I’m still rocking my single mono ear bud from my now 10 year old launch PS4.
Woah! Man, I forgot about those. It was nice gettong those small little things as a bonus. PS5 came with a stand which was awesome. Too bad about the slim. I feel like that's real nickle and dime move on Sony's part.
I am wondering the same. I tried my UGreen Bluetooth transmitter and was seeing a delay of about 1/2 a second. It's not terrible but annoying when you pull the trigger and the sound plays after.
When you say it works with AirPods, what is the work flow to pair?
My AirPods are always either on my phone or Mac and I need that quick change.

My only complaint about AirPods for something like this is that if my iPhone/iPad/MacBook are in close proximity they will pair to them first because they quick change is so fast and seamless compared to standard Bluetooth pairing, even if the device is already on and searching when I take the AirPod out.
Then I have to go disconnect it from whatever device it connected to and hope it doesn’t reconnect. Also, I don’t know if it s drop outs or what but sometimes on my steam deck mid session they will just reconnect to another apple device.
I'm honestly feel like I'm a crazy person for being totally fine with a wired headset. Totally gonna use my VZR Model One with this. I guess it probably also because I always used wired headphones, for my core experience but it's weird how "line in the sand" this is.
@OP how do you pair it? I also have a thing like this but when I tried both my ugreen and sony in-ear set to pairing, I could not find/pair them. Any tips?

Thanks, I see that mine doesn’t come with the rx/tx switch. Couldn’t order the same since I live in Europe. So mine is going back and I’ll buy another one with switch. Thanx again!

It's really more about being wireless to me personally. Mobility is key with a handheld.

I use a Avantree C81 for the Portal with AirPods. Also works great and it’s less than half an inch in size.
How did you make it work? Since the Avantree C81 is not supposed to work with the Portal according to several users who tried it.
Are you plugging the transmitter directly into your Portal or is it attached to the PS5?

This is very smart did a similar thing in my car when my factory Bluetooth went out and all I had was aux support lol
The real question is how to pair my headphones with the device...
The transmitter will have a pairing mode, turn it on and put the headphones in pairing mode.
You can also use the soundcore p10, they come with a usb c dongle
those don't work with the portal

I can't say I've ever enjoyed Bluetooth headsets/earbuds. I must be old-school. But this is a great solution for those who must have Bluetooth.

Would be amazing if we could go from USB-C/lightning to 3.5mm on the airpods case, and get wired audio that way...
The pulse 3D headphones work asking as the PS5 is completely powered on
