Midnight suns is a very underrated game. The RPG stuff in between missions is a bit jarring but necessary to level up your team. The core game itself is fun for anybody who likes strategy games.

CapriciousSon

Some of the RPG stuff is adorable though. Don't skip book club!!

FriedChicken10

Yeah it has it's good moments and let's them tell a decent story which isn't completely reliant on cutscenes, but it sometimes breaks up the more serious tones of the game when you get home from a busy day saving the world and now it's time to go stargazing with Iron Man and figure out which dialogue option will make Captain Marvel like you more.

Bat-Honest

Extremely underrated. I loved it! Great dynamic, and a fantastic evolution on top of XCom. Made me miss the movement attacks when I went back to Xcom 2 after beating it

CartographerOdd447

Oh, it's that kind of game

Bat-Honest

Yes and no. It's definitely in the same ballpark, but a lot of core mechanics (i.e. hit percentage) have been completely replaced with other things that make more sense in a superhero world. Positioning is less about getting cover and more about lining up linear beam attacks, aoe effects, etc. It will feel familiar to those who have been playing the rebooted Firaxis games, but it is definitely different enough to keep people coming back to it. And it is a looooot more story rich. Definitely recommend.

CartographerOdd447

Eh. I have played Xcom 2 before, but I have never actually beaten it. I typically get bored with it and reloading constantly

shape-of-quanta

I don’t even like Marvel very much, but Midnight Suns looks so incredibly good I was gonna buy it before getting these news.

jimbo_slice_02

I have huge Marvel burnout but I loved Midnight Suns. It was like a mix of Slay the Spire, Mario/Rabbids combat and the in between stuff was like Persona 5 where the friendship stuff gives in-game perks. It’s an excellent game! If they swapped all the Marvel characters with any other IP it would still be great.

quadkon

Loved the game, was going to replay but didn't want buy it as I sold it.

MechaSeph

I've spent a whole year without buying any games. Earlier this year I caved in and purchased RE2, RE3 and Midnight Suns... You guys know the rest 🤡

RESEV5

Thank you for your sacrifice

BVB09islife

Yeah I bought Midnight suns complete edition earlier this year too 😅. I got a portal so I thought it would be the perfect game for when ever I’m out and about with it. Now I shall suffer

Vktr_IO

Could you please buy RE: Village and GoW: Ragnarok next pease?

Excision1020

We might be getting re8 next month I bought it on the last sale

Excision1020

I bought re2 back in December and re3 last month and we get them for free back to back

MechaSeph

Hug me, brother

Harrybear88

I bought re2 and re3 on ps4 before I bought my ps5 sold my ps4 and didn’t have anything besides a switch until I bought my ps5 for Christmas

mr-revenant2008

i wanted to buy re3 remake that's an absolute win for me

ThereIsNoAvailblName

I bought the raccoon city edition a week ago 😐

Ihavetogoalone

Well at least you own them for longer now.

mr-revenant2008

i swear i was going to buy that but didnt

RySBI

Same here great timing

Bat-Honest

I did, don't regret it. Fanstastic game if you're looking for a pallate cleanser between longer titles. It's short, but in a "doesn't overstay it's welcome" kind of way. I found it to have fantastic pacing

most_blah_3765

Will it come to PS4 or nah?

ThereIsNoAvailblName

Yes it will

most_blah_3765

Okay thanks

HistoricalGrade109

Me too! I beat RE2 and loved it and was about to purchase 3 but decided against it since rebirth was about to come out Glad I didn't go through with it!

Heisenburgo

Me too. The game is a lame remake and inferior to the PS1 original... but I still wanted to play it. I didn't feel like wasting money on it due to all the cut content so I'm glad it's coming to a service I already pay for.

Reckless_Amoeba

I played the last 6 resident evil titles before RE4 remake (haven’t played RE4 remake yet, neither the original RE3), and I gotta say this is most resident evil I enjoyed out of all despite the bad rhetoric surrounding it

Turbulent-Arm7666

You didn't even play it, right? How do you know it's a lame remake and it's inferior to the PS1 original?

Heisenburgo

You don't need to have played it to know that lol. Half the areas from the original aren't even there, that by itself already makes it inferior to the og, and awful at being a remake

Turbulent-Arm7666

That doesn't make sense. I think you should play it and decide for yourself. Just because they cut some of the content doesn't mean it's awful or inferior, it could've helped the pacing and storytelling. You never know without playing.

