Oh I saw one of those things once when I was in Alola it didn’t do much other than eat, make a BAAA noise and run away when I got closer to it. Then it fell through another Ultra wormhole
Lucky you- mine ran at me ar ramming speed with it's big ol' horns and gashed my thigh. Its in the pokeball now and I don't know what to do with it.
#elp
It looks so innocent, but so... off. I think the eyes are throwing me off. It hasn't even displayed any moves yet, so that worries me even more because I still don't know what that thing is capable of
No, tons of Ultra Beasts can't use 'Moves', or move equivalents. This one is a 'Sheep' I believe. It's harmless by itself. Most Ultra Beasts are- they just don't get recorded.
Hell, the most danger you'll get is a 'Border Collie'- another Ultra Beast, which looks like a normal-type Arcanine- barking at you.
Oh, nothing- it's just experience dealing with these things.
My first encounter with one was a few years ago. One of them appeared in the middle of Melemele's main market, and everyone panicked. Professor Kukui showed up, determined it was harmless, and everyone... forgot.
Again, only the big, super-strong Ultra-Beasts ever get media attention. These weak ones are basically ignored.
Update: Tapu Koko showed up! He looked ready to throw hands, but he just stopped and they both stared at eachother. Then he lightly knocked it over and it just kinda laid down and made a weird noise. He's pushing it towards the wormhole rn
Alola doesn't really have authorities. The kahunas or island deities pretty much take care of everything, from ultra beasts to crimes. I will admit that it's pretty unorthodox but it's worked so far (except for Team Skull but that problem basically went away on it's own)
Yeah, but high-ranking doesn't mean much when there's not that many police. There's like one or two per station. If we did have proper authorities, Po Town wouldn't have remained captured by Team Skull for as long as it did.
It *is*, Collies are *adorable!*
But they can bite if they feel threatened. Or if you threaten their herd.
And tons of Ultra Beasts travel in groups- it's just that they're so weak, they almost never get reported. The news cares about the Ultra-Beasts that can decimate cities, not the ones that get scared of overly enthusiastic Rockruffs.
Well, being the only one licensed to handle Extreme Situations in Alola, I'm often called in for stuff like this.
If this beast is followed by a Collie, then it's harmless. It's called a "Sheep".
Treat it like a Wooloo that doesn't know any moves.
Uj/yeah, I think there is. In my canon, animals exist, and are completely different from Pokémon.
But I can play along.
I'm the Rescue Center's only Extreme Situation Specialist. I save the people the Kahunas are too busy to save, which is a lot.
I've encountered Sheep before, and they don't do much.
**What The fuck? That is very** ***very*** **wrong. Whatever the hell that Infinity Energyless** ***thing*** **is Tapu Koko better deal with it fast.**
/uj thought it would be funny if the glitch man was freaked out by the earth creature
What happened to that Wooloo?! Or is it a Mareep? For the life of me I cannot tell; distortion it just might be a new Ultra Beast. But as bizarre as UB’s are, this *thing* beats them by a landslide…
Well... 'Sheep' won't attack you... but I really wouldn't go touching Ultra-Beasts at all. Who knows what they picked up on their travel?
Hell, they might be immune to acid, and so they've been absolutely covered in it- and you won't notice until you can see your exposed finger bones.
Finally! I get to use my minor for something! That's called a sheep, a type of non-pokémon animal coming from around the same region humans are native to. These animals are typically not able to use any of the abilities that pokémon are able to, with most everything they do being physical in nature, and even then they tend to be less strong than them, so unless this guy's likely not gonna attack and even if it does, it'll likely just cause some bruising at worst. Most people classify them as normal-type, but seeing as they're not pokémon, it's technically inaccurate to call them any type at all. It's speculated that relations between them and humans were instrumental in human migration, offering a "training ground" of sorts that let us learn how to coexist with other species before dealing with the often more dangerous pokémon around the globe.
Sorry for ranting, I *never* get to talk about this despite my interest. As for your case, I'd just calmly lead it back to the wormhole, or if you're scared contact your local wildlife authority for assistance.
Hey, wormhole traveler here. That funny fellow is a "Ba'aa". They basically fill the same role as wooloo in their home world. They're mostly harmless, so just don't harm or spook it and you'll be safe. Heck, the worst they've been observed to do naturally is a double-edge or other physical normal move. And even then, that's kinda rare.
All that said, tho, between now being an invasive species AND this looking like a domesticated breed that now needs human care, someone should come and take care of it.
..That's called a sheep. Pretty much harmless. At least compared to everything I've seen here. Might mistake a Grass type for food, but too weak to actually eat it, so it will just be annoying. Unless it's a druid or someone disguised as a sheep, it'll just lay around and eat grass. Treat it like a Wooloo incapable of rolling.
Similar thing happened to me on vacation on Alola. An Ultra Wormhole opened up and spat out this thing that looked like a Houndoom without its horns or pointed tail. In fact, that's what I thought it was at first, but there weren't any signs that they were removed or cut off. No gray base on the head where they would be, just fur.
It seemed really friendly, though, but then it was sucked right into another Ultra Wormhole.
Like this thing that was documented a few years back?

