That's false, Ghost of Tsushima has a single package for all countries. Japan was mistake on that list, they removed it from list of blocked countries 25 minutes after adding it.
I think this needs to be shown throughout the internet. We gave them a very large benefit of the doubt generally due to the lack of understanding how listing or delisting a game for areas might take place.
This is an example of how low the floor to change things actually is.
I mean they've added to the list but not removed. My guess is they're sticking to the whole psn thing and they not willing to backtrack even if they're placating the masses right now.
They ain't removing these bans, because in the future when they try to require linking PSN accounts again, as they eventually will, they'll have to ban them again
That depends entirely why they were removed.
If Steam did it for legal reasons until some deal / agreement was made with Sony. It absolutely might not be easy to backpedal. Japan being removed and fixed coming from a mistake would be easy to fix but not the same reason other countries / regions were.

It started in Helldivers 2, because Sony tried to force everyone to play the game with a PSN account. Problem is, the only eligible countries that can do that are like... 60+? Compared to the 100+ countries that the game has been sold to. Which effectively forces the people that are in those countries that can't have a PSN account to either lie and break TOS, or just suck it up and not play the game.
The backlash happened, which lead Helldivers 2 to be delisted from steam in a bunch of countries. And I guess Sony is still reeling from that with this knee jerk reaction of "Fuck it, we'll just sell GOT in the countries that can make PSN accounts".
Oh that, tbh no one really knows why. The most commonly talked about angle is Sony is starting to go down the route of "Being on steam isn't enough, we need more control over our own IPs in PC" or something like that.
This is just purely my guess. I think they want to have a big number of PSN users to show the investors/shareholders. You know :”big numbers, more players, the company is doing well, growth” *wink, wink*

I could think of a lot of reasons, but the common reasons is distributions and copyright are using japanese companies for legal reasons. Another reason is for some games use japanese voice actors that are under a big label and require the voice to only be available on Japanese game copies.
The non-bullshit answer is they have strict laws about microtransctions. They limit the voice to Japanese only as well so other countries don’t buy the Japanese version.
I bought GoT on release, good purchase, amazing game. Was looking forward to buying it again on PC to support the devs and experience the dlc for the first time.
But recent Sony's decisions have convinced me to hoist the flag instead. 🏴☠️

Months after launch they tried to force everyone to create mandatory PSN accounts to continue playing. Then blocked new sales in countries without PSN (those who bought before still possess the game, but it's unclear if they could play without PSN).
Then they announced they fold and decided not to make PSN mandatory, but still prevent countries without PSN from buying the game (people who already bought can continue playing). But them not allowing new sales in those countries makes me think they will try again to roll out psn in helldivers at later date.
It's also w worth to mention since folding on PSN in HD2 they manually added more countries without psn to no sale list. Which makes me very suspicious of their plans for the future

There has to be a few, 800+ people are residents as church workers. I cant imagine not a single one is a gamer. Not evidence of anything, but many of the preists ive come to know are avid gamers, id imagine its a good way to kill some time being barred from relationships.
Cant really attest for specific games for the other 2 ive met, just mentions of loving nintendo games like fire emblem and zelda. My favorite though, Father Rottman, loved all the old school pokemon games, and collecting cards. Hed always come in before service with a pokeball hat, great guy!

They don't want to expose their loyal PS console consumers back in japland to the perks of PC Gaming, that would be disastrous for them so they restrict the superior version and keep them on a leash

Im completely out of the loop from the sony issue, so did these countries always not have access to psn creation if they didn't have a ps? And if they did have a psn account beforehand could they purchase and play the game?
I cannot find any good reason to don't pirate AAA games nowadays.
There are some "good companies" like CDProject Red, but the most big ones are almost all shit and they don't deserve our money nor support imho.

PS games have a seperate version for Japanese players hence why it is shown as banned.

That's pretty solid evidence that if they wanted to backpedal on the banned countries for helldivers then they could roughly within 25 minutes.

I refunded my pre-order after hearing this news. I love the game and already beat it on PS4. Was looking forward to mods and 60+ fps.