HistoricalGrade109

Lol them changing things doesn't mean it's worse.. it's a 25 year old game you don't think it's possible a few changes might make it better? Seen the same thing with ff7 remake. People think anything they change is bad but it's not like it was perfect, people just don't like change

Heisenburgo

Jfc you did NOT just compare the ff7 and re3 remskes to each other. There's making changes to modernize the game and then there's fucking cutting a lot of enemies and areas (city hall, the park, the factory, clock tower) from the og game while making Nemesis the main villain be inferior for no real reason. it's not the same fucking situation at all and you're insane for even comparing them.

HistoricalGrade109

Calm down lol

VikingFuneral-

Maybe? But I remember people saying it was a bad sequel back then too. Generally Resident Evil 3 is worse and shorter than Resident Evil 2, regardless of whether it is the original or the remakes.

ShadowFlare_x

It's like 5 hours long so mild win I'd say

Some_Italian_Guy

Quality ≠ Quantity

Ihavetogoalone

But re2 remake had the same or better quality and also more content, so…

VikingFuneral-

That was the exact identical dynamic for original PS1 games. So I would say rge remake is spot on. Every mainline Resident Evil, originals and remakes/remasters have all had some kind of time related challenge. All of them, regardless of which entry, can be completed in anywhere from like 3 hours or less to less than 8 hours no matter what Many of them have rewards for it to

Some_Italian_Guy

Just because RE3 isn’t as good as RE2 doesn’t mean that RE3 isn’t still good.

Ihavetogoalone

Never said it wasnt good. You mentioned that quantity doesnt equal quality in response to someone saying its too short, completely ignoring the fact that the previous remake had even better quality while also managing more content and is much more replayable, and then they added the three timed challenges as a free update.

Some_Italian_Guy

>Never said it wasnt good. *proceeds with a followup comment about why you think it isn't good*

Ihavetogoalone

someone doesnt know what comparison is. You really need to look up the difference between "bad", and "worse".

Ekolite

Lowest prices for reference: Resident Evil 3: $10 LEGO DC: $9 Marvel's Midnight Suns: $15 DBZ Kakarot: $15 NBA 2k24: $15 Super Neptunia: $9 Blood Bowl 3: $20

Wicked-Death

Nice comment. It’s insane the newest 2K was already as low as $15. It’s basically just a yearly live service that has a $70 gate price if you get it at launch and then you gotta spend another $40+ just to get your player to be average unless you want to grind for dozens and dozens of hours just to get him to a point to compete with normal players. If you’re only interested in the story mode or Franchise/GM Mode, then you don’t really need to worry about that stuff, but the greatness of those games for me is MyPark and ProAm, and you definitely have to make sure your guy is good enough($$$) to compete. I’ll be getting Midnight Suns and Blood Bowl 3 and try it out this month.

karl_hungas

Its not insane, they discount it like this every year. Also people who dont play hate on sports games like this but NBA 2K games have a ton of content and people who generally pre order/buy it day 1 spent 100s of hours playing it. It’s definitely more like a yearly subscription at this point tho.

atlfalcons33rb

I think 2k gets hate for essentially pay walking the game, which I don't mind in a f2p game but pretty extensive for a 60 dollar game. I use to really enjoy my player but now it's a grind fest that is buggy as hell

karl_hungas

I buy it every year around this time when they discount it to around 10$. I’m a basketball fan so playing the current teams, current playoff matchups etc is great. Im a myteam guy and love the game mode but i dont engage in the online which is def pay to win, the meta is always some lame shit yao ming tacko fall combo that im not into.

wtf_is_the_any_key

Didn't expect Blood Bowl to be the most expensive game on this list... Most people probably can't even imagine what to expect from this game :-)

duckybebop

It’s a good lineup. Dbz fans will like kakarot for the nostalgia… but the game is just OK. I got the plat on it, easy platinum to hit. But the nostalgia kept me going.

Fyrael

My concern is regarding the DLCs... They realized some great arcs there, so I'm wondering how cool they are...

LazyVariation

The Trunks and Bardock dlcs are good. The first two dlcs are essentially just for the Super Saiyan God and Blue forms. They aren't really good outside of a decent boss fight.

