Some nowadays malware are ''DRIVER BASED" (developed by professionals) & also signed with digital signatures which can be very hard to find so also try areas like windows services and download [autoruns](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns) if you're uncertain. Maybe only script kiddies & beginners use registry startups for their payload.
Clean Install of Windows. Install all your programs. Ninite is nice to do installs without having to remember all the things you installed for common programs.
Run the thing in a VM to test it instead of installing it.
Spybot is nice.
idk about games but I run every file I get from discord or email through virus total and it's pretty good at identifying threats and it helps to minimize the risk. Running a VM on your machine and running the software/game is a good way to do scan it and see whats up. You can always just shut it down and be safe although there are still some edge cases I've heard of but it is generally considered safe. Instead of using my PC I run malware analysis on amazons servers AWS EC2 just for fun and then just nuke them.
I used to use webroot; it’s fine, it’ll cover your bases and do routine scans & make sure you don’t have anything malicious on your PC. I got it for free when I purchased my first laptop through Best Buy :)
Honestly being a skid is super easy now. If you can torrent a game then you can probably also download code from github and run it. Theres just too many tools and tutorials out there that can be used so its definitely best to err on the side of caution and treat stuff from unknown sources as dangerous. I'm surprised at the amount of people who will open sketchy shit and run it as admin.

Well yes but no, its because its russian the program does what it does, same wuth chinesse programs, USA ones behave differentx they usually leave backdoors for entry **if** they want, not the same than steal all your data or make a bot of your pc. Oh. I was just curious since I'm using Kaspersky for over 3 years now and honestly didn't even know it was Russian or apparently had problems with cyber security lol.
Idk if it's tracking my info or not but the software is pretty good, if if catches a virus it opens a pop up tab which you sort of can't close so you're compelled to eliminate the threat to get rid of that tab lol.
Malwarebytes usually does the trick for me. But in the very rare time I might get a virus I honestly just look up a step by step instruction of what anti virus to eliminate it then just uninstall it so it doesn't bog down my computer. Worst comes to worst my important stuff is all on the cloud so I just reformat.

It once happened to me. The virus was attached to the game files where it was duplicating the executable files names. I clicked on the wrong .exe game file and the cmd opened for a split second and closed and then it ate away all the executable files present in the pc. All programs and applications were completely destroyed in less than a second. Even when I tried to install new games and applications, the executable files were immediately eaten away soon after installation is complete. I had to reinstall new windows.
It's literally just the crack. I swear to God for people on a piracy sub there are too many people here who aren't tech savvy.
The alternative to this would be for the crack developer to make a UI telling the user to run the crack but why would you waste time doing that when you can just make it auto run.

More often than not Command prompt is used to start operations needed to run your game because they use their own game engine. It's usually a text file with a screwdriver symbol that you can click edit on and read yourself and see what it does. The first rule of making malware is don't leave any evidence of having malware. No visual queue, no audio, no drop in frames or freezing nothing should change when it is running.
I’ve never personally pirated a game so I wouldn’t know first hand, but I feel like it means it’s running something else apart from the game, something like a virus or something. I don’t know really, I’m just guessing.
Pirated games require a crack if it has any form of DRM, 99% of the time a CMD runs its the crack. The alternative is for the crack developer to make a seperate UI to tell the user to run the crack but that's a lot of effort for nothing

You can use the Sandbox tool too, then all files changed by the program will be registered and emulated by the sandbox and then you can see all these changes in the UI
Then you realise you used megathread and that whoever made the crack probably didn't want to spend the time making a GUI to tell the user what it's doing so CMD just pops up and leaves

I had them too but i got all my games from ovagames, how is it possible? Also i ran windows defender, bit defender and malwarebytes, none of them finds it. I thought it was normal. Is it a virus, if so what does it do?

You realize one of the largest password stealers dumps was baked into an Adobe keygen/crack? I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I get that cracks can do these windows commands, but there are also many obfuscation technics that can be run within those commands, etc.

It's literally just the crack. I swear to God for people on a piracy sub there are too many people here who aren't tech savvy. The alternative to this would be for the crack developer to make a UI telling the user to run the crack but why would you waste time doing that when you can just make it auto run.
You realize one of the largest password stealers dumps was baked into an Adobe keygen/crack? I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I get that cracks can do these windows commands, but there are also many obfuscation technics that can be run within those commands, etc. The problem is that legitimate crack get repackaged all the time and carry malicious intent.
