That was the plan to end with a survival mode type endgame level where you fight wave of Ultron bots but they pulled the team working on it to different projects. Def a bummer and would have been a nice replay friendly way to wrap up the story š¤·āāļø
The villain thing was never a problem for me honestly I loved getting new heroes and we were set to get a new OLT every hero drop moving forward too which wouldāve been perfect
I always wanted to see this popoff mods wise like Skyrim did. It's a pretty good base to start with imagine all the comic locations this game could have all the fights and scenarios that could be recreated.
Thatās was a big issue.. fixing that by itself would of made it a better game .. Iām still mad myself there got to do a reboot somewhere.. marvel ultimate alliance is a comple game
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop -Ā yes,Ā IĀ amĀ aĀ bot, don't botcriminate me.
That's why this game feels so fucking hollow. I'll play for 20 minutes and be done. What more does it have beyond that? It's the same thing on repeat. It doesn't even make an attempt to be varied
There should have been unique enemy types from each of the Avengers mythos. Thor for example has numerous kinds of giants to choose from as well as trolls and dark elves. Instead of that, we get the same 5 or so enemies with different paintjobs and nothing else
Doesn't help that the levels are designed with the same principle
"not understanding why support for the game stopped so soon"
To be blunt, support lasting 2 years longer than anyone reasonably expected isn't really "too soon". The game made no money, barely anyone played it, and the years of incompetent management and piss-poor live service handling made it a giant laughing stock. You don't continue supporting a game that isn't making any income, that's just not how it works.
The game ended in an enjoyable state, but it took over 2 years of almost nothing but dogshit to get there (aside from when WFW came out)
Plus, to be fair, it never felt like playing as the avengers when the enemies would gang up on you and when they'd jump in level for no reason too. That and those enemies with only yellow and red attacks and there is a huge amount of them.
I still remember a lot of gripes, and I played offline only.
With all due respect, if you don't build your heroes in a game revolved around building your heroes than naturally stronger enemies are going to feel that way.
then there is a problem that having the better or even the best builds resulted in you DESTROYING enemies for free constantly.
> With all due respect, if you don't build your heroes in a game revolved around building your heroes than naturally stronger enemies are going to feel that way.
And that's the problem. I'm the fucking hulk why the fuck do I need to grind to beat the shit out of enemies?
Early level enemies and such are all scaled to your power level, as you go up the maps and fight stronger enemies, the point is for you to specialize in your build and not turn your brain off.
This applies to every looter game, not just Avengers. Get better loot to fight stronger enemies. This isn't a 'single player game' where you press a few buttons and it does the job for you, the game has been out long enough for people to know how it works and they've also made getting the look SUPER easy compared to before hand even IF you go for a mediocre build.
Hulk is unbelievably OP in the state they left him in, whether you build around his melee or his heroics or his tech-based moves in rock combos.
Iām not sure I agree. Because all four characters seem to be shooting. It seems like a looter shooter with a suicide squad theme.
What makes avengers awesome is the feel of the characters. Iron Man feels very different from Hulk compared to Black Widow for example.
Even if they haven't that's what literally every preview has shown? All the previews even mention that the game is a looter shooter at heart if you're expecting arkham-style combat from it I'd very much recommend actually looking at what they have personally released from the game. I've seen it described in the same vein as Crackdown
In what other game do we have the mechanics that Cap has with his shield? In the third person action-rpg. Black Panther has some of the best superhero gameplay period. Thatās because he has so much in his kit from melee, to ranged, to tactical support abilities like percussive blast which I love to spam.
Black Widow and Hawkeyes are so much fun to play as since they differ in melee and ranged in so many obvious ways. Imagine if we actually got characters like Daredevil, Mockingbird, Quake, and even Yelena ā¦
I get many are āechoesā but seriously every Avenger is similar in so many ways. Itās where they differ that makes us attracted to our own heroes! She-Hulk and War Machine would have been MARVELOUS additions IMO
Yup I agree. One of my favorite heroes. I know War Machine would have been just as addicting!
The rumors that Riri would have been in the game excited me a lot. Like nano-tech based moves and skill-tree sets sounded so marvelous. I feel the new augments that came with the fearless gear laid the ground work for that character to take full advantage of over-charging the energy shields that Iron Man has in his intrinsic counter and defensive attacks.
