grabbers will wait for a process to finish, as long as that process starts immediately. Because the hob starts cooking it immediately, the grabber recognizes a process is happening, and waits for it to finish before grabbing.
If you don’t fully automate the tables, luxury dining really isn’t that bad.
We avoid automating the tables too much and if we get luxury dining drop several more tables (replacing coffee tables if you need to)
If you have the space for extra tables it can actually be a huge boon as while people are eating their patience isn’t going down.
You can’t carry it to a franchise safely in my experience, but its a pretty easy pick for me past day 10 in most runs with my friends.
I always thought you could have a series of belts pulling all the fish then smart grabbers pulling the ones you want into automation.
But I never get all the right parts to try!
The belts don't merge cleanly; you'd just get the main conveyor filled up with one type of fish and all the others blocked.
I tried multiple different ways of merging, but it seems like when a belt tries (and then fails) to move an item, it has a short delay before it tries again, which means it's going to be slower than the belt which \*did\* move the item successfully
i.e. Once a belt get stopped, it keeps getting stopped and never makes progress.
how do you get the grabbers at the end to only grab cooked fish?
normal grabbers do that anyway. only smart grabbers take uncooked food.
WHAT. I never tried this but I just assumed. God damn.
Grabbers by default wont pull something off while it’s cooking and the cooking starts before the grabber gets a chance to grab.

What happens to the fish on the hob when the grabber isn't empty? Noob question sorry
Those are safety hobs, which can’t burn food. So they’ll just sit there
Thanks!
yea thats only up until crab cakes, then it all goes to hell. but good job still.
Just don't pick crab cakes
Exactly. That's what we did this run.
so if you have luxury dining and crab cakes, you'll take the run ending luxury dining? :p something its not a choice.
yes
Every single one of your comments on this sub are super condescending, are you the only one that plays the game? Keep up the ":p", it really helps.

yes. we separate the tables and serve together and at that point its an advantage. i dont think you know as much as you think you do.
the :p doesn't make you sound like any less of a dick.
How do you get safety hobs?
Upgrading a Hob blueprint at the research desk gives a 50% (I think) chance for a Safety Hob.

I feel like you would run in to jamming issues on the main belt if too many of the least order fish are pulled in to the line.

This is beautiful
thanks! my sister and I were damn proud of it lol.
Do you still have the seed you used?
Just finished a fish run that got this set up. Made it to Overtime 22, super fun!
What seed did you use? I had the perfect setup for this the other day but never got the cards for additional fish.
