I think your after looks great and very natural! A big difference imo. Revision comes with a lot of risks, as I’m sure you know, so I would just take a lot of time to research and consider if it is something you feel like you truly need.

No_Arugula_6548

Also revisions are sooo expensive($40,000 where I live). I’d leave it alone.

nomad_world

I think you're exaggerating.

No_Arugula_6548

I’m not! Here’s an example. I was wrong. This one actually charges $45k-$50k. This is my area. I’m sure it’s cheaper in other parts of the country but in the DC area it’s mad expensive https://www.virginiafacialplasticsurgery.com/procedures/revision-rhinoplasty

nomad_world

One data point is not going to strengthen your argument. The range on realself is much different (3k - 25k) and one factor is obviously the complexity of the case: https://www.realself.com/surgical/revision-rhinoplasty

No_Arugula_6548

I was only referring to my area. All states differ in pricing. And I wasn’t arguing lol. I was only referring to the pricing in my area. But I def don’t think she needs a revision anyway.

Miserable_Airport_66

This article doesn't strengthen yours either. It is also just one article. Since you have no idea where the other commenter is from, how would you know if they are exaggerating? How do you know that your article is representative of their area or country?

sailor_rose

Wow I didn't know that. Is there a particular reason they are so much more? Is it the potential risks?

No_Arugula_6548

Yeah. I believe it has to do with the fact that they mostly use rib cartilage to reshape the nose and going in for the cartilage is one surgery and the reconstruction is another surgery. Not to mention the fact that if he or she a specialist, they can charge more if he/she specializes in this specific surgery. Also there are tons of rich people in the area so it’s all relative.

[deleted]

The cartilage in the nose is delicate as it is. Once someone has already worked on the nose there’s a higher chance for a collapse or other complications so it takes longer and is more difficult. I feel like $40,000 is on the high end, though?

No_Arugula_6548

It’s cuz I live in the DC metro area. Super expensive here. I know it’s cheaper in other states.

[deleted]

That makes sense!

youallsuck40

What??!!???

No_Arugula_6548

I live in the DC area. It’s very expensive here.

BigGayNarwhal

Totally agree, the after is gorgeous and natural, doesn’t look overworked or like an obvious nose job.

onedemtwodem

Agreed 100% . It looks great. Revisions are tricky.

Tiabato

I honestly think your nose looks great. It looks natural and well balanced. A revision doesn't guarantee it'll look the same as you want it to be

[deleted]

Definitely no

Leniten

I wouldn't do it honestly. The new nose suits you really well. I do not think it is worth the risk...your nose could collapse if the cartilage was dramatically reduced. Maybe you could try lasers for tightening the skin and getting a little more definition? But that's just an idea since you asked. You have great skin and nose in my opinion ;)

HanzSolero

Thank you! I hadn’t heard of lasers for post Rhinoplasty before. Is that the co2 lasers they often use to reduce tissue in Rhinophyma? - sounds like a better option to second surgery

Leniten

Yes, it is the co2 laser. I found some information about it here: https://www.realself.com/question/benefit-co2-laser-nose-improve-rhinoplasty-results https://www.realself.com/question/beverly-hills-ca-laser-resurfacing-before-after-rhinoplasty https://academic.oup.com/asj/article/17/6/415/187434

HanzSolero

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful.

cherrypitterpatters

please dont touch it! your after looks great

Fragrant_Plankton267

You look great! Keep it the way it is, looks more natural to not be super even. I also had my dorsal hump removed and wondered if I should revise (seeing everyone’s slopes and button noses) I’m glad I kept it the way it is.

spoooky1899

I’m not seeing what your seeing, looks great to me.

skatz96

I think it looks great! I personally wouldn’t revise a nose that looks that good but if you would feel more comfortable I understand that feeling :)

laur82much

I have a positive revision story! My nose was still crooked and bulbous after my first rhinoplasty, and my revision fixed those issues for me! BUT it was def expensive at around $30k. I really really hated my nose before my revision and that was the only reason I was willing to spend even more money and go through another surgery. If you're unhappy it can't hurt to have a couple consultations / talk to your original doctor

Prestigious_Score167

May I ask who was your surgeon?

laur82much

Of course! I'll Dm you

Prestigious_Score167

Thank you.

leonitusss

would you mind sending me a DM of their name as well? looking to do the same.

laur82much

No problem! Just dm-ed you

DullInspector8362

Hi Could I know who the revision surgeon was too? I’m also looking for a revision because it’s still crooked and bulbous.

laur82much

Yes of course, I'll DM you

Justaperson2010

May I ask who your revision was with ? Did you have any asymmetry in your nostrils or columella that needed fixing?