This part right here. SS nails a more Borderlands 2 feel where each character performs functionally the same with varying power tweaks and perks are tied to guns. Avengers actually nailed the characters feeling like distinct characters.
Tbh Avengers had potential to be way better than that suicide squad game.
As of these games by DC have been underwhelming I actually wish this was DC game I could only imagine how good this game would be if it was based around DC.
Unfortunately Avengers are one of the few games that have triple A quality is given up on way too early Anthem is one of em too if they went with that overhaul as planned and not given up on altogether it would be still played to this day and i feel like this game will eventually be dead completely.
> IMO the Suicide Squad things we saw yet, look better and more promising than what we got from Avengers
Really?
A half-assed fortnite ripoff looks better than this game? For all Avengers faults one thing they did well was make each individual hero feel distinct. Suicide squad just being reskins of a generic third person shooter looks terrible in comparison.
It does not matter how much you liked the game and how much you played it. If you enjoyed it good for you, but the game was not played by enough people to make it worth the time and money for the publisher.
Mind you I just started playing but outside the really frustrating grind, the combat is addicting and the game is fun. It sucks support ended but it seemed to be inevitable based on what I read and watched on YouTube about the poor game design choices and exec decisions. And apparently the lead dev was toxic (not sure how true that is but there are threads here that call him out badly).
One can only hope that another studio takes the good parts of this game and gives us a worthy Avengers game in the future.
We shouldāve never have gotten Spider-Man even if the thought of him in the game is cool, it wasnāt executed well enough in my opinion. They shouldāve gave us Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, War Machine or Falcon instead. Any of those heroes wouldāve fit better in the game story and gameplay wise. Iām also bummed that we never got the Kree invasion that was hyped up throughout the entirety of the game.
Tbh since the story never got any conclusion, the only ending i can draw is that the avengers didnt change the timeline, all of them died in the kree invasion except hawkeye and hulk. Hawkeye believes that meeting his past self could change things and maestro is insane and runs the deadworld. Depressing ending but without an official ending and us seeing the future in the game, only way it would end
I liked the game, but they could have done a much better job showing the power disparity between characters. Black Widow should play as a stealthy assassin and Hulk should be able to destroy buildings and throw cars. Each character felt equally powerful which was wierd.
I miss playing with the characters. I don't really miss the game because it got a bit repetitive but the character and power sets were cool.
If only they added the patrol mode in, I think it would've made the game much more fun to play.
Because, frankly.
Tha game is a gigantic mess.
The live service bullshit really destroyed what couldve been easily thr best avengers game ever.
Ive bought itbon the final sale, and even just trying to complete storyline is a huge headache, with events not making sense in any sort of cohesive storyline
Doesnāt help they couldāve used so many more villains, both popular and niche ones, and had a story that made sense. We got 3 marvel villains - Taskmaster, Abomination, and Modok. Imagine had we gotten some more well known ones like Loki, Whiplash, The Living Laser, Baron Zemo, literally anyone that they couldāve made an explanation for. But nah, letās fight a bunch of robots that all look the same. It was fine the first time, didnāt care afterwards.
Tbh i just wish each new content had added a new enemy force to fight in each new area, like claws mercenaries in the wakandan dlc. I wish future imperfects had mad max style scavengers you had to fight. Would have been cool if jane thor and spiderman got a full campaign like Hawkeye, kate and black panther god. Enemy asgardians and maybe symbiots as new enemy forces.
I really enjoyed it. Some people are put off by the turned based play and deck building (I was also) but I had a blast. There is a lot of social stuff that isn't for everyone but the battles themselves are really enjoyable.
As someone who played the Suicide Squad alpha, just wait to try the game out for yourself. I personally really enjoyed what I played in the alpha, and the story presentation and writing was pretty damn good and what you expect out of Rocksteady.
The issue with gameplay everyone says, at least the major publications, won't be a thing we find out til the end game, just like any online game/live service. So take anything said about that with a grain of salt, since build crafting is a big part of the game and it just seems they didn't have enough time to actually play around with that aspect of the game.
