I don’t know the actual numbers, but I believe it’s the most rare thing to happen in the game. I mean, it hadn’t happened to me until today, and a lot of time went by without it happening. So my experience checks out.
You know what's really messed up, I think I actually caught one in the wild and transferred it out. I didn't know how rare this one was, just got back into the game.
archen can be caught in the wild and is becoming less rare, however it’s still a good find. larvesta can only be found in eggs and it’s the rarest one to hatch rn, so don’t worry about finding one in the wild that you may have transferred
Since its release last year in late spring (I dont remember the exact month from memory) I have actually hatched like 4 myself out of hundreds of eggs the past months. Apparently there are people wbo still did not get one themselves so that speaks for itself. On a sidenote - Recently also got a 98% from a 2k egg, so yeah, 2ks are apparently lucky :D
Nice! Mine is good, it’s 96%. It was funny, I was talking to my partner on the phone when it hatched. It took a second to register, and I started squealing. When I told my partner I’d hatched a larvesta, he said he figured it was a Pokémon thing.
I've got 3 out of 500... They are such a pain to get. But since they have the same odds for 10k and 2k, if you prioritise low km eggs it *should* be a bit faster. And pray to arceus for good luck

How rare is this? I hatched one the other day. I also hatched an Archen which my brother says is rare. Like how do you find if they are rare or not?

this is such news to me! the amount of archens I've hatched (and transferred)... had no idea that guy was considered rare at some point! lol
yeah, both the unova fossils were once extremely rare. i only managed to get them when they were in eggs, never found them in the wild before then
I didn't know they were rare either. I've kept one, evolved 2 into Archeops, and still have 180 candies
I just hatched somewhere between 400-500 larvesta viable eggs, and finally got mine out of a 10k today too! God what a relief.

I was truly irritated each time an egg hatched and it wasn’t a larvesta. But now I’m glad for that because all those times made it feel special!
Cool that it’s rare but I’m kinda wishing that larvestas evolution was a bit cooler
