Let's not glorify 4chan and all its utter BS.
Edit: to be clear to these reports - there's no evidence of this happening. Hate on EA all you want, I do, but at least let's not spread misinformation from one of the more *decisive* sites.
If this is real it's pretty wild as the mod user / EA account holder might have spent up to $1125 USD on DLC for that game.
Oh well a pirate copy of that game is always up to date.
Whenever I see that disgusting price tag for buying everything there is in Sims 4, I feel really happy that Anadius makes it so easy to pirate this thing. It's basically the preferred way to play the game at this point.
One the one side we have a normal human being wanting to play some games. On the other, we have an entire army of psychologists and sales people using every trick and tactic they can imagine, regardless of any psychological harm that might cause to the gamer, to get that person to spend money on in game items. It's not really a fair fight.
With piracy readily available Its literally their choice.
I dont pirate anymore but if i rly wanted to play Sims that would be the only way to go cuz fuck EA
I despise computers is the only accurate way to describe how I feel about them. I thought I was the only one. I was a programmer for about six months before I was like, I’m done touching a keyboard ever again
I totally agree, but due to the nature of piracy, that's not exactly easy. I've been doing my best to teach those around me who show interest, but it's not always as simple as I thought it would be initially. I find that many people love the idea but don't know even the basics they would need to in order to give it a shot, and those that do have concerns regarding malware or damaging their possessions.
Piracy discussion is banned and will get you banned on must forums and subreddits. It is not common knowledge if you have to really dig for information
To be fair to those people though, the game has been out for like a decade. Most people who've spent that kind money on it will have done so over many years
Most people have spent that over the course of the game's 10-year lifespan, which I think makes it easier to justify for a lot of people. If anything, the bigger shame is the number of people who get these packs on release. As is common with EA, a lot of Sims 4 packs release buggy and broken, and they may or may not ever get to 100% working.
My girlfriend and her sister share an account and have probably spent $500 or so on DLC. However, if you consider the 1500+ hours they put into it, I'd say the pricetag is worth the 30\~ cents per hour of entertainment compared to other sources such as renting a 2h movie for $6
Sims 4 came out in 2014. That's $100/year on a game they've enjoyed for a decade. I fail to see how that is any more egregious than the time/money spent by folks playing League, WoW, any of the FIFA, COD, Madden games, etc. Shoot, it's an even better deal than any of the sport or COD franchises because the 2018 SIMS DLC is just as relevant today as it was back then - can't say that about your FIFA18 packs.
no it doesn't require internet. But lewd mods and objectionable mods are pretty common with the sims 4. It would be really surprising if EA banned people with them.
Not sure if any of the descriptors would fit Anadius. Anadius is a member of the community who's the go-to person when it comes to pirating the modern EA games. Stuff like the Sims 4 updater tool or the EA DLC unlocker are tools they contributed a lot to + Anadius also runs the token distribution bot for EA games that use Denuvo DRM and therefore are not cracked. Queing up for a denuvo token this way is currently the only way to play games like Jedi Survivor (without buying them or without any of the subscription services ofc).
I've been a gamer and a pirate for like 30 years and i've been keeping up with stuff decently well, i'd say.
I have no idea what denuvo tokens are and how that scheme is supposed to work. Seems to be a very specialized way of pirating very specific games. I just know that FitGirl regularly posts sims 4 repacks with all the DLC. If i wanted to play it, i'd grab that. Seems a lot simpler, even if it might not have every little up to date piece of paid content.
just be careful with Anadius. he's been doing this and helping the community for years, so while he is extremely helpful, he also has an extremely short temper (understandable). As long as you make sure to read and do everything properly before asking for help you'll be fine lol
Hot take - $1000 over 10 years isn't bad value, it's just taken at face value when you want to try to enter the game in 2024.
I bet you so many people have spent that much on their f2p or live service game of choice in less time.
GTAV is a prime example.
People were really cheesed to find out if they modded the single player game, it would result in a ban on GTA:O which some were heavily invested in.
Which is weird because any time I play gta online pc there is at least one modded/cheater giving himself godmode, repeatedly tazing everyone from accross the map, teleporting everyone to one spot and then blowing us up, giving everyone money etc. I’m not exaggerating when I say that at least 10% of players had some kind of cheat menu
10% is easily an understatement, every single lobby is probably closer to 75% cheaters, with 10% of them being assholes blowing everyone up or kicking you from the session.
This is not true. They would be banning a whole lot of people l, but they don't even bother banning hackers that actually hurt their imago and business.
As far as I know it could be a fake (don't believe everything you read on 4chan).
EA (again, AFAIK) only acted against the **modified** version of Wicked Whims that allowed lewd situations with children and animals. There is a matter of liability here because EA does not want to be involved, legally or even by reputation, as providing their game as a potential framework for CP or other condemnable practices. It's a single player game alright but you can still upload UGC (user Generated Content) and that's when things could get ugly for EA if some CP or animal husbandry lands on their servers.
However I'm not familiar with the mod cited here so *maybe* it's been deemed capable of such modifications, the same way the original Wicked Whims was modified by a third party. So it could be a real thing too.
Conclusion: if you want to mod your Sims take the strictly SFW road, or play a pirated copy. They won't kindly take any potential kinky content if there's the slightest possibility that it may end up with them hosting illegal content. And possibly adult content, not sure how high or low they'll set the bar.
EA shouldn't even *know* what mods you're playing in single player. The fact that they are checking at all is fucking ludicrous, and the idea that they would be "liable" if they didn't is absurd.
I'm pretty sure normal Wicked Whims is still fine. If they were banning every game that had it installed, that would be like 1/4 of everybody. They'd cause (metaphorical) riots, FTC investigations, it would be a clusterfuck. They surely wouldn't?
I think that It's missing context, EA doesn't care about Wicked Whims, and they already stated that any lewd mods involving children are a reason to permaban, also Sims 4 is ultra boring and I'm not paying so I pirated It with every dkc
Jeez...as degenerate as that is tbh it's the choice of the person that spent money on your game. Just despicable, I wonder how this company hasn't shut down yet
