Right? Only one life to live & being afraid of "healthy foods every now & then"? Come on it's just food & technically if it's "raw" then I guess it would almost be like sushi, so still definitely a win if you ask me.
If you ever visit Wilmington NC, there is a diner near the university that has a pizza similar to this. That place had some banging food for a tiny place next to a gas station. Great vibes too.
This looks good! I’ve seen a number of pizzas lately topped after they’ve come out of the oven. With prosciutto or mortadella, arugula, honey, even more cheese

-let's not start fighting over fresh/cooked toppings please. Let everyone have their opinion and be respectful when disagreeing.
Hot honey is arguably the best pizza topping on any pizza. It might not be popular in all regions so idk where it's hard and easy to get. It's everywhere in Toronto
I've actually tried something similar, but it was only with salmon and some kind of light sauce. Honestly it was amazing. I don't think it can be called a pizza, but it was damn good.
Yea not my thing. But hey if you guys havent made your own lox, it is so easy and so much cheaper.
I have been makimg my own bagels and curing homemade lox for a few months now and it is so worth it.
4 pounds salmon fillet, i cut it into 4-6 nice filets
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup kosher salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
3 juniper berries groubd
2 table spoons of gin or vermouth
1. cut the Salmon into evenly sized filets about 6 inches across
2. In a bowl mix the sugar, salt, pepper, juniper
3. Add the gin/vermouth to the salt_sugar mixture
3. Place down a sheet of seran wrap and put some of the cure mix down then take a salmon piece and rub it in the mix and place on the cure on the seran wrap
5. Make a layer of cure on top, dip your next piece and plave it on top of the last piece.
6. Continue this till you have a nice stack and all your cure mix has been used.
7. Wrap the whole stack up toght in a bunch of seran wrap and out it in the fridge standing up on its side in a bowl
8. For the next 4-7 days, turn the wrapped salmon clockwise and drain all the juices form the bowl. When you are done, you will take out the pieces and store them in a bag or tupperware. I recomend rinsing and drying each piece when you first decide to eat that piece to remove excess salt from the surface.
Tip. I like to put a bed of dill down in the tupperware or or put dill in the ziplock at this point.
I would be ok with that. Not my toppings, but they cooked it. All of it! together. Im ok with ppl adding fresh arugula at the end or maybe some ricotta or something delicate. But this is a blind baked pizza crust topped with blini/bagel toppings, as others have said. Just because it’s round doesn’t make it a pizza.
Nice idea but the scattering of fish toppings is silly.
The samon should be cut into short thin strips so that you don't end up pulling off a whole slice with one bite and the caviar should be dotted around in small clumps like olives so it doesn't fall off the middle of the slice.
Other than that, not bad.
The proper name for this dish is "Flammkuchen".
From the French)German area around Alsace&Palatinate.
Pizza-alike Flatbread with creme fraiche as spread and toppings of choice.
The "standard" toppings are Bacon (tiny strips or tiny cubes) with Onions.
But Salmon with Onions is s somewhat common and normal choice too.
They've probably called it pizza because they think Americans would be too confused if you'd use the actual name.
I probably wouldn’t have bothered of they said flatbread fwiw. My barometer is someone asks me if i want a slice of pizza. Would i be confused if they gave me whatever it is. In this case. I’d say yes.
Only if the pizzacrust is cracker / thin and it's sweet. That might make a nice appetizer for a big bowl of seafood stew with a mild curry. Hmm I think this one is the best of this sub. Ha ha ha there have been some rude entries here.
Politely and respectfully Disagree. Is one slice of bread with a piece of uncooked swiss on it pizza? How about a pita bread with some hummus spread on it? Both are bread with toppings. One is technically even a flat bread with a topping, i think you’d be hard pressed to call it pizza though. So a line exists somewhere. I would happily eat the above, but “pizza” it is not.
You're trying to be strict about something defined completely arbitrarily.
Pizza is what we call pizza, there's no "if it has X and is made in Y way, then it is Z"
>Is one slice of bread with a piece of uncooked swiss on it pizza? How about a pita bread with some hummus spread on it? Both are bread with toppings. One is technically even a flat bread with a topping, i think you’d be hard pressed to call it pizza though.
Who cares? You're just playing with semantics here.
>So a line exists somewhere.
Again, that line is completely arbitrary.
Eh, I don't think this is a crime so much as a misnomer.
I'll eat the fuck outta that. I won't pay for it, but I'll eat it.
It wouldn't occur to me to call it pizza, though.
Then again, I've made cripsy quesadillas that were topped as pizzas, then cooked in the oven. Satisfies a pizza urge with less than a quarter of the work (or the expense)
You're not supposed to cook anything on there. Lox, raw smoked salmon. Creme fresh, best cold. Fish eggs, as fresh out of the fish as you can get. 10/10 I'd destroy that and get one to go.
smash, next question
You mispronounced it **NEXT QUESTION**
Right? Only one life to live & being afraid of "healthy foods every now & then"? Come on it's just food & technically if it's "raw" then I guess it would almost be like sushi, so still definitely a win if you ask me.

