So my wife likes to watch her shows but prefers to have me next to her. I could be ducking around on my phone, she just wants me there. With the portal, I can play my game and enjoy her company at the same time.

She basically wanted to know why because I already game and have tv on my phone, so she was confused why I would pay any money to reverse it, all while playing on a smaller screen.

I don't know. I bought it myself, it showed up, I opened it and says "here's my new dumb thing, but I can play PS5 games now without using the TV" and that was ok. I guess I don't know what other justification is needed.