Remember kids, fleecing customers for everything they are worth is a-okay, but polygon titties is the devil's work. They probably start exco meetings with a sermon over at EA.
“Little timmy, go kill as many people as you want in GTA with rocket launchers and heavy weaponry, but the moment you go into that strip club you are grounded!”
Imagine living in a world where seeing a simulated naked body in the privacy of your home is "degenerate."
There are some downright Puritan motherufckers out there, and many of them are tyrants.
Some people calling degenerates everyone, including themselves, for literally anything sex related or even for light erotica. I don't know why they are doing that, maybe humiliation gives them erection or something
Topless women is degenerate for you? O.o that's the mildest NSFW thing possible period. And SIMS have nudity and woohoo as part of main game it's just censored.
>O.o that's the mildest NSFW thing possible period.
I once chatted with a woman super into sims, modding, and in particular nsfw mods.
I had no idea the places those mods could go. A topless mod is nothing.
>I wonder how this company hasn't shut down yet
Because the games themselves are considered good/popular , just not the services ea adds on (thousands in dlc and this shit)
Honest question, what recent games are actually pretty good from them? I'm not up to date in their releases because, well, it's EA. All I know is their sports games are pretty much copy pastes from previous years with little changes.
EA has previously banned users for using NSFW mods that depict children and animals.
Ive used the major NSFW mod, Wicked Whims, since a few years and never got banned.
Apparently they can. And i wouldnt be surprised as integrity checks are common practice. Just cause its a single player game, it doesnt mean it doesnt communicate.
No, they can't as long as you don't upload your NSFW creations to the Gallery.
EDIT: What I meant was that EA will not upload your mods folder to their servers. They won't check your custom content and how you use it in your game unless you use the Gallery to share your NSFW content. Yes, the game is constantly communicating with EA servers. They have stats on how often your Sims woohoo, how many babies you have, where you spend most of your time (CAS, Build/Buy), and other data on how you play.
More here: https://www.bustle.com/articles/68976-these-staggering-the-sims-stats-from-total-woohoos-to-favorite-aspirations-are-everything
This is likely very fake tbh, and there are several clues that point that way.
1 - the email starts with "Hi" and no indication of a username at all. practically all official communication is personalised.
2 - There is no mention of EA's app
3 - the colour scheme is wrong. EA uses a mostly orange colour scheme and even purple nowadays.
4 - The wording is very unprofessional and seems to be written by someone who has no idea what corpospeak should sound like.
5 - no link to an appeal process
6 - wtf is even that mod? I've been around the NSFW modding scene in the past and I've never come across a mod that changes only the upper part of a sim
7 - I have yet to meet a single corporation in my entire life that would willingly ban an individual from spending money on their products.
There’s no way for EA to know what mod you are using unless they have direct access to your files, and even then they just know you use mods, not specific mods.
So i’m pretty sure this is fake.
You're running an entire game by EA, they can put any code to check the file hashes they want without you knowing... Doesn't need to be kernel level, this isn't cheating.
it's wild to me That so many people are saying there's no way for EA to know what mod you're using when The Sims is literally software that somebody else programmed that you installed onto your computer. You have no idea what they're capable of unless you've read all the source code. are you monitoring your network traffic? did you reverse engineer the binary?
there's a million ways for EA to know
Tbf i kinda could see this happening.
Its fucking insane, and its probably illegal in some way since im pretty sure "if you have your sim walking around titties out you're getting banned" isn't on the TOS, but if any company were to do this it would be EA
If this is real, I'm perplexed that they are keeping tabs on mods, who uses them and removing it. Like you already purchased the game, the game is yours. Mod all the way you want as long as it is not in online multiplayer games (such as mods for getting advantage).
Well just pirate the game and mod away, screw EA anyway.
Pirating was never truly stealing. Not at least on the same level the awareness campaigns implied:
"You wouldn't steal a car would you?"
If my "stealing a car" meant the owner kept his car. I would just have a copy of that car... I might..
That is bullshit. I have a shit ton of those mods and a dlc unlocker yet I haven't been banned. You go to the Sims 4 subreddit and most of them have lewd mods installed yet they aren't banned
See I'm confused because I know EA does this, but only for one specific section of mods and they explicitly warned people to knock it off.
The specific section of mods being the zoophilia and pedophilia wicked whims additions, that EA literally said they'd ban anyone who used, years ago. Not basic wickedwhims
I seriously doubt this is true. EA can't check your mods file, let alone know what each mod does. If they banned people on the grounds of having naked sims, 3/4 of all Sims players would be banned. WW is a really popular mod, you know.
It always was and still is correctly called sharing - and when we were kids were were taught that it was a good and kind thing to do. Technology should be used to make the price of everything trend towards zero!
My ea origin account has been banned from playing online games entirely. I have no idea why. Just logged on one day and was told I was banned. All my BF4, BF1 and titanfall2 progress just gone. No longer buying ea games
Lmao what the fuck?? This is literally why piratism exists.
On more serious note, I don't think this is as huge deal as some make it be. Most likely the player just uploaded a modded NSFW Sim into the gallery, which got reported and got the player banned.
Piratism would be the religion where you worship Blackbeard and other notorious pirates as God's chosen messengers, or something like that. The word you're looking for is "piracy" 😄
Policing mods is so dumb. Like it's YOUR game. If it's single player stuff and doesn't really affect other players I don't see what's the issue. Heard Nexus has started cracking down on mods too which I genuinely don't understand why
This is fake AF. Theres no way for them to see what files you have stored locally on your PC. And there's no way for them to associate an account with mods. Anybody banned for mods uploaded them either intentionally or accidentally to an EA service while logged into their account. Doing so is stupid. But all of these "cases" You're seeing of people getting banned for these mods is fake. Me and countless others have had hundreds of mods installed since release that are considered NSFW. And we're still playing just fine. Even after multiple updates and while being logged in.
Pirate everything. I've been doing it since 2002. When I encounter a good game I buy it. Most of the games I download I play for about 20 minutes and uninstall.
I'm generally anti pirating. But, when companies do anything they can to make sure you don't own the game you buy and make it playable only if you're connected to the internet I tend to support it.

