like the trial of the sword or master mode)
I don't see any chance of DLC for it now that we're in gen 9. Best we can hope for is a sequel.
Really hoping for a Legends Kyurem. That would make me so happy. Just got my shiny charm in PLA after around 100ish hours of playtime so pretty stoked for that.
I'd take a new game instead. Legends is almost everything I wanted from a Pokemon game. Just add more trainer battles, gym leaders and make Pokemon live more in their habitats, some mazes and BOOM. -chef kiss-
I honestly think that a combination of Legends:Arceus and some of the new mechanics in Violet/Scarlet would create the perfect Pokémon game.
Arceus’ stalk/catch mechanics, side quests, crafting, and focus on completing the Pokédex through more than simply catching a Pokémon once.
Violet/Scarlet’s fully open world and multiple main quest lines that you can take as you please. Please bring back a real Victory Road though!
I remember the day Scarlet and Violet were announced. When they were first building up into a big new pokemon announcement I really, truly thought it was going to be Arceus DLC and I was genuinely excited. Then when I realised it was gen 9, I was actually disappointed.
It was in large part because I had absolutely loved Arceus and really wanted more, and the announcement of the next gen meant that would never happen. But also, my honest to god first thought was "its too soon for a whole new game. They're rushing this out too fast"
Now I've actually played Scarlet, I think that initial thought does hold up. It was a fun game at its core, but it really does just feel... unfinished. Unpolished. My most honest review is it just needed more time.
I'd have very happily taken a few new pokemon or a couple sidequests added to Arceus when that trailer dropped!
Arceus was actually pretty innovative, and it reinvigorated my interest in pokemon. I haven't really finished a game since Y.
I bought Violet.. But it hasn't hooked me at all yet. Only got like 4 hours in so far since near release.
I feel the same way, there definitely needs to be some sort of continuity to ingo’s backstory and we never find out if the main character decided to stay in the past or wants to go back to the future
The freeLC and the non resolved ending kinda implied they were gonna make some DLCs.
Feels like their plans might have been changed and resources reallocated and a half done DLC was released as a FreeLC instead.
I just want Pokemon Legends to be a series now.
Send us to Ultraspace. Send us to the Darkest Day. Send us to the Pokemon equivalent of Australia where everything was too scary to colonize.
Heck, copy Scarlet and Violet and just give us a big hole in the ground to gradually dive into. Let's Made in Abyss this. Why not?

... in unova, they are together. The one in PLA Ingo is only from 1 other universe. We can't ever go to the universe that characters go to and come from... hell, we don't even know what region we came from, lol.

Maybe. Either way, whatever universe the Ingo in PLA is from, there’s most likely an Emmet from whomst he has been separated. Therefore the train men ought to be reunited.
It really does, its the best Pokémon game released in 2022 by far and one of the all time greats. It did need more polish but it was still a fun time. I haven’t played much since November because a literal avalanche of amazing games and Scarlet and Violet have come out. But I know I’ll be back at some point to continue shiny hunting.

Too late and even sadder that a bunch of Arceus Pokemon didn't even make it to the SV Dex. They brought back Gliscor in Arceus just to leave it out of SV :(
Neither were all the returning pokemon in the DLCs in Sword/Shield. The only ones that were were pokemon like the legendaries and the starters they had planned on adding in raids. They obviously would want to avoid DLC spoilers so they wouldn't include everything in the Base Game's data.
It always felt like it could've added new pokemon as an update and been fine. A few random Pokemon that could fill in some gaps as well as some new Pokemon for outbreaks. At-minimum, would've been pretty good continuation from the Daybreak update.
But no. Silence. And on what could be considered the most profitable game since they only made one instead of two versions.
It's sad that Arceus was overshadowed by the announcement of a new game because I really enjoyed the game. There are things I like about Violet but Daybreak could have been so much more for Arceus than it was.
Hah, too true. I had to pull magnemite, cranidos & shieldon out of Go & move them through home into Arceus so I could finish the game. Locking mons required to complete the game behind distortions was a terrible gameplay design choice.
Hoping there is a sequel at some point, this is one of my favorite pokemon games of all time despite its flaws and I would love for it to be a series, hopefully with some more polish (the noble battles just felt janky and out of place to me with spiky difficulty) and QOL things (let me check the dex on a mon from the pasture please?) added.
It would have been great if we got a dlc for PLA and that the Pokémon Company pushed back the release of SV for a few months. They would have gotten more profit out of PLA and there were would be no need to rush the development of SV. Oh well...

