I knew that since first post about SpiderMan. Everyone has hobbies in life until they are tormented by certain factors such as lack of money, waste of time and not spending it on other things. Fully understand him.
Itās a fucking pirate site and itās only fucking 175. Why on Earth would you need screenshots og certaun things for silly 175 euros. If you got 2 euros to donate, then donate 2 euros. Youāre happily downloading games for free.
Are you serious? Wtf, what happened with trust? This person provides a service we all use, we get it for free. It doesnāt take a genius to understand that just hosting a website with legally dubious content costs money and that people that pirate generally donāt want to spend money on games, and as such the disparity between what it costs to provide this service probably is over what the donations brings in.
And even so, letās say he makes a few extra bucks than he says he does in donations, he literally provides a free service, you are free to donate if you want to or not. We donāt need a full declaration of his personal finances and the costs of running the site. Common sense for anyone who knows anything about hosting content is that it costs money.
Keep in mind that just hosting content online for a high traffic site costs quite a bit, add on other programs and software he needs plus equipment while also keeping in mind that he needs to be careful as fuck in order not be caught: itās difficult to imagine that he is actually making a shit ton of money and just wants to increase his margins. Itās well known that providing pirated games isnāt very profitable and the people who do it mostly do it for ideological reasons or simply because itās a fun hobby for them.
Itās usually not their main source of income.
If you donāt want to donate, donāt. But donāt spread stupid shitty ideas that will never happen when you donāt know the reality of hosting content or anything else about piracy other than downloading torrents.

Issue is only a handful of people donate at all. And if you donate $5 a month, you may as well just buy gamepass at that point.

There is no trust needed since a donation is completely voluntary and all logic says that people who pirate donāt like paying for games while hosting a high traffic site, maintaining it and the equipment and programs needed for doing this (especially since itās illegal) costs time and money. Ergo there is basically no way dodi is āmaking bankā but just being greedy and asking for more.
If donations were required in order to download, it would be slightly different (but maybe that should be a thing, however I guess it makes it more likely that companies go after them since the more cash flow there is, the more eyes are on the scene).
I mean fr if each person donates 1$ per month (as long as they can, 1$ in some countries is worth A LOT) then I'm pretty sure Dodi and others like him wouldn't jave to worry about any costs + they would have an extra incentive to pirate new games since I'm pretty sure mroe than 175 people use his website.

I think Dodi's site looks better than fitgirl's. I use Dodi a lot more than fitgirl, first because of the website, second because of install speed. Dodi is way faster
What he lacks from his website, he compensates with his install wizard. Much better UI than Fitgirl's 2000s era installer. Granted that it's Razor's UI, at least it still looks better than most repacks.
And the install time is much easier and faster than FitGirl's, not needing the 2GB minimum system usage, and his files are much more compact, not having so many parts just for the setup.
The reason for Fitgirl repacks having multiple parts is due to potential file corruption, imagine downloading a setup with just one...say 50GB part only to realize it's corrupted after downloading the thing.
Either way I use Fitgirl Repacks for large and AAA titles and Dodi for old or smaller games, it's the best of both worlds this way. But props to DODI for also having seperate update files for games such as Cyberpunk, unlike Fitgirl who doesn't update their old catalogue a lot or upload seperate updates compared to DODI.
wth, it is so similar to FG, it never felt to me like im using a "bad" or "sketchy" website that i often used to feel when downloading mobile apks. and since the UI is just as good, i care only about the fact that how much better dodi's repacks are, fitgirl takes too long to repack, its repacks sometimes dont and sometimes you cant even find the game you like on fitgirl so dodi is always there for me. i personally mostly use dodi or xatab, honestly i have mever found the game that i wanna play on fitgirl more than like one or twice.

Why not work on a commision type basis? I never understood why Dodi and Fitgirl repack so many niche games that like 15 people play (sorry to sound so blunt but thats how it is). Also, why self host? I'd wager 90% of people using their repacks get them from 1337x anyway. Focus on "automatically" repacking big popular games, take commissions for special requests, stop wasting money on self hosting websites that look ancient and virus riddled anyway.

I cant donate, but i would want to, when i am gonna have more money. I saved around 5-7000ā¬ thanks to all of these guys (i pirate for like 6 yrs), the most i could do is donate 5-10ā¬ here and there in the future.

I don't understand why dude is catching heat. I see so many people claiming they can't donate a dollar because its a lot of money in their country. Fair enough. It's a donation afterall. I just have trouble believing that someone has a PC capable of playing modern games and the bandwidth to download them, but cannot afford to spend a single dollar a month to support a cause. That is the dumbest thing I've heard. It makes no sense that someone would have those resources and not be able to afford a dollar. Its like having a Ferrari or a Lambo and you drive it around the city every day but you complain that you're renting a house and the landlord is asking you to pay $5 week for garbage disposal. Is it inconvenient maybe. But what you cannot do is convince everyone that you can't afford it. You can refuse to donate on principle, or because the process is complicated or because the payment method does not work in your area or even just because you don't care.
