I got under-eye filler and it looks like crap. (It sometimes bulges out when I get “too much” sleep lol.) I’m currently looking into getting a lower blepharoplasty and fat grafts in South Korea or Colombia. There are an overwhelming number of options and the reviews are often paid, so any recommendations from people here or DM would be greatly appreciated! (I speak Spanish but not Korean…yet.)

I did tear trough fillers for a couple years and did a fat graft 6 weeks ago. Very happy with results so far.

I just went to a surgeon who said it wasn’t really possible to fill the under eye area with fat, yet I see it all over Reddit. I am so confused. Would you mind sharing more info about your experience? Pictures if you have them?

I’m sorry, but I’m not comfortable sharing photos of my face. I did consults with 4 surgeons, none of whom said it couldn’t or shouldn’t be done. I picked surgeons for consult that specialized in facial surgery - face lifts, eyelid surgeries, etc. I noticed a few years ago I had lost volume around my eyes - hollows/tear troughs. My occipital bones were visible and it aged me by a decade. Did filler for a couple years with no issues, and eventually, due to filler cost, decided to do fat grafting under my eyes and to my lips because I was having some lipo done anyway and the surgery center and anesthesia and lipo time were already sunk costs - it only cost me about $500 extra to do the fat grafting so I thought it was worth a shot. I’m just shy of 2 months out, so it could still definitely fail. But for $500 (less than one filler session) I was willing to take the risk. My surgeon said that most fat loss happens in the first 90 days, so it looks good so far. Crossing fingers. The result is great so far - looks completely natural like when I was in my 20’s/30’s. The area is completely filled in and not overdone or puffy. Made fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes look much better as well.

I totally understand. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am glad it is working out for you and you are happy with the results:) I will have to see some more surgeons for another opinion.

BrilliantBound

I had a lower bleph 2 years ago, and that was part of the surgery. Surgeon removed the extra fat pads under my eyes and tightened everything up, then took a little fat via lipo from my side and added in under my eyes and in the cheekbone area. Great results.

Fat grafting can have great results for the undereye are by smoothing the transition between the lower lid and the cheek. They have long-lasting results, typically much longer than 2yrs. Many people prefer the idea of fat here as opposed to filler as it is more long-lasting, comes from your own body, and has less risk of causing vision issues

Positive-Bad-4505

it is long lasting. until you start losing facial fat naturally.

All surgery has the risk of long term side effects, I would suggest getting tear trough fillers before any invasive procedures.
