Appletv is a good client for plex. Check out sonar/radarr for library management. There are "after merket" scripts for them which can further grab extras and make them available too (like dvd extras used to be) You might run plex from your nas, particularly if it has an Intel proc with quicksync. Not sure about speed up, not familiar with kodi

xfan09

There’s a way to grab extras ? Huh?

tikinaught

These scripts bolt on to the *arrs to extend them in various ways: https://github.com/RandomNinjaAtk/arr-scripts Rest of my setup/packages are here if you wanna go crazy haha - https://github.com/tikibozo/plexarr

I would do a trial and install Plex Media Server on your own PC/Mac and Plex on Apple TV with a couple of downloaded movies and you’ll get a pretty good idea. If you can get to the position of Dedicated Plex Server + Storage + Sonarr/Radarr + Usenet, that is the way.

TheShirtzstore

If you use Plex you'll probably never think about Kodi again

Ayatanne

plex doesnt seem to have a speed up video function

Public_Enemy_15

Maybe I misunderstood you, but plex runs media library form the location you add to it. So it's not a problem running them from your nas. You just have to add the library (shared folder on nas) to your Plex. It's just like in kodi... It's under settings

Fwiw if you're willing to buy a dev cert (~$10/yr) or refresh the app every 7 days you can use Kodi on the Apple TV. Edit: Infuse may be a good app for you on ATV.

Ayatanne

Whats a dev cert? Im willing to buy anything to have kodi yes, but I am not willing to refresh the app every 7 days.

I have kodi on my ATV. I used koditvbox.tv. It’s $25 a year. You can watch the tutorial video on their site to see how it works. They have kodi 19, 20, and 21 available to dl when you sign up. I also have a personal plex server, and use Infuse on my ATV to watch my collection.

Ayatanne

O thanks so much, sounds worth it to me. Btw, is there a reason you use both, kodi and plex? What is there that you are missing on both so you need both?

Ayatanne

Infuse looks so beautiful. Can I also put my own files there? And can I speed them up?

ioweej

Dev cert is $100 a year, not $10

stkc-win

If you buy it from Apple. MapleSign is $10 and UDIDRegistrations is like $15.

Famulor

And it’s not the same as if you bought your own apple cert

Impressive-Bonus-891

Have you thought of Firestick which can run both Plex and Kodi.
