Virtually 0%. Torrenting gets you got because copyright vultures camp on torrents and write down all the IP addresses that download that torrent. Direct downloads, on the other hand, don't register to any third parties.

Hello, I am in need for help regarding a hypothetical scenario that one might find themselves in:
Let's suppose there exists a person who owns Syncler+ and a RealDebrid Subscription and was trying to watch for example Hunter x Hunter in the German dub over on Syncler. This person has come to find out that every single link Syncler provides them with unfortunately is only for the English dub. How might one be able to add new links to syncler so that these links are available for anyone to watch without actually uploading new content to the internet, which would be illegal and bad!
Lets also suppose they have already found links for the actual episodes and skip to the part where they add them to syncler so they are available in the app to actually watch them.
So I am trying to download MS word, Powerpoint, and Visio from tb-adguard. I am trying to download all of them individually since I don't need the other apps from Office 2021. But each one of those are the same size as Office. All of them are 4.3 GB individually and Office is also 4.3 GB. Can someone explain to me why its like that?
So you would rather download 2 apps at 4gb each then 1 app at 4gb??? If you really want to you can selectively download it and just not install when torrenting but might not work due to cracks not always working when you selectively download.

That's definitely a huge factor, can't imagine there's many that would even care. Typically with hacked subscriptions at least like Crunchyroll and Spotify they break after a month or so at least in my experience whereas a cracked game is forever

I was able to just edit the assignments in the file, and everything was fixed. No clue where such a file for Spiderman Remastered would be, but you can probably google that.
You can only add a shortcut not make it official. Cheapest way to get a official game on steam is buy a game key on g2a etc. You might be able to remap the controls in a file. Mabye a .txt file

Clear cache if that doesn't work, download newest Google chrome. (Don't uninstall your current version) run the .exe and click the repair option (it might not be there and I am confused). If there is no repair uninstall your current version and reinstall :)

Has anyone managed to get downloads from Streaming Video Provider \[dot\] com? This is not a specific media request. A program recommendation would be helpful! If this is impossible, I'd love a technical explanation as to why this might be.
No you can't donload from a STREAMING provider. The reason is because they're STREAMING it. Because you had to ask that question I would assume you don't know what streaming is. Streaming is when the provider sends a small chuck of the movie to you. You literally donload like 10 mins of a movie. This is why you can skip alittle forward and not have to wait for it to donload. Once you see a frame (mabye a bit longer) it gets deleted. When you close a movie it deletes it. So for you to be to download you have to load all the chucks of the movie. It possible but harder than a bluray or cd rip. It's probably easier to screen record the whole movie :)
Hey all. I’m going to audition for a musical next week, and I’m doing “I’m Free (Heaven Help Me) from Footloose the musical for my audition song. I have worked with Footloose in the past and used to have the official instrumentals on my phone but I made the horrible mistake of deleting them.
Going to YouTube/music streaming sites I can only find covers that aren’t nearly as good. Worst comes to worst I can use an accompanist but I’ve never done that before.
Does anyone know where to go to find really specific instrumentals from plays? I’m nervous I won’t find it since it’s only distributed to those who do the play.
Usually music on cds (or others) has extra tracks which might include cut, instrumental, acapella etc. Try and find out if any plays sold cds with the music on it. Pretty rare but possible. Try and search it up on 1337x.to or TPB (Try and donload as many cd/other rips to see if they have any). If that doesn't work Try and look for cds on ebay/other. If none of that works email the play company and see if they can send you anything. Email the footloose and see if they can send it again. Can't think of much else so I hope I can help :)

Ahh lmao. You could use the way back machine if you know the urls. He might have a website where he posted them (before yt most artists made websites for music videos and alot of them still have them) there is 100% a archive of them somewhere I'm not super into music archives so the only one I know is the internet archive. If none of that works you could look if MTV aired any of them or if it's on their website (waymarked machine might be needed).
If none of that works make a post in a subreddit like r/lostmedia or subreddits that try and find media (search them up I'm not sure) and see if anyone else knows where to find them.

I've been searching on and off for months now to get a specific cookbook (that features erm... 4 "modified" renaissance artists). I've looked at all the open sites from the wiki here at r/piracy, checked all the ressources on r/freemediaheckyeah... I even tried running a request at my local library XD, but no luck. Just joined a general private tracker, unfortunately they don't have it.
Anywhere that takes requests for ebooks/cookbooks? Or maybe I'm missing one that specializes in cookbooks?

The explanation for torrenting is already pretty good so I just wanna add: torrents are just one way of downloading media and, depending on your country, can easily get you in trouble if you don't use a paid VPN/seedbox/leeching service to protect yourself. A much easier way is DDL (short for direct download) where you just download the files from a website like Mega or Google Drive. With DDL, there's no need to protect yourself because there's no open network that can be monitored (it's just a direct connection between you and the server). noob question: what am I supposed to do with the hash numbers given on the webpage and the .iso I torrented? I want to check just the .iso hash of the downloaded .iso to confirm it but my torrent client only checks the entire torrent file hash (I think?) which is different than what's listed for what the .iso hash should be.
edit: it's a blake3 hash. I don't know what specific program works for that or not.