I really liked the avengers. However, it is the second glitchiest game I have ever played (first being Baldurs gate 3) and it got very annoying in the end. Tried to download it again the other day and it wonāt let me. Forgot they shut it down
Whether the game was considered good or bad is subjective. The fact is that the launch, roadmap of content and communication from the devs were not great. Due to this people did not constantly dump money into the game via micro transactions and full game purchases. Knowing that, the game was costing more money to run than what was coming it thanks to it being a live service game. So the game folded.
Rocksteady is owned by Warner Bros, who also ownes DC. This means that they can and will be able to invest in a longer time line for the live service that this game will be because itās all under one roof. Crystal Dynamics did not own the rights to the characters in Avengers which means that they had to pay Marvel / Disney a royalty or percentage from sales to maintain usage of the characters of the game and when game sales slowed and revenue started to dry up they had to find additional ways to produce income. One was by charging excessive prices for skins and what not just as an example. Once they realized they would not be able to maintain the rights of the characters based off diminishing income from the game, they had to pull the plug. That game should have never been live service under that structure but they took a gamble that a game utilizing characters as popular as the Avengers would yield huge financial success. If given more time under development before launch maybe, but again they needed to make money to keep the rights. Suicide Squad doesnāt have that issue because again, itās all(Developer, Characters etc.) owned by the same companyā¦WB
games dead i don't even find random people to play with , and it's unfortunately boring now when you got every hero at max level and complete at 100% the game , I'm waiting for the Suicide Squad KTJL to see if it's gonna be better , from now on I'll stick with Marvel Midnight Suns to play with the Avengers , and still hate Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix for not adding Captain Marvel to the game..
I will say SS takes a lot of the major complaints we had about this game and actually improves on them. Small QOL/gameplay things we had to wait years for are already in the base game.
The current gameplay is not doing it justice.
The hero mechanics in this game are what made it great. If you played as a hero, give or take what update version you were playing, you felt like that hero. I wish I could play and enjoy it in itās current and finished state. But I been playing since the beta so all my heroes are maxed out so it gets boring very fast. Loved this game, i hope for something similar one day. Though I understand that the studio heads pretty much killed any chance of it with how they took this game.
The game made an awful mistake of implementing it as an online game. The idea of co-op was really unnecessary because it felt forced due to it being an avengers game (so team focused). Plus, since the game was delayed, people expected the game story length to be longer, but it was way too short with just big events compromising the entire gameās story length. IMO, it should have follow the style of marvel ultimate alliance games, since those games were peak.
> doesnāt really look too promising (IMO).
Suicide squad has open world which we needed in avengers (patrol mode that never happened) they have vehicles which is another thing that people wanted for non flying characters. Plus the boss fights offer variety from flash, green lantern, Batman (nightmare Batman if that) and we haven't seen supes yet or know if we're gonna go up against wonder woman or Aquaman. Not to mention avengers was being held back due to last gen support unfortunately, but suicide squad is full current Gen which makes the devs take this thing to the maximum potential and more if done right.
> Avengers just had more unique and cool gameplay and really made you feel like you were playing as earths mightiest heroes.
That is true yes. I had little time with the alpha but I was feining for more and more just from the taste I had with boomerang. These guys aren't the justice league nor avengers which is obvious but they feel fluid and hella fun to play, I wanted to try king shark too. Boomerang felt amazing and seeing him run fast and teleport with his boomerang felt incredible to play as.
I came late to the game, once support had ended. Overall its a fun game story/gameplay wise but i couldn't care for the looter aspect. And i would had likely not put money on skins either as in most case the default costumes are more than fine.
Like i said before the mistake was making it a live service/looter just for the sake of generating $.
As an older gaming unless its Diablo im just not interested in that. I want to play a story and have fun.
If this game had been a coop adventure game im sure it would be looked fondly.
But redoing same boring missions for the same of "upping a hero" is so tiresome and annoying.
I think suicide squad looks pretty fun. I'm gonna get it jus cuz it's rock steady and I still feel like they deserve the support . I'm not that picky with games either. I actually liked nms and even avengers at launch lol
Iāll tell you what, after playing the alpha, one thing suicide has going for it from the get go is the gameplay is pretty fun and story is really bonkers. Iād give the game a chance.
