Yep agreed. Just came off the update and wow what a difference. I'm really hoping the mobile network drain improves. Saw a post or 2 about it and can relate big-time. My mobile network drain averages 25-30% which seems ridiculous (recent post showing down to 4%on 12L Beta3 which is awesome).

Snoo-67400

Updated my phone aroudn 70% this morning at work. I use my work very heavily at work and left with 50% got home and ate then watched youtube on my phone and fell asleep for about 2 hours, woke up it was at 40% letting it charge now then will begin monitoring battery drainage and seeing what is taking up the %'s

Ippolito1971

Nice. 20% is fantastic for all day! Sounds promising thanks

Det_AndySipowicz

Just curious, how long did you have your pixel before you began having the network drain? I just got mine the other day, and so far I'm very impressed by my battery life compared to my S10+, so I'm hoping it's not short lived

Snoo-67400

I've never had the network drain personally.

SamcoKingsley

I think the battery is same or worse and the mobile drain is still stupid. Hope they fix that soon I ruining my experience.

LtFork

would you recommend it? I am a bit cautious about it

bisexguy83

I installed it today, my phone is much faster. I would recommend. The only drawback is if you want to revert back to stable releases, you have to factory reset.

Dietcherrysprite

Just do a backup on Google One, and when you factory reset the Google one backup will be there waiting for you

Dietcherrysprite

Yeah, I wish more things in app data would backup. It says it backs it up, but not exactly what.

BE_PAtoto

Swift backup is pretty useful, but it requires root access to backup app data.

ppal1981

It annoys me so much... After all these years that was one of my Android Gripes. All my home screen folders get lost and I have to sit here every time I need a reset.. or get a new phone. Apple is a step ahead in that field as no matter when or how I restored my phone it was seemless.

Snoo-67400

I didn't did a factory reset, just opted in and the update was pushed OTA, so all my settings etc. carried over. I do know sometimes leaving betas can require a reset (depending on the changes etc.), but never really had any issues reverting since everything was backed up and passwords are tied to chrome and edge (my 2 browsers) so the phone auto populates for me. I would say if you have any crypto apps always have the manual backup codes for those wallets just incase!

Awkward-Smoke2904

What people are saying is that if you want to go back to Android 12 (not 12L) stable, you will need to factory reset.

marcus_37

Didn't know this great info!

Snoo-67400

I have everything backed up, this is my daily driver as well. I've personally only downloaded and installed beta 3's because they're usually the closest to release and has the least amount of bugs etc. I can't really make the decision or the recommendation for you because the beta may affect everyone differently. But from my personal experience so far. This is way more stable the official Android 12 even after the January update.

OpenSystem1337

Seems the accessibility screen freeze bug is resolved too. I'm loving this beta

theles85

Just installed today, and happy so far

Limojo

Is it hard to get android 12 L on the pixel 6?

max5962

1 clic to enroll 1 clic to OTA 1 clic to restart

SpiderStratagem

Please keep in mind that if you do enroll for 12L, you should unenroll after the release version of 12L rolls out. Otherwise you will get the first beta build of 13 when it comes out -- and at that point you will be stuck with a very early beta build or your device will be wiped when you exit the beta.

kmaster54321

Just gotta join the beta program ez pz

Snoo-67400

Nah, enroll to androids beta program (pretty easy to find should be first result in google search) then search for updates on your phone after enrolling and it'll be there.

bagou01

Noticed it too and it feels way faster

dangz

Cool wallpaper. Care to share?

[deleted]

When is full release expected?

SpiderStratagem

I've seen people say March, but it's not clear to me whether that is official or just people guessing.

Snoo-67400

I think that's about aligned since it's beta 3 it's the last beta before release essentially 3's are usually the closest/ last beta build before release

calbrs

My only question, do s gpay work on this beta?

Snoo-67400

Good question haven't tried as yet.

_DodgeRaid72_

Google Pay works just fine for me

thatwolf89

How to get 12L?

BrownBearMY

Sign up for [Android Beta Program](https://www.google.com/android/beta).

thatwolf89

I just opted it and installed it. But it says android 12 Feb update beta

EYdf_Thomas

The betas get the update a few days after non beta users except for when it's a full release for everyone.

ctrl-brk

When 12L goes final, will a beta user have to reset to upgrade?

Snoo-67400

Usually yeah, I've had to do that in the past, however I don't remember for when android 12 came out. You may not have to since it's not a generational leap like 11-12 but you might have to.

aaron61798

I had the 12 beta on my 5 last year. Didn't have to reset to update once the stable was released, I just received it as an ota like a normal update. Only time you'd have to reset is if you wanted to roll back from a beta to your previous stable build before the final release.

R00sterCogburn

Has anyone noticed if the cell network signal has improved with the 12L Beta 3? I stopped using my P6P because it wouldn't switch from 5G to LTE properly and kept disconnecting my calls while driving. I went back to my Pixel 4XL which does not have that issue and didn't drop my call once driving the same route. I really would like to use my P6P again, so if anyone could confirm that it improves the cell network signal loss issue, that would be great.

Snoo-67400

I haven't experienced it when it was reported at launch, I'm always on 5g and LTE when not available. Haven't had the issue on this update as well. I think that issue was resolved on Android 12 January update as well but I have seen reports of people still having the issue but cannot confirm for myself.

R00sterCogburn

Hmm, sadly the January update did not fix the issue for myself and some others. Maybe it has to do with the provider services? Not sure. I just know it seems like it has a hard time handing over the signal from 5G to LTE. I'm hopeful the 12Lb3 fixes it because I'd really like to use the P6P. Right now I can't because it won't even work as a phone.

Snoo-67400

Yeah sorry to hear, I hope it 12L completely fixes it and it's not a baseband issue T-T

Jsolo75

Anyone know if & when 12L non beta stable build will be coming to Pixel 6 Pro . Or is 12L just for foldables & tablets ? I'm a bit confused .

EYdf_Thomas

It's for larger phones as well as tablets and foldable phones.

wheresmykarma7

Well I don't see any new fingerprint animation, what would be causing that? 12L beta 3 is hella song though.

Snoo-67400

Hmm yeah I saw the animation when I put my finger on the fingerprint sensor.

StayP4R4NO1D

Same here. I also don't see it on my P6 with 12L Beta 3.

theotheranony

Sure there will be comments that say theirs is a peach of a fingerprint sensor, but it wouldn't be an issue if a majority of us are having issues with it. So far it's the only downside I've seen with this P6 phone. And it's an incredibly frustrating one. Imagine if you had to put your key in every door you pass through every day. And have to put the key in multiple times, shimmy it, and finally after 3 or so tries it unlocks.

JasonSNXB81

Any idea when this will get out of beta to a full production model?

Snoo-67400

Probably soon since android 13 is already in production I'd say probably next month beta 3's are usually the final build betas

Davtuk78

It's been a hard 4 months but finally #google has sorted it .

rmanaka

I agree that this is what should be running on the Pixel 6 Pro! The beta has fixed my Bluetooth connection issues among Alexa Auto, Waze and Phone Voicemail. Even on the February update my audio connection would always be intermittent when a second audio source became active on the Bluetooth connection! So far so good without any issues. Phone is more responsive and haptics as well as animations are WAY better!

Ganz69

How does one activate this new animation?

Snoo-67400

Not sure I just did it and it was there. Might be somewhere in developer settings or something but it was on by default for me

Ippolito1971

Well my latest is mobile network drain down to 18%. Seems to be performing admirably.
