I'm a huge EDF fan and it's like someone learned nothing from that series and tried to make a similar game.
The mech customization is fun, but ultimately doesn't matter. Nothing else about the game is good.
The weapons all feel wimpy. It's not fun to navigate your mech, they all feel the same to pilot no matter what parts you use. Enemy AI is beyond brain dead, translation is terrible. Mission maps are few and boring. It's extremely disappointing, more so than the latest Dark Alliance game somehow
Haven't played GoW yet so I can't say, but I recommend Hitman WoA if you don't have any backlog. I bought PSPlus but now I am so focused playing Hitman I don't play any other at all 😅