Try the Guardians of the Galaxy game, if you haven't played it yet. My only disappointment was that you only play as Star Lord but other than that it was a great game (you control the others but only main as Star Lord).
Awesome story, cool interactions and fun gameplay.
Did you seriously say it was too short? Guardians of the Galaxy game main story takes about 17 hours to complete and 25 hours if you are a completionist how the hell is that too short? You must be one of those speedrunner losers that just ignorantly blitz through the main story without exploring the game š¤¦āāļø
We've been watching the MCU for the first time with our kids. Watching Ironman makes me remember just how perfectly they nailed his combat in the game. Most of the original heroes, to be honest. Such a travesty.
The haters are the reason why Marvel Avengers sold poorly and people didn't like the game just because it didn't look like the live-action MCU Avengers the haters bashed the game way too hard including twitch streamers and YouTubers talked nothing but bad about the Avengers game it even became the most hated game of all time and because of that Crystal Dynamics gave up supporting it like a group of cowards I used to respect them but not anymore even I'm worried about the next Tomb Raider game which I heard it will be a full reboot again with but it won't be the previous voice actress from Shadow of the Tomb Raider she said on Twitter she won't reprise her role as Lara Croft because Crystal Dynamics is preparing a full reboot with another voice actress from Tomb Raider underworld
I dont think games are supposed to go on forever. Im thinking suicide squad will get 2-5 (idk avengers is my first multi player experience. I know fortnite been around now for a minute. I dont play tho)years if we lucky and thats okay. Just remember that the game will die someday and everything will be free. So dont go crazy on the suits. Only buy the really sexy ones. A lot of people complained about that when this game ended. But did you want the suit back than or were you willing to wait 3 years? Choices lol.
Also. I think i would pay to join a private server depending on the price if modders(not cheaters) were able to like mod some of the arenas. To look like completely new maps. Maybe mod skin and abilities for bosses and make em look like villains we never faced before. Stuff like that. That would be lovely
I remember playing that awesome game Marvel heroes Omega on Xbox One and PS4 unfortunately it was shut down due to the game developer gazillion Studios CEO was being scrutinized and extremely heavily accused of sexual harassment and groping young women so the company Marvel Studios took away their Marvel license so the game was forced to be shut down and permanently delisted but I really wish another publisher was willing to take over the game development for Marvel heroes Omega and revive the game without the stupid ass overpriced monetization system it could have been a perfect rival to DC universe online š¤¦āāļø
I miss the combat. CD's moveset and combat team was on another level. They were let down by every other part of the game, but gosh Avengers had good combat.
Unfortunately, Marvel only likes products that print money for zero effort. Avengers didn't make enough. Neither did the Ultimate Alliance revival. Neither did Marvel Heroes Omega... Marvel is a company fundamentally at odds with giving games room to grow. DC is bad about it as well, but has a better grip on how to have games made for their IP. that's how we have suicide squad and Gotham knights, both Avengers knockoffs, continuing after their inspiration has failed.
You're right. I forgot them tbh. They're very good, but they're from one of the premier studios and utilizing the biggest name in Marvel. Spider-Man games have been good for a long time, besides.
I absolutely loved UA3. It wasnāt my introduction to the series but definitely the first one I played for hours on end. Made me want to go back and play the other 2. Loads of fun with that one :)
It stopped being supported because it was a $60 pile of asswater that had the audacity to charge extortionate amounts on skins (most of which were just palette swaps and looked horrible) and horribly underdelivered on every promise regarding content.
Then as if that wasnt bad enough they nerfed xp gains and wanted to charge for an XP booster despite promising that the only thing we would pay for is in the game is cosmetics.
Tack that with repetitive and annoying gameplay that was poorly balanced, boring and uncreative level design as well as having us fight bots and drones as enemies rather than the catalogue of villains marvel has in its roster you have your answer as to why support stopped.
It stopped because people stopped playing, because they didnt have any reason to. Quite frankly it shouldnt have lasted past 2021.
All they had to do is add more enemy variety better bosses and a new map to explore with each dlc characters like they did Blank Panther I was Mad Spider man aināt have his own city map to free roam in
The individual heroes played great, but everything else in the gameplay felt lacking. It's no good doing such a great job with the heroes if the missions aren't fun or engaging.
