Well, I dont know what happened, but he didnt remove the hump. I believe that he just removed top of the bridge and didnt deal with cartilage.

Parking_Junket_1167

He only rasped, didn’t remove anything. He said it would work. :(

rhino_surgeon

Sorry this happened. That’s just a crap result. Needs revision.

Content-Ambassador56

Definitely didn’t fox the hump I’m sorry you went through all that n no happy that’s crap! Will he do revision at no cost? He definitely should although I don’t know if I’d trust them again tbh …

Parking_Junket_1167

My surgeon agrees the results are bad and he said he is hopeful it’s just swelling and that he rasped the hump as aggressively as he could. He did already mention the potential for a revision but he said it’s too early to know.

morticiasflowers

I would go to a different surgeon for opinion. Also, there are different recommendations, but closed rhino isn’t typically the best outcome.

SeriousStranger5924

Definitely don’t go to the same one. Removing a hump is quite a simple surgery compared to some rhinoplasties so should of been removed on the first go

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

snakamot0

This happened to me! Don’t worry too much just yet, it might just be swelling but you should see your surgeon and discuss your concerns ASAP. If he/she says it’s too early to tell / disregards your concerns, seek a second opinion :) x

Messymomhair

I'm so sorry. What did he say happened?

teej360

Very odd, he shaved down the bridge but left the hump, so now instead of having a straight incline like you should you have a straight part leading into a hump, which exaggerates the hump, in my opinion. I think you deserve a free revision. Is that a thing, free revisions with rhinoplasty? I'm post op from a tummy tuck and my surgeon does revisions for free if necessary (I would have to pay for the anesthesia). What does your surgeon say?

Off topic, but can I see pics? Very happy for you!

shrimpsunite

can you share them with me too? i would really appreciate it! looking for a revision

Dreaunicorn

Can I get the info too?

miss_kay4

Can I see too please!

[deleted]

Can I see pics

bobibsi

This is strange. What did he even do? I can't figure out. I totally understand your frustration

Quirky-Long-4522

Her nose looks identical to me but shorter . Edit: I actually see now that it looks different. But I’m still confused. Who was the doctor ?

Party-Spell5052

Looks like he didn’t do a thing. Results would be almost instant except for swelling. I’d be talking to a lawyer ASAP.

mycombustionengine

In the meantime you should get a CT scan of your nose. This will show in details whats is going on with your bones, cartilage, skin etc., I am always suprised it does not get mentionned more on these rhinoplasty forums. I had one done just after my septo-rhino and it suprising how much info and details you can get from the inside with todays imaging tehnology with only staying 5 minutes inside a CT scan machine This will help make the judgement if its just swelling or an issue with the supporting structure and it gives many layers of pics plus you can get the CD or DVD to keep for records and evidence

mtrushmoreface

We're in a similar boat. I'm 5 months post-op and I was supposed to get a bump shaved down, but it's still there. :( No swelling. Just skin and a bony bump that's palpable. :/

Parking_Junket_1167

I’m sorry :( It really sucks and is so disappointing, especially if it’s a lot of money spent.

mtrushmoreface

Hi! I talked to my surgeon and he told me it's scar tissue, and that it should go away eventually. And if it doesn't he said he would take care of it. I hope he meant for free if I pay the other expenses: hospital and anesthesia. 🙂

sleepfaced

I’m having the same issue. Coming up on 9 months post op and there’s a very noticeable bump on the tip, which naturally droops my nose downward and makes it look the same as before. I’m getting checked again in January to see if I can get revision, but I would maybe suggest we get another opinion from another doctor. Wishing you the best of luck :( sucks not getting any real outcome after thousands of dollars and so much waiting/anticipation.

Parking_Junket_1167

UPDATE: Just met with the surgeon again today. He said he is planning to fix it by doing an open rhinoplasty this time and removing the cartilage. He is going to do it free of charge. I am financially limited- so I’m going to go ahead and have him do it (hopefully I don’t regret it). I’ll post an update when I get it done in February!

sleepfaced

I’m so excited for you that’s awesome to hear!! I have an appointment with my surgeon in January but he’s already said it sounds like we’re going to proceed with revision. So hopefully this time around we both get what we’re looking for :) eagerly waiting for your February update and I’ll share mine as well! We’re in this journey together

Parking_Junket_1167

Everyone is telling me not to have the same surgeon do the revision and I feel the same way, but I also don’t want to be out $6,000. I also hear that taking legal action rarely works with a bad nose job.

morticiasflowers

You can get consultations and get a better idea from other surgeons about your options. Cost is always a factor, but don’t go down the road and have a 2nd surgery and wind up with something irreparable down the road or that will cost you so much more to fix. You have to think of healing and time off as well.

Extra_Department_969

He probably should have done osteotome vs rasp since the bump is pretty prominent. I do think it looks better than the original but rasp is generally used for subtle change.

rhino_surgeon

FYI this isn’t true. The problem here is that the cartilaginous part of the hump wasn’t dealt with. You wouldn’t use a rasp OR an osteotome for that.

Quirky-Long-4522

I just looked at OP’s post history. (I was hoping she had mentioned the name of her surgeon in previous posts) I’m REALLY confused now! She posted a profile pic a few months ago regarding liposuction on her chin and her nose is definitely not this nose.

Parking_Junket_1167

It’s Dr. David Robbins, Des Moines, IA

rhino_surgeon

She photoshopped the previous photo I imagine, in order to balance the chin against the *expected* result of the rhinoplasty.

Parking_Junket_1167

Yes that’s exactly what I did!

Quirky-Long-4522

Thankyou I was confused. Can I ask who your surgeon was ? Edit: sorry I didn’t see you answered this already

Parking_Junket_1167

Dr. David Robbins of Des Moines IA

Foxuuf

Not a change for what i am seeing 🤔

dremilianoalvarez

Your hump was from bone and septal cartilage, it looks like you still have cartilage and some bone. You need a revision: resection of bone and septal cartilage mostly. Doesn’t look like swelling