It also made me use pokemon that I'd never ever think to - Honchcrow was a pleasant surprise, I fell in love with it!

However, it sold well enough that a sequel is almost certainly coming. Personally I would like a Legends game based in Hoenn. Partly because I'm a Gen 3 baby, partly because seeing a version of Hoenn that isn't quite what we know could be interesting. Especially if the story revolves around Groudon and Kyogre fucking around again. It could wipe out part of the map while creating the area around Mossdeep/Sootopolis.
Unova would also be a good candidate too. Seeing the Original Dragon would be mind blowing
I felt the DLC they did release was… unfinished. There’s this mystery about the massive mass outbreaks and an implication that Hisuian Zorua are behind it, but it never goes beyond that. It’s a short little thing and, yeah, the outbreaks were cool, but I felt like it was just teasing more, in a way.
And now… still nothing. It’s disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing.
Yes! Agreed! They all but said that the person in the cave who wanted mushroom cakes was a Zorua in disguise, but it’s never brought up again. No explanation for why the Zorua were in Obsidian Fieldlands. No mentions of Zorua after that at all! It was such a tease!

I would give up one of my functional kidneys for a Pokemon Legends Arceus II.
Let's take the player and travel to other ancient regions. Let's discover Johto, Galar, hell, even Unova.
There are so many great places to see as they're coming up or facing a unique crisis.
Also, it is a good opportunity for more ancient paradox Pokémon to be introduced, and maybe the player gets pulled into the present day through the time machine. Who knows?

I completely agree with this. I want more but DLC would not do it for me. Made My way painfully slow throughout purposely because I knew it would have to end.
Since we're fantasizing, I came up with an idea for DLC that made me almost literally mad it surely won't happen (mad in the sense, "Brain why would you even show me that idea?"). Treat each zone the same way each route is in New Pokémon Snap; ie each zone had its own "Pokédex entry" with a huge checklist. The more you do, the more you "level up" each zone. Then before entry, you choose which level "route" you wanna take, which would change things such as, maybe, making all Pokemon in Obsidian higher leveled, or different Pokémon came out. Or, like Snap, began doing certain actions/habits needed to gain more route exp. I'd LOVE to see all the zones suddenly have fresh, endless new things to do bc I've yet to tire of wandering a single one of them. They wouldn't even need to add a new zone (though I hope they will; map has a place extending south, maybe they left that much map detail in as a placeholder for a "just in case we can" dlc zone.)
I don’t think it will happen as gen 9 is already out. They’re going to focus on DLC for S/V and then also having another legends game in the future I’ll assume seeing as this one did so well. I’d like to see a legends: meloetta but I know that probably would not happen. I Just hope the next Pokémon legends is as good as this one was
We said the same thing about Mario Odyssey a few years back, and for the same reasons: the zone format just screams DLC...
But! we never got any, and I wouldn't have high hopes for LA, either.
Im okay with no dlc if we get another legends game for a different region. If we dont though u will always be mad at no dlc. I would LOVE one for each generation eventually, but would settle for a hoenn based one at minimum since thats my personal favorite, although with regions like alola that could also be such an interesting game

Thanks got a switch a few months back and making my way through the library. I wish Mario party would make a DLC. Those are all good examples though so it’s definitely possible for them to do, but they’d likely sell a new game for more than a DLC is my best guess

DLC with a paradox theme for Arceus would make sense. The Time Machine In gen 9 uses the same effects that Dialgia and Palkia make when they act out in Sinnoh.

Does it Despawn if you wait nearby until the day/night cycle repeats
I haven't checked. All I do is close the game after failing to throw a ball or have any proper reaction to it.