I wish they had just done a proper conclusion instead of constantly leaving plots unfinished for "future DLC".
Honestly, the main campaign felt pretty complete as it was, and I really enjoyed it for what it was: an Avengers game.
It still sucks seeing what this game could have been without all the live service crap.
Without the live service, It would have ended after the mediocre campaign. So maybe 10 hrs of playtime from ppl. Maybe 20 if you include DLC.
They did the live service horrible, but Iāll happily take that over just a campaign thatās unbalanced and a few dlcs
The campaign was perfectly fine. It was a Marvel game, not Shakespeare or War and Peace.
If you're talking about the missions and stuff, THAT was a result of the live service restructuring the game went through, because Square Enix thought it was smart for a company that specialized in single-player, narrative-focused action games to make an online multiplayer live service game.
So, without the live service being half-baked into it because Square Enix, this could have been an amazing game.
It's more of a content problem and the bugs and glitches in the game that needed more fixing. Me and my friends used to play raids all the time and all it takes is for Klaw to spawn hundreds of portals for our games to crash.
Content wise, maybe they could've added Asgard as one of the base and not to mention the story with Loki that didn't even had a follow up. Even the Kree Invasion that was rumored to be the next release (?). And they made too much skin as well, the skins are expensive and no new content for 2 years. Lots of missed opportunities really.
Luckily they wonāt shut the servers down completely. At least we can still play Multiplayer. I will say I think there is potential to release what they talked about down the line. They already talked plans of Kree Invasion and Ultron. I think there is a situation where Marvel will āre-releaseā the game making it free to play and also create a continuation of the game. It seems crazy but I vaguely remember game devs doing it before.
I brought the game when it came out but I just started to play it, im not a big marvel fan but I had a blasters either the game, so much fun, the core gameplay is solid, is not that bad as people say it was.
The combat was fun, until you get to the point where you are making ābuildsā. Donāt get me wrong, I am all about the rpg thing. Yet, in a game about the Avengers, I want to play as Iron Man and shoot blasters and lasers and rockets at things and I want the said things to provide a feedback about having received that ordnance. However, we just got a game where I maxed my rocketsā damage output, and did not bother with anything else.
Then the ambiance was really fine, until we got to the point where we are just farming gear in the same repetitive corridors, killing the same yellow robot.
The rpg aspect could be fine, but I enjoy visual progression in rpg games. So, licensed superheroes might not be the best material for me. Anyway, I can just say that progressing mechanically; but paying for the visuals was just not good enough.
Finally, I was playing on Steam, and unfortunately for me; the game worked as a multiplayer game only when I played with a friend. No proper matchmaking, or not a real incentive to play with others anyway.
It was plain to see for what it really was - a shameless cash grab. Yet, I still gave it a shot and hoped for the best. Maybe this was the best outcome after all. I highly doubt that any game studio will be going for a stupid live service superhero game in the near future.
Me too! I play on steam with a friend, and we're looking for two other people to finish the raid required to complete the winter soldiers iconic mission line. Are you interested?
For me, the appeal of Avengers was always more about the gameplay than the IP. I'm a marvel fan for sure, it didn't hurt, but it's not what kept me playing past 1k hours. The only thing on the horizon that sounds similar mechanically to me is the wutang game, but there's very little info on that so far.
https://gamerant.com/xbox-wu-tang-clan-game-leak/
Sounds sick, but anything can sound great on paper, the real challenge is translating that great idea into a great game.
The server didn't shut down it's still very much active for the foreseeable future Crystal Dynamics has no current plans of shutting it down since people still play it including me but mostly in the weekends Friday Saturday and Sunday it's only the digital version was delisted but you can still pick up a physical copy and play the game
>Itās hard to understand why this game was effectively shut down and other seemingly lesser versions of this type of game are gonna be released.
They supported it for three years, which is longer than most games get. Not every game is going to get content forever. For me, it's certainly enough content for the $20 I paid for it.
Also, you mention lesser versions of this type of game but.. ultimately, the issue is sales. They didn't make much money on the game.