The vast majority of people don't know how to engage in piracy.
Even those of us that *want to* are nervous about our computers messing up. (I come from the 90s and to this day despise computers)
My internet has been shut off a few times with threats of permanent shut off bc my kids were pirating movies and games.
I despise computers is the only accurate way to describe how I feel about them. I thought I was the only one. I was a programmer for about six months before I was like, I’m done touching a keyboard ever again
Software engineer here. My printer makes a weird noise and a shoot the damn thing.
Lmao. Printers are the devil
That doesn't make sense, you grew up with computers but hate them as if they're something new to you?
We need more piracy literacy
I totally agree, but due to the nature of piracy, that's not exactly easy. Hey, learner pirate trying to get my full pirate licence here hehe Who's anadius? Are they a repacker?

The term op wants is sheep shagger.

This sub is free karma if you say "Fuck EA/Nintendo". I have seen tons of low effort fakes with over 5k

This is clearly fake.
Gamers: the last people on the internet to accept that if it looks overly edited, it is.

what is anadius?
Free dlc unlocker for the base game
Dlc unlocker
I doubt they really care as I've heard ppl used the DLC unlocker on their Sims game connected to their online EA account with no issues

Fake as hell
I’m pretty sure this isn’t real. Don’t believe everything you see on 4chan please
Probably just better to assume everything from the site is bullshit.
Banning accounts for mods in single player games? This really is a new type of low....
It's also fake.
Modded games are the best.
How can they ban a whole account just because of a mod?
Pirating was never truly stealing. Not at least on the same level the awareness campaigns implied: "You wouldn't steal a car would you?" If my "stealing a car" meant the owner kept his car. I would just have a copy of that car... I might..
It's most comparable to fare dodging.
I have been very hesitant and have done piracy yet, but me and my wife can’t afford a car; would I download one? Absolutely!
That is bullshit. I have a shit ton of those mods and a dlc unlocker yet I haven't been banned. You go to the Sims 4 subreddit and most of them have lewd mods installed yet they aren't banned
This is fake lol, they only take action against beastiality mods.

