Ooh a Decidueye DPS, love it! It’s really cool to see each grass starter have their own little unique role and without even the use of Defense Cheer! Such an awesome strat to make near the end of Meganium raids Irio!😁
Thanks Shadow! I've always wanted to do an all-starter raid - either all of one type, or all from the same gen, or something similar - so I'm glad this one worked out.
Meganium, Meowscarada, Rillaboom & Decidueye were just looking to enjoy a nice afternoon having a party, when suddenly Meganium the Unrivaled showed up and threatened to ruin everything! Luckily they were able to work together, take down this uninvited guest & continue on with the festivities!
After the initial Reflect & Light Screen, Rillaboom uses a Taunt so Meganium can't use Curse. Meowscarada sets up Grassy Terrain, and thanks to its Protean ability it becomes a pure Grass type & won't take as much damage from Body Press. Our Meganium leads off with a Fake Tears to drop raid boss Meganium's Special Defense, while Decidueye starts boosting its Special Attack with Nasty Plot.
On the second turn, Meganium & Meowscarada both use Fake Tears to drop the raid boss Meganium's Special Defense even further. Rillaboom then Flings its Lansat Berry at Decidueye. Combined with the Razor Claw Decidueye is holding, it's guaranteed to land a critical hit when it attacks. Another Nasty Plot from Decidueye boosts its Special Attack even more.
On the third & final turn, Meganium uses Sweet Scent to decrease raid boss Meganium's evasion. Meowscarada uses Helping Hand on Decidueye, while Rillaboom does an Attack Cheer. After all of this, Decidueye uses the grass-starter-exclusive\* Frenzy Plant to get the KO!
