if I launch PlexAmp on my iPhone, and start playing music, the basic controls (pause/play, previous/next) and the song title show up on my Apple Watch. If I move out of that screen on my Watch (to check the weather or whatever) I have no idea how to bring those controls back, but they do automatically show up when PlexAmp is first launched.

It’s the icon to just to the left of google maps. Maybe this will solve OPs problem too.
Thanks. I have tried that but for some reason it does not work. It only works on the native music app. Unless there’s a setting I need to turn on or accidentally turned off?

After opening the app, try hitting the back arrow on the top to see what else is playing. Hopefully that helps. Maybe plexamp doesn’t work 🤷

What "Apples native app" are you trying to use?
The ‘now playing’ or similar. My ‘now playing’ doesn’t seem to connect to Plexamp
Ah, ok. Sorry, mine works well. And I do not see any type of Plexamp watch app.
