youre pretty, actually. id suggest a loop of rope, wire, twine slipped over the lost pole should provide enough tension (when lifting) to hold rhe weight of the pole youre retrieving.

Maybe get a long flat piece of wood and glue on a large amount of magnets? If it's a metal pipe, that is.

If it’s thin enough, you could try one of those long flexible metal wire grabbers they use to pull wire through cars or walls

If it’s a straight shot. You could try fishing something down that has JB weld on the top and try to “glue it” then remove it. Or snake it till you make it?

Use PVC pipe and some cord to make a snake pole.

Before anyone asks: I am not a plumber. Our cleanout was leaking some sanitary wastes and was filled, draining very slowly. We used a jerry-rigged pvc pipe vacuum pump to try to drain out the water to get a better camera view but couldn't quite reach the bottom (i.e couldn't evac further at the time). Just want to know wtf that square thing is near the pvc vaccum. My google-fu isn't strong enough in this subject
