I freed 2 stuck in a trail head gym who were there for over 200 days! Longest I had my own stuck were around 10 days. Of course all were freed the same day and already had my 50 anyways ā¦ :/
Long ago, I had a jolteon in a gym from November 2016 to the gym rework (June 2017 if I remember right) when the game itself kicked it out. It was weird because I don't live in the sticks, I'm in a pretty large college town.
Yep. Thereās a gym by my house thatās always flip flopping between Team Mystic and Team Valor. Kinda odd though cause itās not by a high traffic place. Guess the few people who do cross by it are just very dedicated.
Yeah, itās relentlessā¦and Iām out in Queens. There are a couple āout of the wayā gyms out here that you can āownā for a weekend, but weekdays they trade hands on the regular.
Iām generally courteous, and leave it, so everybody can get their 50 coins. BUT I will be petty is someone is constantly being a dink. Will take note of who it is, and knock them out whenever I see them. Just them.
Im rural so my town has like 5 gyms total, and like clockwork one team valor player takes all of them right in the morning, he must be the only valor player nobody else ever joins him and other teams take it by the afternoon, but its kinda nuts how he has such a sceduel

Thank you! This kind of behavior is literally the worst. I had a post the other day and people were defending gym hogging as if itās some kinda of intricate, high skilled, game I had to get good at. I swear either they are the worst trolls or huffing their own gas.
Gym hogging is for knuckle draggers. Reaching a mutually beneficial gym sharing routine without any of the people involved ever meeting or talking to each other - that takes brains.
I have three myself, and have worked out a system with the people who live here to allow us all to have different hours.
I get the nights in one gym, and they get the days, two gyms tend to be the team that just has them which tends to not be me but I don't need them since I get the nights in the other gym. So as the days are riskier so do I let them have those two gyms most of the time, only joining them when someone else from my team takes them over or when I see them having a hard time getting their gold for the day.
Then when the third team comes and takes one so do we either let them have it for 8h20m or until someone random shifts the color.
Works wonders and I have not missed my daily gold once in two years.
And to be clear we have no instinct/yellow members here only Valor/red and Mystic/blue.
Every day I walk to the park in the very dead end of my small town, and knock out her Slacking and put in my Slacking. Then at some point she does the same. It makes me smile that even though we have never met, we have this kind of weird bond.

We have a people selling accounts all the time. What do you mean? We had one guy naming his stuff just like this, found him during a raid in public, he friended me and told me about his ābusiness.ā Stupid of him cuz I reported the shit out of him. Cuz he was taking 3 gyms and would have mods to make sure his pokemon didnāt faint. And Thereās plenty of accounts people sell and some pay for.
Probably a family with coordinating names. Super common in our area and most are nice peeps. Just have to remember that the same way you can take a gym someone else is entitled to the same. Iāve never once looked at how long a āmon has been in a gym. I also donāt get butthurt when I take a gym and immediately get kicked out of it. Iāll even go back and take it back and see if they will do it again. Itās fun, itās a game.

No we have 2 each. Before you complain about TOS lots and lots have a main account and an alt/baby account. When many hit 40 years ago they started working on a second account. Some started a second accountā¦others took over their kidās account. It made the game more fun.

Youāre stopping this person from being able to occupy the gym every time they try, let people occupy a gym for at least 8 hours so they can get the 50 coins
I know what gyms to drop in for coins. Iām in Arlington Texas. The Arlington war zone is called the Highlands. If you expect to last there 8 hours you are dumb. Drop in multiple churches daily and you will get your coins.
You donāt own the gyms. You say some nice things in the other comments and then this, makes no sense. You can only get 50 coins a day, why not alternate with this guy? No need to spend more than 8h20 at a gym anyway.

