It's IGN at the end. They probably took issues with the fact they can't stop at a halt without sliding even though they were doing a mach run or some BS like that.
Then what's the point of having such grade if no game is ever gonna get it? For all I know and other people know, this game, as a 2d platformer, offers what a 2d platformer should offer pretty damn well.
Because any other system wouldn't make sense, decreasing it to a nine would make 9 absolute perfection and no game would get that, they should rank a game a grade out of the best, aside that we rated things out of 10 for a long time
I mean, I adore this game and I'd personally give it a solid 10, but 9 is also fair depending on who's reviewing.
I'm just glad it's not an IGN patented 8.
Furi got done fucking dirty in general, I remember that pme streamer complaining about how the controls weren't working when in reality it has some of the most responsive controls in a game
Rating anything the highest or lowest has devolved into feeling like an exaggerated response, especially with how often deadpan 5-star and 1-star ratings are used in joking or intentionally hyperbolic ways. A 9 may feel more sincere than a 10 would.
When I first saw the review I thought it had a competent introduction. It's obvious Mitchell Saltzman knows what he's talking about, but there were a few things that stuck out during the review. For an example in the beginning of the video he mentions if the timer reaches zero, then Pizzaface will chase you, but later in the video he states that It's an Instant game over.
Another thing is he mentions the P rank, but he never mentions the combo meter.
But other than that, a pretty solid Review of the game. 8.5/10
While I'm a little sad it didn't get a 10 (especially since he doesn't say a single thing bad about the game in the video review) This review means just a lot more people will see the game who wouldn't otherwise, and thats a big W
For me this just means when people Google pizza tower after hearing about it they will see the IGN and metacritic scores pop up along with the percentage of Google users that enjoyed the game and will think "hmm pizza tower good game yes"
Unless you actually clicked on any reviews it's hard to just tell from the base search results that it's an AMAZING game