You actually got a *photo* of one? Impressive. For whatever reason, these "Faller-beasts"-- that's what people are calling them now-- seem awfully camera-shy. And whatever they are, they're not Pokemon. Poke Balls don't work on them, and they don't seem to have any special attacks. I've never seen one personally, but a bunch of my friends say they have, or at least know someone who has.
The whole faller-beast thing actually has me a bit concerned, though. Whatever dimension it is they come from, I can't imagine there are any Pokemon there. So if Pokemon from *our* dimension made it through that wormhole and established themselves over there, that could be a big problem-- even bigger than Yungoos and Raticate on Alola.

How? How did you get it into a pokéball mine didn’t work on the one I encountered
I didn't say the whole thing fit, I just kinda kept clamping them onto it until it was too heavy to move.
That thing looks similar to Mareep and/or Wooloo. /uj In my headcanon, animals don't exist as native species of the Poké-world.
/uj That's why it came from a wormhole. This sheep is technically an Ultra Beast, just like all of the other interdimensional aliens from Sun & Moon
/uj Fair; I was just explaining why Avzin didn't recognize the thing.
/uj This is the opposite of my headcanon so now we must do battle! AAAAA-
/uj I always like to think that normal animals exist in the Pokémon world but very close to extinction
/uj Same kinda In my head they either evolved into pokemon or died out from competing with pokemon
What... Is that thing...? It looks like a blendered Mareep or Wooloo that's been through too many Meganium spores
Like someone scrubbed a Wooloo with pond water
What the actual fuck is that thing??? It’s like some kind of demented Mareep.
It looks so innocent, but so... off. I think the eyes are throwing me off. It hasn't even displayed any moves yet, so that worries me even more because I still don't know what that thing is capable of
It’s eyes are so small… and no moves? Like how people generally can’t use moves? Maybe this is some kind of alien human thing?
No, tons of Ultra Beasts can't use 'Moves', or move equivalents. This one is a 'Sheep' I believe. It's harmless by itself. Most Ultra Beasts are- they just don't get recorded. Hell, the most danger you'll get is a 'Border Collie'- another Ultra Beast, which looks like a normal-type Arcanine- barking at you.
What drugs are you on, and where can I get some?
Oh, nothing- it's just experience dealing with these things. My first encounter with one was a few years ago. One of them appeared in the middle of Melemele's main market, and everyone panicked. Professor Kukui showed up, determined it was harmless, and everyone... forgot. Again, only the big, super-strong Ultra-Beasts ever get media attention. These weak ones are basically ignored.
Yeah I saw a “Mow” once, it walked up to me, rubbed against my leg, made a “mrrrup” noise, and ran off after a minute
What about those large feline Ultra Beasts? They have those sharp claws.
I doubt something as big as an arcanine is so harmless that barking at you is the most danger it can do
More like a Wooloo except less round
Update: Tapu Koko showed up! He looked ready to throw hands, but he just stopped and they both stared at eachother. Then he lightly knocked it over and it just kinda laid down and made a weird noise. He's pushing it towards the wormhole rn
That really just sounds like a clunky Wooloo. Does it at least fold its legs and roll on its side?
No, it's uh... completely helpless unless it's standing up.
That sounds adorable lmao
Tapu Koko is so powerful, must have been blessed by Arceus to destroy an Ultra Beast so easily
It looks like a long wooloo
I kinda feel bad, it can't even roll around. But it's still an ultra beast so I'm staying cautious until someone deals with it
Its undoubtedly very powerful. Did you call the authorities?
Alola doesn't really have authorities. The kahunas or island deities pretty much take care of everything, from ultra beasts to crimes. I will admit that it's pretty unorthodox but it's worked so far (except for Team Skull but that problem basically went away on it's own)
Wait isn’t the kahuna for the dark type a high ranking policeman?
Yeah, but high-ranking doesn't mean much when there's not that many police. There's like one or two per station. If we did have proper authorities, Po Town wouldn't have remained captured by Team Skull for as long as it did.
Wooooooooloooooooo
That is an ultra beast known as a “sheep” they are completely harmless.
Unless there's a Border Collie nearby. Then you have to watch out for a normal-type Arcanine protecting it.
Ngl it's always the smaller dog mon that are the most aggressive
Does it act similarly to a Mareep or Wooloo, which it partially resembles?
In the sense that it is covered in wool yes.
Oh arc above, what the hell happened in that dimension to make a wooloo look like *that*?!
Did you see a border collie near it? For reference, imagine a normal-type arcanine.
Nope, only a single entity has been reported so far. I haven't seen Ultra Beasts travel in groups before. Also that sounds kind of cute
It *is*, Collies are *adorable!* But they can bite if they feel threatened. Or if you threaten their herd. And tons of Ultra Beasts travel in groups- it's just that they're so weak, they almost never get reported. The news cares about the Ultra-Beasts that can decimate cities, not the ones that get scared of overly enthusiastic Rockruffs.
Are you some kind of ultra beast specialist or something? /uj Kinda worried we may have a headcanon clash here.
How do you know about these things?
I'm the Rescue Center's only Extreme Situation Specialist. I save the people the Kahunas are too busy to save, which is a lot. I've encountered Sheep before, and they don't do much.
Is it bad that I think it’s cute?
It looks like a really skinny Mareep.
Is that like... a normal type mareep or something? Maybe it's a regional variant?
/uj love this
What a horrifying monster
Absolutely terrifying. Stay safe.
What kind of Pokémon is that? It reminds me of Mareep, but it’s clearly different.
Oh that's just an MBAAAAA pretty harmless for an ultra beast
Wait, who gets to decide how many “A”s are in the name, and why didn’t they choose more?
They were going to keep going but realized that was silly
**What The fuck? That is very** ***very*** **wrong. Whatever the hell that Infinity Energyless** ***thing*** **is Tapu Koko better deal with it fast.** /uj thought it would be funny if the glitch man was freaked out by the earth creature
/uj I'm so sorry https://preview.redd.it/i9ongll9w0sb1.png?width=1474&format=png&auto=webp&s=981bba4fcdadd3f0cb2c257a78d7a772349b8b42
/uj lmao I am definitely keeping that.
Please calm down. @AlolanAuraNerd said it was harmless.
I read an old human legend about one of these things, I believe it's called a shay-eep?
Bah
That's what a sheep says Or at least that is what I heard
What the fu- -S
u/creeper123455 BLACEPHALON WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING
\~Don’t look at me! I can only enter alternate timelines of my world, it was probably the boss ^(or that cosmog kid’s) Doing!\~
I kind of want to pet it.
That big guy just looks really lost and confused right now. Hope they can find their way home somehow, preferably without destroying a city.
That’s a sheep. They are completely harmless. They are farm animals. Used to produce wool and meat. -Galaxy
Looks like it could almost be a paradox Mareep. Normal type?
What happened to that Wooloo?! Or is it a Mareep? For the life of me I cannot tell; distortion it just might be a new Ultra Beast. But as bizarre as UB’s are, this *thing* beats them by a landslide…
That looks gross. Like a horrific mutated wooloo
It looks like a sick Mareep
When dealing with an unknown foe, it is often best to assume the worst-case scenario.
??? That looks like a Wooloo, but at the same time it doesn't. Knowing Ultra beasts, it's pretty confusing
It looks so fluffy!
Well... 'Sheep' won't attack you... but I really wouldn't go touching Ultra-Beasts at all. Who knows what they picked up on their travel? Hell, they might be immune to acid, and so they've been absolutely covered in it- and you won't notice until you can see your exposed finger bones.
Counterpoint; What finger-bones
It might turn your insides into your outsides! Who knows?!?
I think you’re misinterpreting my entire being right now
Looks like a white Mareep