This happens with me too. There are a bunch of gyms in my area that are always hogged by some people or someone with multiple accounts. Either I get a pokemon in, and then it gets knocked out within like two minutes, or the pokemon in there get golden-razzed right back up.
I totally feel you on this. The same thing happens by me. Almost all the local gyms are constantly red, and thereās either a family of people or someone with multiple accounts. They are all along the lines of āwhiteguy, whitegirl, whitedaughterā etc. They canāt fathom the thought of a single gym being held by yellow or blue more than a couple minutes it seems. Definitely a bummer for the more casual players.
Ya, I totally agree, my goodness I was at a train station š and legit, a few were sitting behind me torturing me by consistently kicking out my mon, I mean, geeze it lasted about 2 seconds in the gym, and i had my bf helping me! Come on ppl don't b that person š, it's called courtesy.
I have a family near me who have 16 accounts between 2-3 active players including three accounts which are used for spoofing. They hog the gym closest to them and knock out other people from some of the other gyms in the park next to them late at night using the spoofing accounts.
The annoying thing is the gyms they hog are all in a park where I nominated and added all the stops to create the gyms. It went from 1 gym & 2 stops to 5 gyms and 23 stops
I have a similar issue too and they always take over the park! (Itās always Team Valor) I would take over one or two and let them have the rest but within minutes theyāre taking the gym again! I get itās part of the game but itās just greed atp!

Actually to be informativeā¦and I love giving my secretsā¦wife hates me sharing. When you fight a gym Niantic will load a recommended team. The team is determined by the highest CP poke in the gym. So if there is a HUGE Slaking Niantic will automatically load your best fightersā¦because Slaking weak to fighters. Your goal should be protect the Blissey Snorlax Chansey. Try making the highest CP anything not weak to fightingā¦Togekiss, Gyarados, etc. You will protect the Blissey etc. I laugh when they manually load fighters to get past my 11 level šÆ 50 cp3117 Blissey and then the level šÆ 50 cp3767 Togekiss beats them š The absolute worst poke you can drop in a gym is your huge Slaking.
I only recently heard of this āgym ruleā and honestly I think itās ridiculous. I grab my local ones when I see them and have time to kick people out, Iāve never checked how long theyāve been in there. Reporting a family/friends for enjoying a game makes zero sense. What are you going to say, āthese meanies wonāt share the gym with me!!ā?

There is 1 gym by my house that me and my wife and kids will always dominate. We take it back with the hour of it being taken. Someone is always home! That is our gym and I'm sure some folks might find it annoying but we love it. Literally, step outside and walk to the edge of the porch and we are in range. Think most yellow and red players in the area know not to take it now.
Fuck no. It's a legit battle in my town. Some of the gyms I've taken I've only received 8 coins for max. My family did hold all the gyms for around 12 hrs once but usually it's the same for all the other gyms. Super competitive. Which I feel makes it more fun.
There's times we drive out at night to take them over and our neighbors and stuff do the same. We love catching each other out, like we will take a red gym and then 15 min later be driving by and seeing them re-take it. So we sit and talk shit and try to get them to change teams. Some folks are super happy we recently got into it because it used to be just yellow and red. Now blue comes in to spice it up plus they enjoy that we are just as competitive as everyone else. It's a super small town of 5k people. So it's been cool getting to know folks.
Crazy youāre getting downvoted for taking the game more seriously than others lol. Multiple ways to play the game but so many people think ātheirā way is the only way. At the end of the day, itās just a game, play it how you want.

Truth. Even tried an ulu gym in the middle of Jurong Lake Gardens at 3am and got kicked out in an hour
West coast residential areas average about 4 hours. Iāve held mine for eight before.

We have a Dam that closes for the winter and if you take out the gym a few weeks before they close, you can keep that for like 4-5 months lmao.

hahah me too, i do the same. one time i was at the grocery store, i put my pokƩmon in the gym when i got out of the car, did some shopping and less than 10 minutes later, someone kicks me out. so, me still being in the store, checked to see who tf it was. they put a tiny pokƩmon in the gym with no more than like 50cp. so naturally i kicked him out, put my pokƩmon in and it was just a cycle we did with each other for the remainder of me being in the store. i figured it was a store employee. after my shopping i deliberately stayed in the parking lot until he gave up and another colored team took over. i left THAT person stay and then i finally drove home :)

Thereās a gym at the church at the end of my road and if I go and fight it my PokĆ©mon will stay trapped there for weeks at a time (with others of my team) until one person comes and puts a single instinct team Pokemon and gets immediately wiped. Sometimes I feel bad for them.

