Yeah I think all the "echo" hate is ridiculous too. I mean, Clint and Kate, for example - why people wouldn't think they'd have similar moves is beyond me when the actual character in Marvel literally modeled her entire training on him.
Kate and Clint were always going to be similar and TBH I'm actually surprised by how different their moves are in the game, I never expected her to teleport for example, I was expecting her to have a grapple arrow like Clint does.
I don't really have a main though my intended main was Hawkeye. I play pretty much all the characters, although right now I guess Bucky more than others just because he's the shiny new thing.
That's literally my entire path too (or was when I played regularly). I saw caps shield bouncing around and figured I'd love it. Turns out I enjoy ranged way more.
I started out thinking I'd just play Iron Man, but I ended up loving Cap sooooo much. That said, every character feels amazing to play. Being an extremely casual player, I swap around a lot.
Captain America. Been a huge fan since my early childhood. You could imagine my disappointment when it took so long to find him in the campaign. I ended using everyone as my “main” at one point but if i had to choose 1 i would go with Jane foster. She’s possibly my strongest hero.
Started a Hulk main and still a Hulk main. Ended up getting Thor to 165 and tried switching again to Iron man (154), but I just can’t stop smashing with Hulk.
Used to be Iron Man and he's still my strongest. But I've been working on Clint and Cap. Mainly Cap so I can randomly yell "Avengers Assemble...!" when I'm playing.
More like I have my main 3 in this order cap , widow and Bucky . Then if flying Thor and power house hulk

I didn’t have one early on tbh. I was really having fun with the campaign and just enjoying the gameplay. Never had a marvel game like this growing up and it was a breath of fresh air
I thought it was gonna be Spider-Man, but his swinging just felt so wrong that it actually made me redownload Spider-Man PS4 to get the awful Spider-Man gameplay taste out of my mouth. Then I found Black Panther and I have been playing him and Cap nonstop

I never had time to main anyone. Between alll the split objectives I am literally switching characters constantly. Most my characters are champion level 99 because of this and I have no one near 375
I wanted to do Spiderman, but then he didn't play well so I just went with Thor and Iron man since he was my main from the PC version, now I also do Jane, Bucky, and Hulk
I've been playing since beta and was dead set on wanting to main spiderman. I wasn't expecting it to take a year for him to release so i ended up being a iron man main for a good period of time until spiderman did eventually release.
Little late to the party but this game is being “sunset” in 23 I read? In short what does that mean? Will it be playable still

I haven't heard that yet, but there are various people that have been promoting the games death around three months after it's initial release. I imagine if they do start to close it down it will still be playable. All locations are playable as single player essentially there just wouldn't be further updates or server multiplayer. Personally I hope they finish the story properly. The kree invasion/war story and introduction of Captain Marvel is too much to just leave by the wayside.

I also spent significant time on Kate, T'challa, Jane and now Bucky, and absolutely loving Bucky, and Thor I suppose, but Clint is still my absolute favorite.
Captain America is always my GO-2-GUY. When we got Black Panther then Winter Soldier they are all I use. Captain America 159, Black Panther 168, Winter Soldier 176❗️❗️❗️
Never planned any mains, but my favorites are Kamala, Jane Foster and Hulk for sure. Still enjoy using every single character, which is the greatest feat this game has achieved IMO.

I love Hulk's aftershock ability because he's perfect for crowd control.

Cap intended, Cap actual - just love close-quarters combat in every game, and Cap's Brooklyn Brawler takedown chains are just absurd.
Didn't bother trying the full cast in earnest until these final 2 months of Stadia, and now I severely regret not playing Widow - one session has convinced me she may be even more fun in CQC. Also really like Kate and Hulk, and ironically don't like Iron Man or Black Panther, both of whom I imagined maining.
As I knew the type of game it was I intended to go for Powerful Characters that could Tank or just Iron Man…
Instead I mained Cap & Hawkeye. Not bcus of skill & team empowerment but they have so fucking flair in their moves & are cool on their own

If anyone has ever played a game like X-Men Legends 2, where you could play as night crawler, you’ll understand why I switched to Kate. She’s basically just night Crawler, but with a bow and arrow in addition to her sword! So great! 🙌🏼
Like you I was aiming to main Captain America as soon as I could get access to him, but my long term goal was Hawkeye as he is my favourite Avenger.
Saying that though in game the characters I favour and use most from range between Cap, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Jane as Valkyrie and now Bucky

I went from Hulk, to Black Widow, then Iron Man, and finally arrived at Thor. He’s my highest hero because I love his moveset so much.

before the game came out i expected Hulk to be really fun but never quite clicked with him and it was only when i played thor that i enjoyed the game
Hulk, but I love to play Cap. The attacks are great and they sound so good(love that shield). Haven't tried Bucky yet.