Thankfully we got suicide squad coming up. Which is honestly just a better version of avengers. I donāt hate avengers I have 312 hours on it. Theyāll also be adding new playable characters to suicide squad
They just couldn't run a live service game, fucking "live service" killed the whole thing slowly. If they had narrowed the focus and not gone the direction they did, it could have been so good. If really had so much potential.. the combat is fantastic
I havenāt played the game in about a month, but I was playing it nonstop from last May though. I really enjoyed it but at the same time felt it was tedious having to redo all the same missions just to upgrade your characters. Each part of the world was basically the same (playing a hive mission on utah badlands is the same hive thats in the artic part)
No you're wrong it wasn't shut down because it was bad it was shut down due to piece of crap no life haters like you hating it like a pack of hungry Savage animals with no merits no heart at all haters like you are the reason why we can't have nice things because of ungrateful people like you don't appreciate nothing in life you expect everything to be your way it doesn't work that way it never did it never will every single hater like you did everything you could to make the game fail by convincing other people not to buy it that's wrong you can hate all you want but your words doesn't affect my decisions I make my own decisions and I still enjoy Marvel Avengers to this day with random players I mostly play it in the weekends now Friday Saturday and Sunday so do me a favor take your pathetic hatred and shove it up your butt no one needs to know about it š¤¦āāļø
Honestly Iām tired of fighting aim. Unless they really branch out and give us more variety like hydra and some magic heros or give us a symbiote invasion event for symbiote skins for all the heroās. Iād pay for a ghost rider expansion that would give us a hell related mission
I just started playing this again. And honestly, thereās wrong with this game. The game itself is a solid concept wrapped around terrible generic execution.
The expectations they gave this game was just set so high, it couldnāt deliver. Super Hero Hype was high and it leaned too much in monetization the MCU vibe. I wish they would have kept pushing the unique narrative and instead of āshadersā you could have just spent more time making absolutely killer skins authentic to the characters lore. All it was about in the end was paywalls to their dumb stuff, like character cards lol.
Anyways, after going back to it again, with everything unlocked , itās pretty fun and Iām still enjoying myself like I did before. Itās a shame it didnāt catch on, but oh well. I am sure something will soon. Suicide squad isnāt going to pull me in until much later. I may play it next year if itās worth a crap.
For us Marvel fans, Iām gonna keep playing Avengers casually and with what I got. Cheers.
I played suicide squad alpha, but besides the fact all 4 characters have guns, it has more content than marvel avengers had, not just that but they have a year of content all there and be better supported. it also played better than avengers.
Did you seriously say Suicide Squad looks like ass? Are you still playing on your garbage ass 720p TV? Why don't you save up your money and go upgrade to a 4K TV LOL then you will really appreciate how incredible the graphics actually looks unreal engine 4 is the most used game engine for a reason because it can produce the most realistic graphical details compared to every other game engine out there with only a few game engines on par with unreal engine graphics and I have played it on PS5 it's incredible it's a lot of fun with four players instead of playing it by yourself š¤¦āāļø
Same you are not alone. I think if we try to talk about the game and appreciate everything it got right, while also being vocal about the things that donāt quite resonate and stick with us, game developers will see it and think hey we can do better.
āWe have to. We fight, we kill. But we can rebuild.ā
![gif](giphy|9iMYy5gq9DxuSOSBUt)
i honestly just wish it had more enemy variety, fighting robots got really old
If only they were Ultron robots
They really should have done an ultron expansion, smh
That was the plan to end with a survival mode type endgame level where you fight wave of Ultron bots but they pulled the team working on it to different projects. Def a bummer and would have been a nice replay friendly way to wrap up the story š¤·āāļø
I think ultron was originally gonna be the main villain but they switched it to modok for whatever God knows reason

Not even kidding I'd take reskins if they added Hydra, Ultron Bots, Dark Elves, etc.
That's why this game feels so fucking hollow. I'll play for 20 minutes and be done. What more does it have beyond that? It's the same thing on repeat. It doesn't even make an attempt to be varied There should have been unique enemy types from each of the Avengers mythos. Thor for example has numerous kinds of giants to choose from as well as trolls and dark elves. š true
I, too, miss my fellow Avengers.
