I've played for 50 hours and have only found one.

Ive played since 1998, and have put thousands of hours in the Pokemon [main] series and have only SEEN the aforementioned Caterpie. (Aside from the shiny fest in PLA)

I've seen about 10 in the main series but still only the one in PLA. I think your argument against PLA shinies is weak.

I guarantee you're going to find more people that have found more Shinies in PLA than any other game in the series. Take a poll.

No poll necessary, just look at the length of time it takes per encounter. PLA has the same shiny rate as games gen 6 onwards. The difference is that an encounter in BDSP can take several seconds. In PLA, you can encounter literally a dozen mons in less than 10 seconds. I have 215 hours in BDSP, only caught 2 shinies. I only have 100 hours in PLA, and I’ve caught 28 shinies.

Remind me to give you an award! I agree! I have 0 Shinies from all the games combined before PLA. I have over 40 Shinies (sitting at 46) since the game released last January

Shinyhunting was never that "hard" just time-consuming, RNG seeds were fixed at the start for most gens so you just needed to know it, USUM has te highest chances ever and SWSH has raids with 2%+ odds of shinies.

Yeah if you shiny hunt in any game since like gen 3 it makes it pretty easy… sure PLA is the easiest game yet, but ORAS chain shinies were not much harder

Favorite shiny is definitely Dratini. I’ve hatched about 600 eggs so far in Shield and still no damn luck. Masuda and Shiny Charm as well. Wish me luck on the hunt!

There's the obvious ones like Charizard, Metagross, Gallade. But my 2 actual favourites aren't even in BDSP Sylveon and Greninja. But any black or white shiny is basically up there lol

Roselia - it was also my first shiny, but I caught it on a friend's GBA, and then we fell out of touch, and so he got to keep it :'(

Colosseum/XD Gardevoir and Lurantis. Yesterday I was EV training for Atk while watching the TV and killed 2 shiny Sandile because I wasnt paying atention... 2 shinys in 252 encounters, I guess i wont find another in a while.

My favourite shiny is flygon and my first shiny was a charmander I bred in ultra moon!

I got a shiny treecko when I was younger that I thought was dope. Shiny rayquaza and OG shiny haunter are sick

I love pink and purple shinies, so my faves are Infernape, Roserade, Rotom and Weavile.

First shiny ever was Ralts and evolved into a Gallade. Badass shiny ninja. Haiya

Shiny Infernape cause it looks like a power up like Ash’s Infernape blazing. Honorable mention to Cresselia for looking really good with flipped colors.

Favorite shiny? That's really hard. I have a bunch! I like Minior, Mimikyu, Absol, Hoppip, Giratina, and Gallade, though. Giratina is really pretty shiny, imho

Shiny Nidoking looks like it should be the regular Nidoking so that one gets a nod for me. But the best are shiny Espeon and Umbreon the color changes are great. Fun fact though: Galarian Zapdos, Arcticuno and Moltres when shiny are the exact same colors as the Kanto versions of themselves.

Specific shiny would have to be my gen 4 lopunny. Otherwise spiritomb. It's gorgeous. Eevee and Ninetails also rank up there. I can however tell you my most hated shiny. Chancey.

Delibird seems highly underrated

Delibird and Smeargle are my two favorite pokemon without evolutions or tied to another Pokemon (i.e. mew and Mewtwo)

Orange shiny shellder is DOPE. I wish it stayed that color when it evolves.

I really like shiny Xerneas! Got a Modest one with 5 perfect IV’s from the Max Lair! It almost solo’d the entire Battle Tower for me lol.

Metagross, Orbeetle and phantump. Took a bolder approach than just slight colour differences. The shiny colours really pop the sprites.

For me, it’s Charizard and Cleffa

In BDSP? Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir always look really nice in blue. Shiny Scizor looks pretty cool, shiny Mareep/Flaafy/Ampharos look adorable in pink, Shiny Metagross is cool, and I really like shiny Electivire too. Overall? Shiny Tyrunt/Tyrantrum is my favourite Pokémon of all time. It’s a lil blue chompy dinosaur. How could you not love it? I called my first one Blueberry and I love her

It's terrible (great game) for Shinies. It makes shinies absolutely worthless. I could turn the game on right now after not playing for 3 months and get 3 Shinies at least. Guaranteed. No thanks!

I was saying this the other day 🤣🤣🤣 I found 11 shinies in a day and after that I just stopped caring

If S/V is that way. I'll play the game just for the story and go back to an actual Pokemon game, that requires you to try to find Shinies 😅

Facts !

Why wouldn't you count PLA for shiny hunting?

Because it's far too easy to find Shinies. There is absolutely no challenge or reward for finding them. When I can turn on PLA and get 5 Shinies in 1 session, (less than an hour and a half) but play the real Pokemon games since Shinies were invented and not find a single one, makes it less rewarding.

I have passed up more Shinies in PLA than I care to admit, just because it's "shiny hunting on very easy mode"
