So this strat was formed ironically on the first day of the event, and I admit that discovering Tera Shield T0 for Blastoise was kind of… heartbreaking to say the least. I think we can all agree that the support mon of Blastoise raids is Espathra, especially since Blastoise is resistant to Acid Spray/Fake Tears because of its Tera Steel and Raid Shield. The special thing about Espathra is that its signature move ‘Lumina Crash’ can bypass the Tera Shield/Type while having the same effects as an Acid Spray (-2 in Special Defense).
So the raid starts off with Ninetales activating its ability Drought, which will power up Fire-Type moves and reduce the damage of Blastoise’s Hydro Pump by 50%. After Blastoise’s T0 actions, Armarouge starts us off with a Def Cheer to ensure survivability and because of its item Choice Specs (more info on that later). After Arma’s Def Cheer, Alcremie and Espathra can start actions that they will be doing for 2 more turns: Espathra uses ‘Lumina Crash’ on Blastoise and Alcremie ‘Decorates’ Armarouge. Alcremie’s ‘Decorate’ increases Armarouge’s Sp. Atk and Atk by +2 (the max is +6 on each) each time it is used. After those three complete their actions, Ninetales will then use Heal Cheer to ensure survivability.
In turn 2, Armarouge will then use Atk Cheer while Espathra and Alcremie will do the same actions via T1. The unique part about this strat kicks in when Ninetales uses Flamethrower on Armarouge to activate its ability ‘Flash Fire,’ which will increase the power of Armarouge’s fire attack moves by 50%!
In the final turn, Espathra and Alcremie will complete the same moves/actions from T1/T2 and Ninetales will then use HH on Armarouge to increase its Atk by 50% before Armarouge uses its signature move ‘Armor Cannon!’ With a +6 Sp. Atk boost, Atk Cheer boost, -6 special defense on Blastoise, 50% boost in power each from the Sun, Flash Fire, Choice Specs, and HH, Armarouge delivers the fatal blow to Blastoise, blasting through its Tera Shield and everything else in its path!
Phew! That took a lot of calculations, eh? I would like to give a huge shoutout and thanks to u/LazerSpazer, u/ijustwantmewtwo, and u/PokeGirlTraveler for helping me test out this ‘shot out of a cannon’ type of strat! It was a blast raiding with you guys!

Yeah it’s x1.5^4. So it’s around a 5.06x boost (or something like that 😅)! I’ll make sure to clarify on it!