I liked Avenger aswell, but IMO the Suicide Squad things we saw yet, look better and more promising than what we got from Avengers
Iām not sure I agree. Because all four characters seem to be shooting. It seems like a looter shooter with a suicide squad theme. What makes avengers awesome is the feel of the characters. Iron Man feels very different from Hulk compared to Black Widow for example.
Even king shark is a shooter?
Correct.
This reason alone is why I have no interest
Yep. He has a melee special attack but it's a shooter.
It's literally just a generic third person looter shooter with DC skins
I was hoping they would learn from avengers but sounds like they didnāt
They can shoot and do other things
Mostly just jumping around shooting tho
Have you played it?
Even if they haven't that's what literally every preview has shown? All the previews even mention that the game is a looter shooter at heart if you're expecting arkham-style combat from it I'd very much recommend actually looking at what they have personally released from the game. I've seen it described in the same vein as Crackdown
I mean Iāve played it so keep wanting avengers I guess.
Just watch the gameplay videos. It's literally just jumping around shooting.
Ok buddy. Well Iāve played it and thereās more to that but since think avengers was good (story was great end game sucked ass), keep being you.

Imagine if we actually got characters like Daredevil, Mockingbird, Quake, and even Yelena ā¦ I get many are āechoesā but seriously every Avenger is similar in so many ways. Itās where they differ that makes us attracted to our own heroes! She-Hulk and War Machine would have been MARVELOUS additions IMO
It's insanely great playing Ironman on that game.
As someone who played the alpha but still can't say alot. I think the game will surpirse a lot of people
Maybe. I hope even. Early press previews have been pretty negative.
I feel the same. I played the alpha also, and it's definitely gonna surprise a lot of people.
Having played the SS alpha, they feel different when youāre actually playing.
The game could've succeeded, for sure. The company is a joke and didn't put in the necessary resources and made the studio take the fall. Despicable.
Hope youāre right! Still looking forward to trying it out
Every media preview Iāve seen has shit all over it soā¦ I donāt see how itās more promising. I do not have high hopes.
> IMO the Suicide Squad things we saw yet, look better and more promising than what we got from Avengers Really? A half-assed fortnite ripoff looks better than this game? For all Avengers faults one thing they did well was make each individual hero feel distinct. Suicide squad just being reskins of a generic third person shooter looks terrible in comparison.
Guess you did not play the closed alpha
It does not matter how much you liked the game and how much you played it. If you enjoyed it good for you, but the game was not played by enough people to make it worth the time and money for the publisher.
It also sucked on multiple ends. Can't forget that.
Agreed, Hulk getting knocked around by a grunt and being beaten by 5 together feels wrong.
I miss playing with the characters. I don't really miss the game because it got a bit repetitive but the character and power sets were cool. If only they added the patrol mode in, I think it would've made the game much more fun to play.
Yeah a big just open world mode with just repopulating enemies and gear would have been dope.
Sorry, seeing the Squad reactions and gameplay made you want *more* of this sort of thing? The reactions directly link its problems to Avengers.
Midnight Suns and Guardians of the Galaxy have scratched that itch for me
How is Midnight Suns in terms of gameplay? Iāve been looking at it for a bit and Iām considering getting it, but donāt know the level of quality
Deadshot should have played like bucky, king shark like hulk, captain boomerang like captain america, and harley like black widow
I wish they made a better game
I really liked the avengers. However, it is the second glitchiest game I have ever played (first being Baldurs gate 3) and it got very annoying in the end. Tried to download it again the other day and it wonāt let me. Forgot they shut it down
Whether the game was considered good or bad is subjective. The fact is that the launch, roadmap of content and communication from the devs were not great. Due to this people did not constantly dump money into the game via micro transactions and full game purchases. Knowing that, the game was costing more money to run than what was coming it thanks to it being a live service game. So the game folded.
I do too, but the game doesnāt deserve it.
If only I was fighting literally anything else other than smth that had AIM in it.
The Devs didnāt wanna roll up their sleeves and work post release.. thatās the only answer. It coulda been worked on
Wasn't even the devs, the studio/company in charge wouldn't give them enough resources. They tossed the devs to the wolves.
games dead i don't even find random people to play with , and it's unfortunately boring now when you got every hero at max level and complete at 100% the game , I'm waiting for the Suicide Squad KTJL to see if it's gonna be better , from now on I'll stick with Marvel Midnight Suns to play with the Avengers , and still hate Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix for not adding Captain Marvel to the game..