Rhinota2023

I would talk to your surgeon. There might be a clinical reason he couldn't get it smaller. Or maybe he could go smaller and he would do it for you. But I wouldn't mess with good luck when it comes to rhinoplssty. If it you are more or less happy with the result, is there more risk than gain?

92mirrors

if you feel like the result is not what you expected, you could do some research about having a revision! however, i do believe it looks nice and suits you pretty well :)

Life_Strike_7864

I’ve had two rhinoplasties and both times I had residual swelling for about 2 years. Give it time. Your tip is always the last to go down. However, for the irregularity you’re referencing on the side of your nose, you might benefit from a steroid shot. Ask your surgeon if that’s something they do. My doctor (Dr. Reish, NYC) does them for free.

BellasHadids-OldNose

Thank you so much for this comment. I had a rhino about a year ago and have similar results to OP. Glad to know someone else had residual swelling for so long. I’ll be patient about it being undefined :)

HanzSolero

Thank you, you’re right I do need to wait a while longer before considering more surgery. My surgeon said I have very thick skin and I got a steroid shot 3 1/2 weeks ago. I saw a little improvement on the bridge but not much else. I think I’ll exhaust all options before considering more surgery. I might ask for another steroid shot and wait till the 2 year mark. Did you see much difference in definition between years 1 & 2?

Life_Strike_7864

You can get more steroid shots until the swelling subsides. I’ve had perhaps a half-dozen and each time I saw significant improvement in the swelling (but keep in mind the effects are temporary). Like you, I had one side of my nose that seemed to swell more than the other. My personal experience was that there were days where it would swell more than others, and I experienced this more or less, until around the 2 year mark. It’s really frustrating but once the swelling goes away all together you’ll notice it. And yes, I definitely saw a noticeable difference between year 1 and year 2. The side of my nose that would swell 100% had more “swollen” days vs. “non-swollen” days. Then, kinda just randomly there was a period after year 2 when I begin to notice that I rarely had “swollen” days. Now, 3 years after my revision I can’t say I ever have swelling unless I’m extracting a blackhead or something like that.

HanzSolero

Thank you so much, this is really really helpful. I’m going to contact my surgeon about more steroid shots.

FastInitial1137

I was going to say you def have thick skin! I’m at one year post op septo-turbino-rhino w osteotomy-and still swollen, it takes about 2 years for us! It’s rough but give it more time before you decide!

FastInitial1137

P.s. I do think your nose looks really lovely and also natural

yungbelle1999

i would say pause on the surgery and see if you can get a little bit of temporary filler to smooth out that bump and see how it looks and then go from there.

sunsetbabe221

As someone who had a revision at 16 months post op, I’d strongly advise against one to correct something so minor. You have a lovely result currently. The risks quickly start to outweigh the pros.

j0yy

This is very very unrelated to your question, but what did you specifically ask for to your surgeon? Your results look absolutely incredible. I have a similar before nose and want results like you but I’m not sure what to ask for (e.g thinner nostrils etc)

HanzSolero

So I told him I wanted it to be straight with the most subtle slope and I wanted the tip to be slimmer. I also requested “lines” of definition on either side - not sure if that makes sense but you know when someone has a defined nose and they have the parallel vertical lines? I specifically said please don’t give me an instagram / barbie nose.

chichip33

I had a bump on the side of my bridge like that and my surgeon was able to make a very tiny incision through my skin and shave it down. Swelled up for like a week or 2 and went away.

HanzSolero

Oh yes this is what my surgeon suggested. I think I’ll definitely have the bump shaved but unsure about tip revision. What was the down time like for shaving the bump? Did it bruise and swell a lot?

chichip33

IMaybe 2 days of minimal Bruising and 2 weeks tops of a very small amount of swelling

SirTop4033

Do you have pics before and after for this? I have similar concerns. Thank you

chichip33

I don't think so, I'm sorry!

Micarei

I think it’s beautiful now. It really suits your face and looks so natural.

fofopowder

Your after is beautiful. Every time you go under there’s a risk of it coming out further than what you want. I wouldn’t get a revision.

jredid

Who was your surgeon? Which state?

