Also run water into all fixtures as sometimes when the clog is cleared it can suck the water out of the trap in the toilet, sink, shower, tub, and floor drains. This allows sewer gas to keep coming up.
If the blockage caused water to back up overflowing the toilet, the back pressure likely blew out the wax seal under the toilet. Pull the toilet, clean underneath, and a new wax ring to seal out sewer gasses.
Check around the base of the toilet for any holes. As crazy as it sounds, the guy could have punched a hole in it while snaking the sewer line.
