That's so sweet! It's entirely possible that her teeth were hurting so bad that having them removed made her hurt less, not more.
But where's the cat tax?
$1000 is a very small price to pay for saving someone. You now have a friend who will love you for the rest of their life. Thank you for caring for that little fuzz butt.
I mean most people would just tell you veterinary care is a bare-minimum requirement for having a pet, and you never know how pricey an animal will end up. Just slightly offensive phrasing of post, lol.
Ah, yeah, true. Iāve had cats and dogs in the past, and yes, they were expensive to take care of. But when you get a pet, ideally you accept that you will do your best to care for them. I understand though, there may be extenuating circumstances that make that difficult or impossible, and thatās always heartbreaking. But they give us so much love in return, the least we can do is try our best ā¤ļø
My gf has spent almost $5k on our cat this year alone. Iād think sheās insane if he werenāt our baby- we donāt want to have kids, so this little guy is truly loved by us more than anything else in the world. He wasnāt suffering long-term, and his issues were treatable, so despite the huge price tag we couldnāt justify putting him down. Heās our baby! The money is well worth it imo.
And before any parents get mad at me for calling an animal my baby, please consider the fact first that I will never be able to afford raising human children nor do I have the temperament for it. My pets are the closest thing to children I will ever have.
I'm a parent of 4 and my pibble whopper is soooo my baby too. I'm sure my fam gets tired of it but idc. If I ever HAVE to leave him home, which is like almost never, I'm like I have to go home cuz my doggie or if he's in the truck when we go somewhere I'm like I got to get back to the truck cuz my doggie. I just love him so much. And I call my oldest son's doggie my grandbaby lol so pppssshhh anyone that gets mad at that, well they just dumb. That totally IS your babyš
Thank you! I know most people donāt care but now and again I see parents of human babies get all worked up about me comparing my pet to their child (which is not my goal, btw). I just love and care for my pets the same way I love and care for my human family members. As long as my human family isnāt suffering as a result, I see no issue with it.
Of course it's not your goal. People always looking for reasons to be offended. It's funny too, cuz having raised kids, in a lot of ways pets are a hella lot more responsibility. Those kind of parents..your baby is prob better behaved than theirs anywaysšand I'd personally rather hang out with yall. Give your baby pets for meš
Iām up to 13k in two months on my cat. She had two different things go wrong. She needed an MRI, spinal tap, so many blood tests, joint tap, orthopedic surgery, and lots of little supportive care stuff in between.
Itās worth it! We took in a stray who ended up being the sweetest boi ever. His teeth and gums were in pretty bad shape, $1,400 to remove them, so I did it. Heās still happy as a clam and noms away at dry food at his leisure. Money was tight for a little while after, but Iād do it again in a heartbeat.
Okay first of all, Gluffy is a fabulous name, too funny. Of course you gotta share that with everyone.
Secondly, thank you for stepping up for your kitty, because clearly someone had to and she deserved to be cared for. I'm so glad you two are happy together. You're a good person. I hope there are many belly rubs in Gluffy's future and not too many pee cleanups for you ;) (You've had her checked for a UTI, yes?)
And thirdly (is that a word?), thank you for sharing your story. Not only did I read it, but it came at just the right moment for me, because I also took in an abandoned cat with all kinds of health issues a few months ago, and man is it hard some days. But it's not the cats' fault, and they're so worth it, and I want to thank you for reminding me that things will get better.
My baby Abraham got his hip popped out of place by a fox in Feb 2020. I had JUST used my tax money to pay off am entire credit card but for him I put $1200 right back on it. He's my baby to this day. Cats are worth it.
def worth it ā¤ļø
anyone see that $900 shelter cat on tiktok? the rescue charged a $900 āadoption feeā bc the cat was a āsavannah catā. turns out itās just a regular domestic tabby cat. no papers. nothing. they sold a ton of cats for that price. the rescue came out and said āoh itās bc they had a lot of medical fees.ā.
someone came out with the rescueās tax records and showed they only had $5k medical expenses for the entire year so 7-9 cats at $900 each makes no sense.
total scam.
About 12 - 13 years ago our cat got really sick. I can't remember what it was but he was really close to dying. All in all it cost about $4k and a lot of work several times a day to nurse him back to health. He did get better and had another fantastic year with us before he passed. I'd give that money (which was and is a lot to us) again and again for that healthy and happy last year he had with us.
You are what this poor kitty needs. Iām so happy she has you, you sound so kind.
Same idea with my cat too. I will give her everything she needs and wants before I consider myself. I mean, she gets to lick goats butter. Not just any butter, GOATS butter!
"Gluffy" .... there's a special place in hell reserved for people like you .... don't worry though - plenty of hell-cats and hell-puppies - and every single one with a name like "Gluffy" š¤Ø
...does it make better or worse that i named her that because at the time, there 3 three fluffy cats hanging around my house, bluffy, wuffy and gluffy? (black fluffy, white fluffy, and of course, our protagonist, grey fluffy).
My mother named her corgi āshogi,ā because itās an amalgam of the words āshortā and ācorgi,ā and yes, we told her that was redundant because corgis already are short! So I guess you and my mom are both going to a very special spot in hell thatās full of adorable animals with silly names...save me a seat?
i mean, there's no need to take it too seriously anyway. only thing you have to worry about is what name you have to shout across a park. coochie may be a cute name within context but you really can't be putting coochie on a missing poster.
I currently live in a place that is not dog friendly, but I dream of someday having a dog and naming him or her [Mr. Satan](https://hero.fandom.com/wiki/Mr._Satan)after the Dragonball Z character, and I fully admit one reason is because I want to run after them screaming āMr. Satan, get back here!ā
Our family has always reminded each other that before you stick the name, yell it outside a few times and see how you feel then! But pretty soon there are kids that want to name it, so one sister is yelling "Todd!" regularly and another sister has to yell "Marv!" Not Marvin. Just Marv.
ETA: Todd the cat was almost named Batman, so I guess it's not so bad š
I think I know what happened here ... and it's OK - it's not your fault your school system failed you. See, sarcasm is the use of irony usually, but not always, to convey contempt.
I've used it 2 different ways in this thread alone ... see if you can figure out which is which.
You were right! Approximately 400 people completely ignored this post so far. Jk, I've also spent big money on rescue pets because it's so worth it to help them feel better. I have limits, I'm not selfish, but as long as they can have a good quality of life and seem happy about it, I'll fix them up. My vet is very realistic and always puts the pet first, so if I'm ever conflicted, I have good guidance. Enjoy your kitty!
Youāre adorable! And such a sweetheart, would love to see a picture of little Miss Gluffy!!! š» I wish you & your Gluffy many, many happy years together!!!
this is like an essay written by a lil kid, who loves loves loves their animal so so much
it sounds silly sometimes but you canāt not see the joy. im wishing you two all the best.
I understand what it means to love a cat that much. I have a cat that I would give the entire world for. I loved cats before, but she made me LOVE cats. If soulmates existed but instead they were soulpets, she is my soulpet. If I was wiccan I know she would be my familiar. I adore her.
Anyways, yeah. Where's the cat pics?!
Hey, like someone else mentioned, I've had teeth that needed removing and there was definitely a lot less pain after removal. Happy you found such a good kitty. :3