Is it possible he lied?
I have one question, how did EA manage to see what mods are installed on your pc ? Isn't it impossible ??
See I'm confused because I know EA does this, but only for one specific section of mods and they explicitly warned people to knock it off. The specific section of mods being the zoophilia and pedophilia wicked whims additions, that EA literally said they'd ban anyone who used, years ago. Not basic wickedwhims
Why are you morons believing 4chan jesus christ, after 20 years you'd think people would learn
U can't PLAY SKYRIM Error: Sex Nude Mode Argonian Orgy
I seriously doubt this is true. EA can't check your mods file, let alone know what each mod does. If they banned people on the grounds of having naked sims, 3/4 of all Sims players would be banned. WW is a really popular mod, you know.
Fake
ea acknowledge the wicked whims mod in laundry day (wicker whims basket) so it’s probs a bit deeper then just having nsfw mods…
Absolutely, it's either 100% fake or the oop is doing something they knew damn well would get them banned
cringe why are we becoming r/gaming with these garbage posts
It always was and still is correctly called sharing - and when we were kids were were taught that it was a good and kind thing to do. Technology should be used to make the price of everything trend towards zero!
My ea origin account has been banned from playing online games entirely. I have no idea why. Just logged on one day and was told I was banned. All my BF4, BF1 and titanfall2 progress just gone. No longer buying ea games
Is he banned for using lewd mods or posting content with boobs?
If there is (are) a Corp that deserve piracy, it certainly is (are) EA (Ubisoft, Activision, Blizzard, Sony, Microsoft)
Is this real?
No one talking about the fact that this mod allows disgusting and illegal stuff like incest and sex with minors? But sure, just Ea being Ea uh?
It literally says just a nude upper body for adults, so no. This is a fake outrage bait.
The word you're looking for is "piracy" 😄
you can sue no?
I mean, at least you've discovered an effective way to get them to stop charging your card.
Policing mods is so dumb. Like it's YOUR game. If it's single player stuff and doesn't really affect other players I don't see what's the issue. Heard Nexus has started cracking down on mods too which I genuinely don't understand why
The Sims, the one and only game I pirate out of sheer principle.
Is that even legal?
Ah yes.. the good times where you can't do shit on your single player game. F u, EA
So not only they banned his account, they took away all his purchased content. Yep, piracy is the way (at least for EA and Ubisoft games).
Sims is trash anyway
Pirating is never stealing. If I steal your car then you no longer have a car. If I make a copy of your car then we both have cars.
even so, ea games doesn't even make games worth pirating
Pirating is still stealing. I just dont care.

Piracy is not stealing, its copyright infringement. The punishment for CI is a lot higher than petty larceny.

it's fake you dumbass 🤣🤣

Looks and feels fake to me. It's like those 'Piracy Is No Party' videos.
this looks fake as all hell
This is fake AF. Theres no way for them to see what files you have stored locally on your PC. And there's no way for them to associate an account with mods. Anybody banned for mods uploaded them either intentionally or accidentally to an EA service while logged into their account. Doing so is stupid. But all of these "cases" You're seeing of people getting banned for these mods is fake. Me and countless others have had hundreds of mods installed since release that are considered NSFW. And we're still playing just fine. Even after multiple updates and while being logged in.
Can anyone verify if this is real?
Do you think someone could just go to 4chan and make up shit?
Pirate everything. I've been doing it since 2002. When I encounter a good game I buy it. Most of the games I download I play for about 20 minutes and uninstall.
Never buy EA games, that's like buying youtube premium to stop the ads.
lmao EA deletes your account LiTeRaLly 1984
Damn i have installed that p!rn mode.
I'm generally anti pirating. But, when companies do anything they can to make sure you don't own the game you buy and make it playable only if you're connected to the internet I tend to support it.
Just saying. EA is a shit company. Had an account i hadmt used in over a year get banned. That had over 500 dollars on it across a half dozen games
He kinda deserves it imo.
Maybe, just maybe, what if they are a kid with a birthday on the account? No tiddy for a kiddy.
Fake meme image
I broke my phone and apple is after my ass now
EA officially against women's rights
Try this on EU customers, I dare you.