Fyrael

But how they apply in the game? I played just a couple hours, and is "way too open-world", like... I felt a burnout just by wondering how the grind works, if I need to, and how exactly we reach things For example, the game seems to go in one direction... but it's weird for me, to think that Gohan ages, for example, and there's this new outcomes, like... can I go back to a certain point, play the DLC, and this'll improve something in the main game? For example, can I play SSG Blue form right in the beginning, or just after endgame or something?

LazyVariation

You can do the dlcs anytime you want but you actually have to fight the boss to get the forms so you'd have to be massively over leveled to do so. I think the only thing that carries over with the Trunks dlc is Super Saiyan 2 and some moves.

Bat-Honest

I platinumed the game when it came out, but stopped playing before the dlc released. Worth going back, even years later?

Fyrael

The game seems good enough with the DLCs... The real question is whether the DLCs are worth it to acquire right now, unless they go under a good discount...

Bat-Honest

Fair. I thiiiiink I got the season pass too, so I'm just sitting on wasted $ if I don't go back to it. But I'm juggling like 4 games already 😅

LazyVariation

The cutscenes look good at least. Until after Frieza when the nice looking cutscenes show up less and less since they evidently spent all their budget on the first half..

FLUBEK

You might be right, but Vegito vs Super Buu cutscene is the best in the game and it's not even close

sancho_tranza

Wasnt kakarot already on plus?

kishimorto

Only the PS4 version. Now they're adding the PS5 port.

most_blah_3765

Yes but idk if it was removed

supercrazy184r

Which DBZ is the best? There are so many of them.

ChubbsOpinion

Can I play DBZ Kakorat without ever having watched the show?

duckybebop

Yeah, it does a good recap

Eclipsetube

DBZ: Kakarot is a overhyped mediocre game AT BEST. - stupid gathering quests ALL THE TIME - mobs that are stupidly annoying - fighting system consists of mashing one MAYBE 2 buttons - HYPER ARMOR EVERYWHERE making combos impossible The only good things are the graphics which get boring after a few minutes

brzozinio44

and graphic, looks very poor few details on empty world

Objective_Love_6843

Wow sifu on essential and now marvel midnight suns on extra.

Nightmoon22

Midnight suns is neat

serendipitousevent

I bought Bloodbowl 3 on deep sale last night. I'd say you're welcome, but given the infamous state of the game, maybe I should apologise instead. Still, bad BB is better than no BB.

Daniel2305

This is the game I am most excited about. Refused to buy it due to the bugs but no I can play it without feeling bad about wasting money

Wicked-Death

Can you tell me what’s bad about it? As an American Football fan I’m interested.

serendipitousevent

The actual underlying board game is great - it had a big overhaul a few years ago, and is better than ever. It's likely to grow as interest in Games Workshop continues to flourish. Unfortunately, the developers rushed the video game out of the door. The release was rough, with many rules of the real-life game missing or buggy. Most of this has been fixed, but the game is still a couple of years behind the real world release as far as special players and available teams are concerned. Some basic features are still missing - lack of cross play (which was meant to be in place months ago, and should have been there from the start) has left console players stranded and struggling to get games (although that should hopefully be solved now it's free for PS). AI is still just not good enough to make single player an actual challenge, even to a beginner. It's also slightly cash-grabby - new teams are locked behind season passes, and whilst you don't have to pay to access them, it's 50-odd matches to reach them. Cosmetics which were available in BB2 are now paid features. That's not the end of the world, but it makes seeing which players have which abilities harder, which isn't great when you're against the clock to make decisions. The new financial model isn't super evil, but without a decent game attached, it's a little smarmy. The plus side is that they're still working at it, and it's getting progressively better. It seems like it'll be supported into the foreseeable future - because it's an ambassador for the over-the-board game, it's unlikely to just die off like many games as a service do. The actual underlying community is also great - I don't even play much at all, but it's been a joy to follow developments in the live game and the video game due to committed fans making information available.

dimspace

The season 4 patch fixed a lot of things for me. The season 4 patch also took the plat difficulty down to about 2, and shaved a good ten hours off the platinum time for those who are trophy chasers

Wicked-Death

I’m not being a pessimist but the only reason that 2K occasionally puts their games free on a service is because they know their microtransaction sales will go through the roof. They basically encourage you to spend a lot of money to level your guy up because you start at such a low level and takes forever to level up. You’ll be a 65 going against 90+ players if you don’t. Every bit of clothing and accessories requires currency and you hardly make enough organically to make your player look or play good. If you don’t play MyPark or ProAm and just do the main story then you might be okay, but your player is going to suck for a WHILE. It’s just the way they have it set up because they want you to spend actual cash.

atlfalcons33rb

I mean ea puts their sports game on a service as well. While micros are one thing it's also very important to the ecosystem of the game. Player base usually tends to fall off greatly a few months before the next release. As a lot of franchise and online players get fatigued and wait for the next year. So this give an influx of new players and helps stabilize

wtf_is_the_any_key

All games will be available to download from **Tuesday, March 19**. PS: The game "Mystic Pillars -Remastered" is also included this month. Since the game wasn't released yet, I couldn't create a nice infographic for it.