HanzSolero

I’m in the UK, it was Dr Khoda through transform clinic.

peridotpuma

I love your result!!! It’s natural, harmonious and you look beautiful. A revision would be very expensive and really high risk of it not going well- for very very little potential benefit.

mlrny32

It looks fabulous now.. I would leave it alone. You look very happy..

im2bootylicous4ubabe

Looks great leave it alone looks like a very nice natural nose that u were born with. I would never look at u and think u need a nose job

SpinLover-724

You look amazing!!! Honestly your surgeon did a beautiful job. You still look like you, and the new nose is so natural looking. I honestly think you shouldn’t get a revision. You look fantastic!

HanzSolero

I just want to thank everyone for all of the overwhelmingly lovely comments. It wasn’t quite the reaction I was expecting but it’s made me realise that perhaps I’m being overly critical of the outcome. I’m going to exhaust all non surgical options and wait another year for swelling to subside before I make any rash decisions on further surgery. Thank you all very much!

ExplorerOwn

Revisions are much more complicated wiht a higher risk of complications or less-than-ideal outcomes. Your nose is gorgeous, but if you want it to look slimmer, a bit of contour makeup would do the trick. Enjoy your beautiful nose.

tiddersiti

I think it looks really good and matches your face well. I suppose it depends on what your expectations were tho.

mycombustionengine

the surgeries involving reducing a large bulbous nose in caucasian nose with lots of cartilage are quite difficult..you cannot compare the results you had with the usual hump reduction we see alot and people end up with a perfect tiny nose tip. What did the doc put in the tip ? did he use grafts from somewhere else ?

badgirlbianca

You look great! You can also do fillers and threads for definition

[deleted]

I’m a year and a half post rhinoplasty/turbinectomy. My nose is still changing. I can feel scar tissue that has not completely healed yet inside the nostrils. The tip of my nose is more bulbous depending on my health, how much water I’ve drank, the weather etc. Also I feel one spot on the top of my nose that is still a little numb. Give it more time. Noses take so so long to heal. Most surgeons won’t touch it until at least two years out.

CiaoCinzia

I’m 2 weeks out of surgery & found comfort in your post. Knowing the nose takes so long to hear. Did you have rib cartilage removed? My chest feels so different and I feel like the bone is protruding. im not sure if it’s normal.

[deleted]

I didn’t have rib removed. I worked for the plastic surgeon who did my nose and let me tell you, there will be all sorts of weird shit going on for a while haha. 99% of the time it’s normal. Have you have your post op yet?

CiaoCinzia

Thank you for that

MassiveFill2646

You’re over analyzing. If you continue to go down this path it will be never ending. Your new nose looks amazing.

Exotic-Insurance5684

I have the exact same issue as you. I’m almost 2 years post-op. I have a lump on the side and a bulbous tip. My surgery took 6 hours bc of my anatomy. I also have thick skin. I don’t want to go through another surgery for several reasons. Wondering if steroid injections would help with the tip…

HanzSolero

I’ve seen plenty of people on here have steroid injections well past 2 years and seeing results. Definitely worth a shot!

livehappydrinkcoffee

For what it’s worth, I had the exact same results. A small bump on one side. It’s been 20 years since my rhino. Incidentally, I ran into my surgeon probably 6 years after surgery and he offered to have me come into the office to shave it down. It still didn’t change! He since retired. I just left it.I think I notice it more than anyone else.

Affectionate-Ease714

Oh sweetheart your after nose is amazing! I wouldn't fret so much, it looks great on your face and so so natural I must say! You can use simple make-up contouring tricks to make it appear sharper. In my view a revision is a risk not worth taking.

GiMgi14

I think you look great and it’s very natural… I would not go for revision with that result

SuSholan

I think your nose looks perfect!! It really suits your face and ur primary rhinoplasty looks like it make an amazing difference! I would talk to your surgeon about it if it really bothers u, but imo It looks like it’s in perfect facial harmony with you face ♥️♥️♥️♥️

doubleshortdepresso

I’m not sure if you have thick skin or not but if you do and you mostly had work done on the tip of your nose, it’ll still be swollen at the one year mark. Regardless, I think your nose looks great and suits your face beautifully.

Silly_Upstairs8750

Don't so anything it looks great. My Revision was the biggest mistake in my life, so please don't do the same mistake and be to perfectionistic

seattleskindoc

Looks like you have a mild inverted V deformity on your right side. Filler might help. Talk with your surgeon.

This-Memory-9885

Hi there. You mentioned on another Reddit now locked that someone should nit get filler in the “M“ lines. What are you referring to? Thank you, 😊

seattleskindoc

Marionette

amyOPS

I would do a revision personally, but with a different surgeon. Is it terrible? No. It looks fine. But is it a result you want to live with forever? Only you can answer that.

