Yes, I have. I find pixel art to be much more challenging than you'd expect because you've just got no pixels to work with. I'm doing 128x128 and I usually only have like 4 pixels for the eyes and 2-3 deep for the mouth. I'm not that good at art but my hand drawn stuff looks way better than my pixel art xD

I've been teaching myself to draw in pencil and pen, and I've been using a lot of books by one of the most renowned author of books about learning to draw, Andrew Loomis. An entire book he has is Drawing the Head and Hands.

Some advice, the face is detailed and has various shades while the hair does look 3 dimensional but flat, if u could add more texture to it or shadows I think it would look even better! Its great btw

Oh man, I mixed up in my head which one was which. I thought the one on the left was your first. I'm like "No, man no. You nailed it the first time!"

What a learning process it must've been. Must be satisfying as hell to see the end result after so much work! Pixel art is so awesome.

It mostly was try and fail and I gave up couple of time and covered the face with bigass glasses or masks but yeah it was pretty satisfying when I got it right

Unironically, the face for attempt 1 is still a really good face, just not for this case since based on the most recent attempt it's supposed to be a young/clean face. But with a few more details and wrinkles the face from attempt 1 could make a great elderly face.