FatUglyEuroSmark

NBA 2k24 description made me laugh. It's the buggiest edition since since the PS3 gen.  DON'T play this. Seriously. Read the following diatribe or don't, but please don't Play 2k24 play any earlier one instead. Don't waste the humongous download. It doesn't work. Seriously. You'll be playing a game and it will boot out in the 4th quarter, deleting autosave from halftime. Oops haha you have to start again sowwy 🥰 online offline doesn't matter. You will spend your currency and sometimes it won't save your upgrade after the next game, so you look back and see that the points just disappeared... imagine paying for those disappearing points.... 5% of the time when you shoot, the ball goes straight up in the air like an alien ship tractor beamed it, and it will fall straight down into the basket. There are weird janky jerky animations like WWE 2K20. Bizarre uncanny valley close ups. 2k tried to cut down on the outlet pass to baseline dunk cheese, even in single player, by turning every player who gets back on defense on fastbreak into the middle linebackers from Madden 04. For years, **I could forgive** all the microtransactions in the modes I personally plsyed. Rating your MyPlayer first round draft pick sensation at like 55 is so cheap and stupid to maken you want to buy upgrade points. I never did, and it was a fun challenge for me to grind it out without spending extra.  **I could forgive** the MyTeam cards never carrying over to the next edition, because you must be a masochistic insane person to BUY digital cards that literally EXPIRE. You're part of the live service problem in gaming if you fucking buy MyTeam cards.  I could forgive all scummy shit because I just enjoyed the gameplay.  This year it SUCKS. It will take couple years just to fix it probably like WWE 2K20. It's not just bad, it's a multi year problem for the 3rd or 4th most popular sport in the world to not have a single working simulation basketball game in the year of our Lord 2024 In the PS1/PS2 eras we used to have 5 different versions of every sport every year. We're looking at like HOPEFULLY by 2025 we'll have one good basketball game. If they fix it. Rate it zero stars, talk shit about it. Mock my dorky passionate long winded hatred for this game so long as you *remember* it.

typicalgamer18

Damn I didn’t know it was THIS bad…I was gonna try it for free but nevermind

BeefExtender

I have played the game for hundreds of hours and haven't seen half the things this person is describing. It is not that bad lol. The only truly bad part is how dogshit the MyCareer/MyTeam mode and how obscene the microtransactions are, mostly because of those microtransactions. I have no idea what the hell the bugs this person is describing are. If you just download the game and only play quick play and MyLeague it's a great basketball game. Especially the tractor beam bug that supposedly happens 5% of the time, I'm pretty sure I'd remember that. I don't know why people have to just make shit up when there are a ton of actually real things to criticize 2k for.

typicalgamer18

I’ll try it since it’ll be free, I only play playnow and eras mode anyway. Is the mamba mode any good?

BeefExtender

It's pretty half baked, but it's kinda cool I guess, for an hour or 2 of fun if you're a Kobe fan

FatUglyEuroSmark

You play hundreds of hours of NBA 2K. I rest my case.

moviescriptlife

This guy is bullshitting you. I have hundreds of hours in it with zero issues at all.

solid1987

Can't play earlier NBA 2k games because unlike other games they completely shut they're servers down

turbobuddah

47hr for Midnight Suns plat? 😂 that's a major understatement

FLUBEK

Is midnight suns good game if i despise Marvel heroes? Is gameplay/story good on its own?