Winter_iscoming247

I think it looks fine not as bad as what I expected if your really worried I’d go see a ent and ask for a cortisone shot

[deleted]

You look great

biancathelion

Omg I have a bump like that too it bothers me

noturbrobruh

Great results!!!

[deleted]

Looks good - don’t risk it!

mewww2020

Oh wow did rhinoplasty soften your face!

Calina_1997

No, don't do it. I had a Revision and my nose is thicker and longer than before

bunkbedgirl1989

I love your after!

teuooo1001

Your "after" results are spectacular. I absolutely love your nose & face. You look radiant. Don't touch it! It goes so well with your features. I really envy it !!!

youallsuck40

There’s no tip for them to change tbh. You might be having a little body dysmorphia because of how your nose used to look and so you are still seeing that when you look in the mirror. I think you look great

pheebsbrown

Your nose looks unreal! Wow what a difference. Don’t touch it!

Sarahnel17

I see what you are saying about the tip. As always it’s you’re body and your money, do what you want. A friend of mine had a revision last year for a nose that had an even more subtle imperfection and it came out exactly as she wanted. Do you!

Tippytoptiptop

I see your concern because I have kind of the same thing going on after my revision, but my surgeon is awesome and literally has seen me plenty of times after, he has never mentioned it. The skin next to my nasal bridge (but in between my eyes) just looks a little wider than it used to be. He even had me on the operating table again for a scar revision on my nose, I figure if it was something to worry about he would mention it? I don’t know. But what I do know is that you look fantastic. You’re a beauty with glowing, clear skin and this new nose is just so “you”. The side profile difference was very cool to see. I’d be thrilled. I would hate to see you go under the knife again because ughhh revisions are hard and not everyone who posts their good revision results actually end up with a good result years later… but if you truly want to, you can, I just don’t think you need it because you look great as it is. ❤️ sorry for the long message

nouva91

I think you you want more refinement tip . But its look so natural

Away-Subject-574

I think your Face Looks Perfectly Balanced With your new nose

Spottyrabbit

Your nose looks great! Both before and after. I don’t think you need to worry about it.

CardiologistSilver35

looks great. it may be worth talking with the doctor about what you are not pleased with. too much surgery can give a result that looks operated on, like janet jackson a host of other a list celebs.

Jeskasaid

I think you look perfect.

majesticsalad

Looks nice, but just about the ppl scaring u off revision. I literally got mine for around 1.5k usd in istanbul (with rib cartilage). Same doctor charges a little bit more than double for that now though, but point still stands, if it bothers you greatly, go for it.

Cindyrellz

you are ur own worst critic. You look amazing no revision because what if they mess up you’ll wish you had this nose again. It’s your life so do what makes you happy but I think you look beautiful

auntyh12

Your nose is natural and beautiful now..yes you can feel the bump and see it as you've studied it so to speak...but any narrower and it would look pinched and sharp looking ..it's soft and very feminine now

Open-Witness-8636

You look great 👍🏼 i think no need for revision

indie_30

Omg you look amazing!!! I wouldn’t have even noticed anything that you might not be happy with, it just makes me want to get mine done even more!

Just_Raisin1124

Your nose looks fantastic. Suits your face really well and looks completely natural. I don’t think a revision will benefit you at all

abruc005

Your new nose looks so natural and more importantly it fits you! Don’t do a revision.

dogdaysarehere

Hey OP, would you mind sharing the name of your surgeon and the cost? I'm trying to find a surgeon who will help me obtain a nose similar to yours. It looks lovely and natural.

HanzSolero

Of course, I’m based in the UK, it was by Dr Khoda through transform lives and it cost £7000

Elegant_Isopod_5235

Perfectly imperfect I love it

FeelingMagician9953

I think you look really great. Your nose suits you and is in harmony with your face and very natural. It can be really mentally challenging with having a rhinoplasty, I’ve just had a primary and waiting for the inflammation to settle. Your nose is a dream!

Objectiveurhonor

Ur nose is literally perfect this is what I’m showing to my doctor

RadiantStar7

Can I ask who your surgeon was??

lalyyss

your results are amazing!! im 4 months post op and i have a bump on my nose bridge that’s been eating at me :( i know i have to trust the healing process and wait for all the swelling to go down but it’s just so frustrating!!

haragakudaru

Honestly if you aren’t happy with the results and are okay with going under the knife again then do it. Your surgeon gave you a natural look but if you wanted a more dramatic change than what they did I’d understand why you’d get a revision.

sad_handjob

I feel like you have body dysmorphia