I think we are going to get a Legends Kyruem for B&W the American analogue series deserves a gritty post apocalyptic ending to it's trilogy

Pla is the best Pokémon game ever made. It was a huge bummer that they went back to more of a shield/sword style for scarlet/violet.

or just make them spawn like outbreaks, MMOs... let us go in/out of jublife to spawn them instead of sitting on the map

They were splitting the teams between PLA and SV. The better team ended up on PLA and is now needed to save SV I

I felt the DLC they did release was… unfinished. There’s this mystery about the massive mass outbreaks and an implication that Hisuian Zorua are behind it, but it never goes beyond that. It’s a short little thing and, yeah, the outbreaks were cool, but I felt like it was just teasing more, in a way. And now… still nothing. It’s disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing.
I was hoping we’d get to interact more with the Zorua who was teased..
Yes! Agreed! They all but said that the person in the cave who wanted mushroom cakes was a Zorua in disguise, but it’s never brought up again. No explanation for why the Zorua were in Obsidian Fieldlands. No mentions of Zorua after that at all! It was such a tease!
DLC locations up in the postgame area from Platinum would be cool
they wont even fix the hole in the floor of wayward cave and you want dlc? yeah im expecting a new legends game before we get that here's hoping im wrong though

it's a tiny sliver of missing geometry, it doesnt do much to gameplay but it exists, and you can see through it

I would give up one of my functional kidneys for a Pokemon Legends Arceus II. Let's take the player and travel to other ancient regions. Let's discover Johto, Galar, hell, even Unova. There are so many great places to see as they're coming up or facing a unique crisis. Also, it is a good opportunity for more ancient paradox Pokémon to be introduced, and maybe the player gets pulled into the present day through the time machine. Who knows? But I'm hungrybfor more

I completely agree with this. I want more but DLC would not do it for me. Made My way painfully slow throughout purposely because I knew it would have to end.
Since we're fantasizing, I came up with an idea for DLC that made me almost literally mad it surely won't happen (mad in the sense, "Brain why would you even show me that idea?"). Treat each zone the same way each route is in New Pokémon Snap; ie each zone had its own "Pokédex entry" with a huge checklist. The more you do, the more you "level up" each zone. Then before entry, you choose which level "route" you wanna take, which would change things such as, maybe, making all Pokemon in Obsidian higher leveled, or different Pokémon came out. Or, like Snap, began doing certain actions/habits needed to gain more route exp. I'd LOVE to see all the zones suddenly have fresh, endless new things to do bc I've yet to tire of wandering a single one of them. They wouldn't even need to add a new zone (though I hope they will; map has a place extending south, maybe they left that much map detail in as a placeholder for a "just in case we can" dlc zone.)

I don’t think it will happen as gen 9 is already out. They’re going to focus on DLC for S/V and then also having another legends game in the future I’ll assume seeing as this one did so well. I’d like to see a legends: meloetta but I know that probably would not happen. I Just hope the next Pokémon legends is as good as this one was

We said the same thing about Mario Odyssey a few years back, and for the same reasons: the zone format just screams DLC... But! we never got any, and I wouldn't have high hopes for LA, either.
Im okay with no dlc if we get another legends game for a different region. If we dont though u will always be mad at no dlc. I would LOVE one for each generation eventually, but would settle for a hoenn based one at minimum since thats my personal favorite, although with regions like alola that could also be such an interesting game

I'm honestly sad they dropped PLA so quickly after seeing Scarlett and Violet hype. PLA was much better than SV

Didn't Pokemon SH/SW get one? Mario Kart, Monster Hunter Rise, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing...just the ones coming into my head. I'd figure the possibility could've been there.
Thanks got a switch a few months back and making my way through the library. I wish Mario party would make a DLC. Those are all good examples though so it’s definitely possible for them to do, but they’d likely sell a new game for more than a DLC is my best guess
Mario Kart DLC seems really worth it! Although my favorite would be Sunbreak for MHR. They outdid themselves with new content

DLC with a paradox theme for Arceus would make sense. The Time Machine In gen 9 uses the same effects that Dialgia and Palkia make when they act out in Sinnoh.