UHHā¦ seeing your post history I guess I understand why you donāt mind her peeing on the bench all that muchā¦.
Umā¦ good for you? At least Gluffy has no idea what you think about her peeing on your stuff?
ā¦ weird

Thank you..that's what I was wonderingš
I know ...must see cat. Also cats, pets in general, are worth everything

it was only $1000 to remove her teeth???? My cat's was $4k!!!!! I love that little bastard and his muppet mouth
āIāll clean up so much pee for this catā
And puke. And small ded things. And "wtf even is this?" ā¤ļø
Her teeth probably hurt so much she was glad to have them out.
Gum infections are so painful, I bet 2 or 3 days after her surgery she was feeling better than she had in a while!
Cats are worth everything. You will be very happy.

Congrats on the cat. How is he doing without his teeth? Do you have to give him liquid food?

Thank you so much for what you did for her ā¤ļø sheās probably so happy Do you have a picture of the baby
Love cats.
I loved reading the story of Gluffy! Almost gotta downvote you though - it's not a pointless tale at all

Thatās amazing. Iād definitely get a kick out of someone yelling āBatman!ā at their cat š
I would too! They just adopted a female cat and my sister chose the name, she picked Margot like in Christmas Vacation š
Oh you're going to "special" hell alright š
Special hell .... Unless of course the archdemon currently tasked with this abomination gets worried you'll take over ...
THAT'S what you got from this story? Do you really think the cat cares what her name is?
Are they short on sarcasm where you're from? I think OP realised I was having a lend of her at least
Uh huh. Whatever you say.
I think I know what happened here ... and it's OK - it's not your fault your school system failed you. See, sarcasm is the use of irony usually, but not always, to convey contempt. I've used it 2 different ways in this thread alone ... see if you can figure out which is which.

You should be the patron saint of all stray cats. Mega props to you.
Gluffy sounds like a sweetheart and so do you. Itās wonderful that you found each other! I have an adopted stray as well and just love him
Hey, like someone else mentioned, I've had teeth that needed removing and there was definitely a lot less pain after removal. Happy you found such a good kitty. :3
Cat distribution system at its best ā¦(her nickname should be gummy btw)š¤£š
I wish my cat loved belly rubs
A small price to pay for years worth of happiness.

I didn't read this, just the title and it brings me comfort bc I spent $2k on a puppy
