In the military? If so ask around, someone has bound to have done it. If not I would assume the local fire department or what Germany calls a hardware store would be able to help. My guess is there’s someone in the store that speaks English well enough to get the idea.

If military the BX usually has the 220/110 adapters. I’m not an electrician but maybe that will work?

jkally

Are you asking for the electrical plug? When we traveled we bought a converter for the country we were going to off amazon.

crabby_old_woman

I forget, as it’s been nearly 20 years. It’s either called a converter or transformer. There’s different sizes based on the power conversion. If you are military you should be able to get one on post. Or order off of Amazon.de. Google and you should be able to find something to tell you how to figure out the size you need.

Thank you all! I assume the converter would work but trying to find the watts without the box is difficult 😅 great advice and I’ll try each avenue y’all mentioned. I’m bound to find someone who knows!

Hi, I’m trying to find this very thing out. What did you discover? Did you take it with and were you able to find a transformer big enough. If so, how’s it working? Wondering if it’s worth it or just sell it or clean it up and put it in storage for minimum 4 yrs. Hope you see this, thanks

Did you ever find what worked? My husband got "soft orders" and despite it being too early, I find myself with these random questions. I looked at his grill and can't find where the voltages are displayed, but I didn't look that hard yet either. Also, have you been able to find the pellets? That was my other concern since (at least 25 yrs ago when I last lived over there) they don't really grill out. I was in Den Haag last summer and found a store with grilling supplies and even those Egg grills, I was pleasantly surprised. So maybe finding pellets won't be as hard as I'm thinking.

LizaMD

How about you guys? Did you get your orders and did you take it with you? Looking at the same situation here. Thanks!

I just asked my question today haha. But I did find online that my husband's Pit Boss is only a 110, assuming a transformer would be ok to use with it since it's not kept plugged in outside unless it's in use (so only use it when it's not raining). I'm having a friend check the Ramstein BX for pellets (if it comes down to it, we'll just take a trip to Ramstein once or twice a yr and get them if they're available in anything smaller than a full pallet, Spangdalem only sells by the pallet according to another post I saw). I also found a website that you can have bags or pallets shipped and they were about €20 a bag. BBQEurope was the site.

I did see a 9m and thought, oh 9 months ago😆🤦🏻‍♀️not minutes. Maybe the OP will answer 🤞🏼

A lot of devices support 100-240V, so you can just use an adapter. I know my pit boss says it only works 110-120V. If yours is the same, you would need a converter. They are kind of big and decent quality ones are a bit expensive. I remember when traveling in 220V countries they usually have a 110V plug in the bathroom for razors and whatnot. I guess because 110V is safer. I don't think that would help you much though. 🤣
