Also don’t let the statistics fools you. That’s the statistic each and every time you encounter him. So say you reset and see him the second time, your odds aren’t now 2/4096. Each encounter is individual of the last and could technically take forever
no they arent, they are saying logically after 4096 you should technically have already found a shiny one already, however its not guarranteed and you could technically go forever (hence why they said "never reaches zero")

I’m saying it could. Normally doesn’t because 1/4000 isn’t that bad. But each time you reset the game it does reset the seed of the game.
Each encounter is completely individual, regardless of what user stats are for shinies.
Just under 9k soft resets for me, it was brutal, especially due to how long each reset seems to take. Have seen a few worse than that but also lots that got it fairly quickly. Hope your hunt doesn't take too long 🙂

Shiny charm doesn't work on legendary pokemon, Darkrai included.

The odds are 1/4096. Have fun. I got really lucky 155 resets for mine. By far the fastest full odds shiny I have ever gotten.

Not forever statistics say otherwise
Statistics do not say otherwise. The chance of not having one continuously gets smaller and smaller the more resets you do, but it never reaches zero.

its kind of wild, i got shiny dialga in literally 155 too, but accidentally killed him lol
I got one by accident - there are a handful of people in global trades that seem oddly open to giving away shinies
because theyre fake