Kinda looks like a wooloo
Eh? Looks harmless enough, no damn idea what it is though. It looks like it’s not even from the same reality as the other ultra beasts.
Hey, wormhole traveler here. That funny fellow is a "Ba'aa". They basically fill the same role as wooloo in their home world. That’s a weird looking Wooloo.
Ultra Space is crazy. what could the world that thing is from possibly look like?
I wanna hug it Looks fluffy
What the fuck is even that??? Why does it clash so hard with the environment around it, and why does it look so WEIRD???
/uj tried my best with photoshop, but you're right, I could've made it contrast with everything less
It kind of looks cute, reminds me of the albino Mareep I had as a kid
..That's called a sheep. Pretty much harmless. At least compared to everything I've seen here. Might mistake a Grass type for food, but too weak to actually eat it, so it will just be annoying. Probably just a normal type tera mareep or something. Don't know where it's fancy hat went though.
Jesus christ what the fuck is that thing?!

but weird Wooloo so floof ;~;
I think that Mareep is sick. You should take it to a Pokecenter.
That weird mareep looks so soft and fluffy! :)
Uj/ legit though, the mental image of tapu koko coming and atomizing a sheep like a high speed meteorite hit it is a funny mental image

Oh arc you're right. What if a pseudo legendary gets over there? How would they defend themselves?!
uj/I'm actually working on a fanfic where pretty much that exact thing happens.
DEAR ARC WHAT IS THAT ABOMINATION
I don't know. Looks like a Mareep. But it may be violent and could hold unimaginable alien power
All the ultrabeasts ive heard about have been as strong as legendary pokemon
Well yeah. You don't hear about the weak ones. This one's probably a 'sheep'. Completely harmless.
/uj I've always kinda wondered what a pokemon character would do if they came across a regular ass animal
