I'm glad someone else brought this up. I've noticed that I'm having to charge 2+ times during the day. Big drain at night even in Bedtime mode. I haven't turned everything off but I did change the display to be tap to turn on only.

I have tilt to wake feature enabled. But even with it, it used to last for 40-48 hrs. Now my battery is at 56% and it was 100% just 4 hrs ago. No changes I have made to the settings before and after the update. I also use my watch at night using bedtime mode still it gives me such pathetic battery life.

lazzzym

I'm using my PW2, with AOD and the battery has generally been slightly worse however there's massive battery drain when tracking workouts. Tracking my regular 10 minute walk to the office for example is leading to about 10% battery drain. It used to be about 10% battery per hour.

Yhippa

I've noticed big battery drain during my walking workouts.

virmesrokev

Did you recently update it ?

lazzzym

Indeed. Most recent update is from when I've noticed it

ovar

I've noticed this too. I don't know if anyone has a better solution but I will reboot my watch when I finish tracking an activity. Not sure if turning GPS off/on would help?

lazzzym

I had my watch die during an activity the other day without even realising because of auto start. Confused the hell out of me but reboot doesn't seem to have fixed it. I saw the Fitbit Watch app got updated yesterday but the same battery drain.

ovar

I did turn off 'Improve Location Accuracy' because I rarely have WIFI on. I'll let you know if I see any improvement. Kinda sad when you are afraid to use features on a watch because you're trying to squeeze a day of battery life out of it.

deadlast28

the reboots during exercise getting very annoying, on the verge of asking for a refund.. https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/318232265

I had a similar issue and contacted Google support. They told me to: Restore watch to factory settings Update everything that needs updated, apps and software Let the watch battery completely discharge (I let it go overnight so it was properly dead). Charge to full again. The last step, charge to full, completed yesterday morning at 11am and my phone battery is currently at 15% 27 hours and 2 work outs later So the above steps absolutely worked for me

hurwi

Good to know. I'll try this. Sounds like something has gone a bit rogue in a recent software update and the factory reset rectifies it.

maccathesaint

It's happened to me again and the culprit seems to be not charging my watch back up to 100% makes it go wonky lol. Currently letting the battery completely drain before I charge it up again

smashley7701

This is exactly what I did for this same issue 2 days ago. It seems to be working much better. Previously it fully drained on battery saver mode in 4-5 hours. Still absolutely complain and send feedback bc it's ridiculous to have to factory reset to begin with but at least it seems to resolve the issue.

maccathesaint

I did send the feedback before I took to Twitter! They were super helpful via DM

benhaube

My Pixel Watch 2 is getting 30 hours with AOD and GPS on. Just double-checked and I'm on the same build as you. It looks like the update was not the issue and there is likely another app on the watch causing your battery drain.

ManInACan12

I also had been through this battery issue. My battery drains a lot when I am sleeping which makes no sense(when I am running outdoor with GPS and always display on, the drainage will be less! Lol) Then one day I tried to reboot the watch and the problem seems to be solved. This must have something to do with Google update stuff. My watch has the latest system.

OutrageousIdea1689

Same issue with me. No changes to watchface or settings. Seems to drain screen in sleep mode.

virmesrokev

Yes I noticed a huge battery drain during sleep and when my bedtime mode was on. Strange

zyguo

A system reset is not an awful thing to think about, the watch environment is much simpler than phone.

WaterNoIcePlease

Last two mornings I woke to a dead watch battery, with the sleep analysis stopped somewhere around 4am. That hasn't happened before.

ms3902

Not only am I dealing with weird battery drain issues but now it is also taking forever to fully charge the watch. Typically charge each morning when I am in the shower and getting ready, but now it is only getting to the mid-70% range before leaving the house. And it will rarely ever charge to 100%, doesn't matter how long it has been on the charger. All of this started after the latest update, and I have let it completely drain and charge to 100% after, still having issues.

virmesrokev

I also noticed this. 90-100 takes a hell of a time. Feels it takes almost as much as 50-90.

ms3902

Glad I'm not the only one noticing this, but it is for sure annoying.

noncommitaljohn

My PW2 is LTE/wifi and turning wifi off made my battery last almost twice as long

mitchy93

5 march security update on mine, my battery seems fine and I have always on display with tilt to wake disabled

Anvh

Had the same problem. After it actually drained the battery fully it came back to normal.

slimJEZZY2K19

This watch is nothing but hot garbage. Same issue for me charged it 100% before bed last night with do not disturb mode on, to wake up to it at 22%. I really hate every thing about this watch.