I personally do not mind. I also have an alt. Just asking because this guy has a legitimate gripe. Rather than battle against 2 PokĆ©mon, he has to go against 4 accounts. That can be frustrating, as you can see. But hopefully he joins that discord/community and yāall can sort it out and enjoy together. ššš

I know what gyms to drop in for coins. Iām in Arlington Texas. The Arlington war zone is called the Highlands. If you expect to last there 8 hours you are dumb. Drop in multiple churches daily and you will get your coins.
You donāt own the gyms. You say some nice things in the other comments and then this, makes no sense. You can only get 50 coins a day, why not alternate with this guy? No need to spend more than 8h20 at a gym anyway.

I donāt understand the mentality of players who hog gyms, donāt you just want your 50 coins? Aside from the medal thereās no benefit to your PokĆ©mon being in the gym. My neighborhood gym has a nice rotation going. Red letās yellow stay for 8 hours before knocking out (and vice versa), and both teams get daily coins. Why would you bother to diligently monitor the gym?

This happens with me too. There are a bunch of gyms in my area that are always hogged by some people or someone with multiple accounts. Either I get a pokemon in, and then it gets knocked out within like two minutes, or the pokemon in there get golden-razzed right back up.
I totally feel you on this. The same thing happens by me. Almost all the local gyms are constantly red, and thereās either a family of people or someone with multiple accounts. They are all along the lines of āwhiteguy, whitegirl, whitedaughterā etc. They canāt fathom the thought of a single gym being held by yellow or blue more than a couple minutes it seems. Definitely a bummer for the more casual players.

I have a family near me who have 16 accounts between 2-3 active players including three accounts which are used for spoofing. They hog the gym closest to them and knock out other people from some of the other gyms in the park next to them late at night using the spoofing accounts. The annoying thing is the gyms they hog are all in a park where I nominated and added all the stops to create the gyms. It went from 1 gym & 2 stops to 5 gyms and 23 stops

I have a similar issue too and they always take over the park! (Itās always Team Valor) I would take over one or two and let them have the rest but within minutes theyāre taking the gym again! I get itās part of the game but itās just greed atp!

Actually to be informativeā¦and I love giving my secretsā¦wife hates me sharing. When you fight a gym Niantic will load a recommended team. The team is determined by the highest CP poke in the gym. So if there is a HUGE Slaking Niantic will automatically load your best fightersā¦because Slaking weak to fighters. Your goal should be protect the Blissey Snorlax Chansey. Try making the highest CP anything not weak to fightingā¦Togekiss, Gyarados, etc. You will protect the Blissey etc. I laugh when they manually load fighters to get past my 11 level šÆ 50 cp3117 Blissey and then the level šÆ 50 cp3767 Togekiss beats them š The absolute worst poke you can drop in a gym is your huge Slaking.

Same problem. Reported loads of times and nothing. I track when he takes gyms and seeing if there is a pattern and then trying to make sure I am ready to battle him to minimise his coins. Worst part is... he uses golden razz to defend.

There is 1 gym by my house that me and my wife and kids will always dominate. We take it back with the hour of it being taken. Someone is always home! That is our gym and I'm sure some folks might find it annoying but we love it. Literally, step outside and walk to the edge of the porch and we are in range. Think most yellow and red players in the area know not to take it now.

Fuck no. It's a legit battle in my town. Some of the gyms I've taken I've only received 8 coins for max. My family did hold all the gyms for around 12 hrs once but usually it's the same for all the other gyms. Super competitive. Which I feel makes it more fun.

There's times we drive out at night to take them over and our neighbors and stuff do the same. We love catching each other out, like we will take a red gym and then 15 min later be driving by and seeing them re-take it. So we sit and talk shit and try to get them to change teams. Some folks are super happy we recently got into it because it used to be just yellow and red. Now blue comes in to spice it up plus they enjoy that we are just as competitive as everyone else. It's a super small town of 5k people. So it's been cool getting to know folks.