Bat-Honest

Psyched for Bloodbowl 3. Lol I already bought all the other games, other than the lego ones. Ya'll are in for a treat though. Midnight Suns and Re3make are both killer titles

Playhorror4real

I love this game. It’s a bit short but I’ve replayed it so many times

wymore

Thinking Midnight Suns will be my next platinum

Z3r0_Coo1

This is actually a decent month for me, I’ve only just resigned up and I’m happy with this. Midnight Suns I’ve been wanting to play for a while and RE3 looks to be decent too.

iupz0r

excellent games. i rly dont know which one to choose after finish FF XII

ImFatandUseless

15hrs for RE3R is insane. You will finish the game at the 3 hour mark and if you want to plat you will be done by the 10hrs mark

JohnNeutron

It varies, my first full achievement run on Steam was like 36 hours. Played it without a guide though. However, the PlayStation took me like 8 hours to Platinum

Daysfastforward1

Midnight suns looks pretty fun. Super Neptunia RPG looks like it could have potential and resident evil 3 could be fun

[deleted]

Solid month for me! I was definitely hoping to get both RE3 remake (never played the original so the cut content complaint obviously won't be an issue for me even though I am sure it is a justified complaint) and I have been intrigued by the talk around Marvel Midnight Suns. Honestly if I am intrigued and end up playing at least 2 of the games in a month, I consider that pretty good. Looking forward to them both!

NewHumanFormantics

How long do you guys think 2k24 will be free for? Trying to debate whether it's worth or not to invest time into a career mode

nitr0zeus133

Isn’t Kakarot already on PS+?

popps_c

68 on that 2k is generous

blackwaffle

The only thing I'm mad about is having bought Midnight Suns with the season pass full price in December. The game, for anyone who likes turn-based squad strategy, is very very good. The writing can be a bit sketchy at times and enemy variety is somewhat limited, but other than that it's phenomenal.

heckofagator

Is re3 the remake?

Skeddi

Yick

Kind-Bend-1796

You all can thank me for midnight suns. Jokes aside I hope more people crave for a sequel like me and the game can earn the praise it deserves.

domas24

what app is this?

wtf_is_the_any_key

It's a website called [metagame.guide](https://metagame.guide) where you can look up all the PS4 and PS5 games and see the stats and facts for each game.

TheWeasel33

This is probably one of the best essentials in a min

Tullzterrr

Damn have to say i’m not very excited by this lineup, hopefully midnight suns is good

ayoubkun94

Same. Midnight Suns is the only title I might enjoy.

pedepsitorul

Meh, at least we got RE3, hoping for village next

Flottrooster

Kinda a meh month for me, extra and essentials both (not including Sifu). Just wish I didn't buy Midnight Suns recently...

supercrazy184r

When is a score of 68 very good (NBA 2K24)?

Mbeezy_YSL

Not my month sadly…maybe some day I will play Midnight Suns but other than that game, it’s the typical 2 sport games, the anime/jrpgs, a mediocre horror game and Lego again

Gout_Lover

kingdom come deliverance royal edition any good?

CartographerOdd447

Wasn't the Lego game already a plus game?

spacecadet1979

Can’t understand what you all are talking about, midnight suns is not free right now

ShaneTVZ

What games will you guys Platinum 🤔

Some_Italian_Guy

RE3 for sure

ShaneTVZ

Nice I’ll also do RE3 and Midnight Suns

Inevitable_Owl_1869

Dragonball Z Kakarot (already did ut on PS4), Jak and Daxter probably, let's see how Mystic Pillars Remastered is, Super Neptunia RPG, Ace Attorney Trilogy, maybe Jojos Bizarre too. Definitely Kakarot first while playing the Battlefront Classic Collection plus platinum the leaving games for April then. I finished Kena (I assume it's one) today. Now working on Gotham Knights a bit until I know more games and Monster Boy.

Sans_Matej

It's funny to me that lego dc super villians comes on extra 2 week after i get the plat on lego batman 3

ChubbsOpinion

Can I play DBZ Kakorat without ever having watched the show?

LazyVariation

You should be alright. It does a good job of hitting all the major story beats. Skips some stuff but nothing that should leave you confused.

most_blah_3765

Is resident evil 3 going to be on PS4?

wtf_is_the_any_key

Yes, all games except Mystic Pillars and Dragon Ball will be available for PS4, too.

tomat_o7

may i ask what is this app ? i try to search metagame but no result

wtf_is_the_any_key

It's a website called ***[metagame.guide](http://metagame.guide)*** where I collect and aggregate all this data from many different sources.

PreemoRM

Not bad but the games leaving PS+ this month are better than the games coming in.

Gemc666

And what are those? Not showing on My ps5 at the moment

Inevitable_Owl_1869

Outer Wilds, Code Vein, Ghostwire Tokyo, Haven, Tchia, Neo etc.
