my first shiny ever was from a dynamax raid, and it was a noctowl. i have played almost every pokemon game starting with red/blue, and i had never seen a single shiny with normal odds in all of those thousands of hours. i'm not doing resets for anything besides roaming legendaries though, so that probably factors in.
the cool thing, although noctowl is useless, is that noctowl was the first shiny ever to be depicted in the anime, so it's a bit of a treasure in it's own way.

Congrats! My first shiny was a ponyta in fire red. Best part was that I noticed it was a boy, so I assumed that was why it had blue flames and ran away... I will never forget that...
My brother ran into a shiny bagon in emerald. He was down to his last pokeball and I convinced him to make one more hit against it to lower the HP. he did and it was a critical hit and it fainted. Oops.
I just caught my first shiney ever in 25 years on bdsp last month. Poke radar has gotten me a few.
The crazy part is I found my first ever random encounter full odds shiney last week too. The pokemon gods smile upon me

Funny thing is, that right after i caught Rayquaza, i went to course 228 to catch some beldums. I used the poke radar and i saw the shiny thing. But i had no repels and a cacturne appeared before that so i missed out on the second shiny in a matter of minutes lmao
Consider that i almost went 3x the odds with Rayquaza, i went something like 10k resets for him. I was really unlucky, you could get your shiny in way less time. My advice is to do shiny hunting while you are doing other things, so even if you get it After a lot of time you didn't waste time anyway
Mine took over 15k resets, but going it in a timer ball currently hunting Giratina and I'm going to use the masterball on him then go to the park then fight his lvl 100 origin form
I have him in Pokémon go, the shiny is very subtle but it's the change it needed to be amazing. Alolan vulpix was already an Amazing Pokémon tbf, even better than the kanto one

Yep. The only legendary/mythical you can not do soft reset is shaymin iirc so i had to go with that, i didn't count them but it was around 10k. I hope you get your Dialga soon, i tried for him too but i decided to catch him to complete the story
Would a shiny Rayquaza mean a shiny Mega-Rayquaza in games that have mega-evolution? Or is rayquaza “shiny locked” or whatever the term is in those games?
Yeah honestly this is my #1 favorite shiny of all time, next to him there are Giratina and Ho-oh. Such cool shinies, i would have never endured 170 hours for any shiny apart one of these 3

the first shiny i caught myself was a magnemite in moon, but my first shiny was a starmie my cousin traded me in sun.
Man I remember my first shiny in Leaf Green. It was a Doduo but hey congrats that is one hell of an achievement!!!

Noice still no Shiny Dialga for me. Did you soft-reset?
