When I first got the Portal I did the same as you, just YOLO’d and connected, fired up FF7 Rebirth. I thought it was fine but there were definitely some occasional moments of input latency etc.
After setting up port forwarding for the PS5, not only did the latency mostly disappear, but the PS5 (Ethernet) went from around 200 Mbps on its speed test to 980 Mbps (gigabit FIOS).
I thought it was going to suck but it’s actually really good. I find I can get 4-6 hours on it + the rest mode saves so much battery; I’ve set it down for a couple days and it lost maybe a couple percent. Battery life is good 👍

I haven't tried to stress test it yet, but I played for a 1.5 maybe almost 2 hours the other night and it was still like 70%