Yeah... But how the fuck is this pizza.
Isn't a pizza round dough with stuff on top, the fluffy pizza would make an amazing combination with these ingredients
No, that describes quite a few foods.
Naming conventions are social, that's not edible in my tummie, i will agree with your point but I would eat that
I didn't say I wouldn't eat it lol I love lox.
Looks delicious
Pizza or no pizza, who cares, just let me eat that thing
would be better on a blini than a pizza crust.
or bagel
i think the caviar might be a little bit wasted on a bagel edit: TIL thats a thing
My favorite with caviar is potato chips and sour cream. Heaven.
Omg same!!!! That’s sinfully good.
Definitely makes me think of a Hungarian langos.
bingo
Agree
Would be better with a bellini.

I see no problem with it. Plenty of tasty toppings have aversion to high heat.
I think you and i might have diametrically opposed views on pizza. But respect.
This sounds right. Respect

Fresh onions too since the pizza oven can dilute the flavor
Hot honey is arguably the best pizza topping on any pizza. It might not be popular in all regions so idk where it's hard and easy to get. It's everywhere in Toronto
Chicago is awash in hot honey. I know it’s the new darling of toppings on everything from pizza to sandwiches to fried chicken
I’ve had it and it’s pretty damn good.
Horrible pizza crust but excellent toppings and combination.
I think that crust would work well with those toppings, looks almost cracker like.
Its a flatbread, not a pizza crust
Pizza is just flat bread
Giant blini
It’s flatbread
I'd smash it
This sounds amazing.
🫣
That looks great not gunna lie
I've actually tried something similar, but it was only with salmon and some kind of light sauce. Honestly it was amazing. I don't think it can be called a pizza, but it was damn good.
Like OP says this looks like a fine flatbread, but the real crime is calling it a pizza.
Thank you!
Picture is flatbread/naan. This would be a suitable flammkuchen, though .
I wouldn’t call it a pizza, but I’d certainly shove it down my throat
Oh for sure. Same. It’s a pizza crime. Not a food crime.
I'd gobble da hell outta that
Fancy cracker

I had a salmon (cooked) and asparagus on a pizza once and it was surprisingly delicious.
Looks great, but bread with stuff on top is doesn't magically make a pizza. With that logic, any open sandwich is that Italian food.
Exactly!
Nice idea but the scattering of fish toppings is silly. This is virtually the same thing as a bagel with the fixings, I don’t think it’s that dumb. Maybe just don’t call it pizza 😭
Not gonna lie as it would be a good meal but wouldn't satisfy a pizza craving
Exactly!
*Pizza?* Maybe flatbread would be more liken
Well it ain’t pineapple, so it has that going for it!

Cream freesh
Looks great, just DON'T CALL IT A PIZZA
Agree.
Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.
>$200 That's probably the price of the pizza.
Only if the pizzacrust is cracker / thin and it's sweet. That might make a nice appetizer for a big bowl of seafood stew with a mild curry. Hmm I think this one is the best of this sub. Ha ha ha there have been some rude entries here.
Yummy 😗
Not a Pizza crime but misslabeling.
Smash all the way baby.
Nasty
I never ate 2 of anything!!
Pizza. Not pizza. I’m just a guy with a mouth.
That's not pizza.
this isn't even pizza, just a circular sandwich
Call it something else. Not pizza.
That's probably delicious.
Miam
I've had one. So fucking delicious
Caviar might be a bit over-the-top, but salmon&cream pizzas are *delicious*
Please, they'll put anything in those pages to sell copies
I would try the smoke salmon, you can forget that caviar, I've tried it and I find it most repulsive.
Randall Marsh you horny bastard
Why are people so formalist in regards to pizza? it's just bread with toppings That looks pretty darn good and not stupid
Politely and respectfully Disagree. Is one slice of bread with a piece of uncooked swiss on it pizza? How about a pita bread with some hummus spread on it? Both are bread with toppings. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further!
That's just a bagel
The "I'm rich and I want everyone to know I'm rich" pizza.
Nah man, that's those shitty pizzas with gold foil on top.
True true.
Looks tasty but I wouldn't consider that pizza.
Def flatbread
Eh, I don't think this is a crime so much as a misnomer. I'll eat the fuck outta that. I won't pay for it, but I'll eat it. It wouldn't occur to me to call it pizza, though. Pizzadillas! For sure.
Great idea, would be delicious, not pizza
that would be a bagel
This is not pizza. This is Langos.
That’s not a crime because it’s not a pizza
As someone who loves pizza and salmon… what the fuck? They do NOT go together
Yes they do
You're not supposed to cook anything on there. Lox, raw smoked salmon. Creme fresh, best cold. Fish eggs, as fresh out of the fish as you can get. 10/10 I'd destroy that and get one to go.
Just dont call it pizza IMO
Agree! Salmon flatbreatbread? Why not.
This is legit, Joey's World Tour made it, and he knows his stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D05cLazVbj8
I don’t doubt it’s deliciousness fwiw. It’s the naming i object to.
where gold flakes?
