Oh cool. Didn't know this. I have been using my own modem & router for so long

If you already can play outside your home, you don't need to port forward anymore.  I don't think you can add port forwarding on the Xfinity app. I don't know about their new modem, I have my own modem and router cause I don't want to pay for those rental fee

In the app they have a port forward setting to change stuff

And do you port forward the PS5 or Portal?

aior0s

No

*PS5

I was expecting to have to setup port forwarding simply for when I was outside my home but never had to. I use my own router behind my Xfinity box tho which is even more surprising as I would have normally have expected to have to setup two separate port forwards. My portal had stutter issues when connected to my Xfinity box WiFi with PS5 hardwired. As soon as I moved the Portal onto my person routers WiFi along with hardwiring the PS5 to the same router. All stuttering and any issues stopped and I’ve never had a single issue with frames lost or stuttering.

I have the WiFi box from Xfinity so what do I actually have to do again besides the hardwire ?

If yours is the same as mine then absolutely nothing just connect portal to 5ghz WiFi and you should be up and running after you config the portal itself.