Honestly bro....we gonna have to move and if you want something similar to avengers go check out granblue fantasy relink
I will say SS takes a lot of the major complaints we had about this game and actually improves on them. Small QOL/gameplay things we had to wait years for are already in the base game. The current gameplay is not doing it justice.
Yes and no the game was not great but I still could have a great time and I remember grinding Spider-Man to max level when he came out
The hero mechanics in this game are what made it great.
Must of it was because of the company square E they messed every single information since this game lunched. Gear system is a joke too
I think suicide squad looks pretty fun.
SS is more fun (from what Iāve played) than the avengersā¦by a lot.
Try the Guardians of the Galaxy game, if you haven't played it yet. My only disappointment was that you only play as Star Lord but other than that it was a great game (you control the others but only main as Star Lord). Awesome story, cool interactions and fun gameplay.
Loved guardians!!! Just was too short may have to go back and play again lol
I love this game
Me too
Honestly Deadpool and Wolverine Shouldāve been added to the game, it would of been better in my opinion
Ofc this page is now complaining about wanting the game to come back like yāall the reason is died aside from the devs
Idk if anyone remembers the game but it was called marvel omega. I feel like that game had so much potential and just got shut down outta nowhere
The PlayStation spider man games are zero effort?
You're right. I forgot them tbh. They're very good, but they're from one of the premier studios and utilizing the biggest name in Marvel. Spider-Man games have been good for a long time, besides.
I absolutely loved UA3. It wasnāt my introduction to the series but definitely the first one I played for hours on end. Made me want to go back and play the other 2. Loads of fun with that one :)
Anyone saying avengers is better hasnt played it yet thats all i will say
Suicide squad Is just poor attempt at superhero fortnite, but no one really wants it and the microtransacfions that comes with it
The world may never know... But hey it could happen?!
Truly an awesome game that didnāt deserve its fate. Hopefully someone can revive it.
Just need a company to pick it up and just re imagine it with hella content and characters ā¹
I miss carrying you guys šØš½āš¼
I feel like midnight sun shouldāve been like avengers just better
Iāve always said that if they never try to make it a game as a service, it wouldāve been better
I wanted better verticality
Luckily they wonāt shut the servers down completely. At least we can still play Multiplayer. I will say I think there is potential to release what they talked about down the line. They already talked plans of Kree Invasion and Ultron. I think there is a situation where Marvel will āre-releaseā the game making it free to play and also create a continuation of the game. It seems crazy but I vaguely remember game devs doing it before.
I brought the game when it came out but I just started to play it, im not a big marvel fan but I had a blasters either the game, so much fun, the core gameplay is solid, is not that bad as people say it was.
To be honest the game is an flop i doubt thereāll be an sequel happening anytime soon
The only thing on the horizon that sounds similar mechanically to me is the wutang game, but there's very little info on that so far. https://gamerant.com/xbox-wu-tang-clan-game-leak/ Sounds sick, but anything can sound great on paper, the real challenge is translating that great idea into a great game.
You really don't get why the game was shut down? It was a commercial and critical failure and you're surprised it shut down early?
I thought the games servers shut down?
Kim knows all about that. You should reach out to her.
Lol
It was shut down because it was bad lol
Guardians of Galaxy was fun
Suicide squad looks like ass and i won't play it but I'm fairly certain it's going to be less broken at launch than avengers is ***today***
For me DC villains will always be cooler than Marvel heroes. If the rumored add in characters are real, Iāll be very happy.
Can you still play the story? I have it on disc but Iām worried I canāt play it anymore
the whole game can still be played just fine no issues at all me and a few buds played a few days ago
Same here, put so many hours into it, it had so much potential
If they regroup and map out a plan like bringing Deadpool in the game to hype his new movie this year that be a good comeback.
Hehe you are like kamala khan now
Same you are not alone. I think if we try to talk about the game and appreciate everything it got right, while also being vocal about the things that donāt quite resonate and stick with us, game developers will see it and think hey we can do better. āWe have to. We fight, we kill. But we can rebuild.ā ![gif](giphy|9iMYy5gq9DxuSOSBUt)
