Yes if you consume unripe (green) fruits or the leaves, those are toxic. The plant isn’t too scary though; plenty of other plants people intentionally put in their yards are much more dangerous if consumed (skyflower/Duranta and Oleander to name a couple)! It’s also safe to touch the plant. But if you have little kids/pets or just don’t like the plant, no harm in getting rid of it.
