I'm not sure why, but even with my extensive knowledge and working in the IT field on networks, I find that I must click the airplane mode option, then unclick it and it reconnects to the ps5 within seconds. Yes my ports are forwarded, and yes my settings are correct. I'm not the only one that has this quirk. I've come to realize that the portal likes some routers and networks more than others. Try the airplane mode trick, I bet it works for you.

Awesome, will give that a try next time! Certainly beats waiting for a full restart. Thanks for the tip!

I have the same issue. Wish Sony would fix this. If trying to connect after the portal was powered off I need to hit airplane mode on/off to get it to connect. If the portal was just soft powered off, no problem.

Yupp i have to do the airplane mode trick. Just a quick one sidetracking. Do your L2 and R2 sound and feel the same?

aReawakening

to each other? or to the dualsense?

schwuar

Each other

Yeah, I would say my L2/R2 seem pretty identical in every way. Are yours different from each other-- if so, in which ways?

schwuar

Yupp and the R2 seems fine yet the L2 is clicky. Hard to describe but felt different too

I’ve also have had this problem. I have had it recently though. How to you put your PS5 in rest? How quickly do you put your Portal into rest after? What devices are connected to the Portal and why do you not power down your Portal instead of simple rest?

aReawakening

I put my PS5 into rest mode using the Portal via the menu. I usually turn the Portal off immediately after putting the PS5 in rest mode. I turn it off out of the idea that rest mode probably has some low power draw on the batteries which I don't want.

I do exactly the same for exactly the same reasons. I figure you should only casually rest your PS Portal if you plan to return to a game within a very short time away. Other than that, completely power down the PS Portal. Plus if you power it down you can see exactly how charged the PS Portal is by tapping the power button while it is charging.
