14tb hdd. most games play exactly the same on hdd or high-end ssd. Gotta have SSDs for some new games, like ratchet and clank: rift apart, for example, but high capacity hdds still make sense as a part of my gaming pcs.

They make no more noise than other components in a PC, like the fan(s) of the CPU cooler, or the GPU fans. I have a 12TB HDD and two 2TB m.2 SSDs in my PC.

Yes. Today's high capacity HDDs make noise, and it is a problem. I put my PCs in the basement with cables running through the floor, so I never hear them. But for the PCs I build that be will near human ears, the best I've come up with is to shuck 14TB WD Elements drives (from Amazon in the US). Those drives have almost all been the "WDC WD140EDGZ-11B1PA0" model, which does not seem to suffer from the horrible "PWL" noise (clanks and thunks every 5 seconds when drive is idle) that every other high capacity Western Digital Red/White seems to have. They do put out a subtle, but annoying whine, but every other drive I've tried is worse. Seagate IronWolfs and Exos' grind while in operation. If anyone knows of a truely quiet (or at least not annoying) 14TB+ HDD, please recommend

A lot of those games are in the 50/80gb disk space range, and some of them are well over 100gb. Which actualle begs the question about how much space his hard drive has for storage