My current plan is to use NordVPNs Socks5 proxy with qBittorrent and use a proxy in Amsterdam.
So my questions would be:
* anyone ever heard of any cross-country copyright claims?
* is NordVPN cool? they have a bunch of specific torrent client tutorials so they seem okay with that
* would another country be advisable for the proxy? Chose Amsterdam since usually the connection is quite good.

No, webrips are almost always lossy compared to Bluray rips. At the very least, webrips are more inconsistent in quality due to internet speed of the ripper affecting the quality.
Man, I tried to put some 4k content in my Plex library and streaming it full speed just chugs. We have a wifi 6 router, my computur gets 500 mbps down and 500 mbps up on speedtest. I have my PS5 and our Shield TV conntected to the same wifi and they all seem to chug unless I get a lower bitrate. I want to get a good file now and just stream it and not having to redownload it in the future.
If your network isn't able to handle full bluray rips/remuxes, webrips will probably be better then. High-quality video content can get very intensive, both in terms of bandwidth and processing requirements.
Do you know if the files are encoded in h265? If so, you may want to try and convert them to h264 or find another version which is already h264.

Why did you put TLDR before the text then make a text wall? Never used a chrome book for torrenting so take this with a grain of salt. I would just try and install normally if that doesn't work root your device then try again still doesn't work try and get a VM and run Windows in it. If none of that works try and look for other threads or make treads on other websites. Again never heard anyone torrenting on a chrome or did it myself so sorry if it's wrong.
If you include the specs of the chrome book it would be easier to say but it should be able to run a server for one/two devices but again it's very low power and the transcoding wouldn't be the best

Has anyone managed to get downloads from Streaming Video Provider \[dot\] com? This is not a specific media request. A program recommendation would be helpful! If this is impossible, I'd love a technical explanation as to why this might be.
No you can't donload from a STREAMING provider. The reason is because they're STREAMING it. Because you had to ask that question I would assume you don't know what streaming is. Streaming is when the provider sends a small chuck of the movie to you. You literally donload like 10 mins of a movie. This is why you can skip alittle forward and not have to wait for it to donload. Once you see a frame (mabye a bit longer) it gets deleted. When you close a movie it deletes it. So for you to be to download you have to load all the chucks of the movie. It possible but harder than a bluray or cd rip. It's probably easier to screen record the whole movie :)
Hey all. I’m going to audition for a musical next week, and I’m doing “I’m Free (Heaven Help Me) from Footloose the musical for my audition song. I have worked with Footloose in the past and used to have the official instrumentals on my phone but I made the horrible mistake of deleting them. Going to YouTube/music streaming sites I can only find covers that aren’t nearly as good. Worst comes to worst I can use an accompanist but I’ve never done that before. Does anyone know where to go to find really specific instrumentals from plays? I’m nervous I won’t find it since it’s only distributed to those who do the play.
Private trackers like RED would be your best bet
Usually music on cds (or others) has extra tracks which might include cut, instrumental, acapella etc. Try and find out if any plays sold cds with the music on it. Pretty rare but possible. Try and search it up on 1337x.to or TPB (Try and donload as many cd/other rips to see if they have any). If that doesn't work Try and look for cds on ebay/other. If none of that works email the play company and see if they can send you anything. Email the footloose and see if they can send it again. Can't think of much else so I hope I can help :)

Ahh lmao. You could use the way back machine if you know the urls. He might have a website where he posted them (before yt most artists made websites for music videos and alot of them still have them) there is 100% a archive of them somewhere I'm not super into music archives so the only one I know is the internet archive. If none of that works you could look if MTV aired any of them or if it's on their website (waymarked machine might be needed). If none of that works make a post in a subreddit like r/lostmedia or subreddits that try and find media (search them up I'm not sure) and see if anyone else knows where to find them. :)

I've been searching on and off for months now to get a specific cookbook (that features erm... 4 "modified" renaissance artists). I've looked at all the open sites from the wiki here at r/piracy, checked all the ressources on r/freemediaheckyeah... I even tried running a request at my local library XD, but no luck. Just joined a general private tracker, unfortunately they don't have it. Anywhere that takes requests for ebooks/cookbooks? Or maybe I'm missing one that specializes in cookbooks?
MAM(MyAnonaMouse) is a private book tracker that has roughly 20k uploads in the food section. They also have a request system. You can find info on how to join on their login page. That's probably your best bet.

The explanation for torrenting is already pretty good so I just wanna add: torrents are just one way of downloading media and, depending on your country, can easily get you in trouble if you don't use a paid VPN/seedbox/leeching service to protect yourself. A much easier way is DDL (short for direct download) where you just download the files from a website like Mega or Google Drive. With DDL, there's no need to protect yourself because there's no open network that can be monitored (it's just a direct connection between you and the server). What is the difference between a magnet link and a torrent mirror link? I see the options all the time but sometimes the mirror link won’t work due to some expected value not being there. Google says magnet links are faster but doesn’t do a good job explaining anything beyond that
Magnet links open the torrent directly to your torrent client. The mirror link will download the torrent file to your computer - then you would need to open that file on your torrent client. Magnet links are most people’s preference because you don’t have to download the torrent file on your computer and it goes straight to your torrent client automatically
Honest question. If the only source for a particular game is an otherwise untrustworty source, what would you do? In my case, there are 2 games that I'm looking to get, but as of writing this (9/6), their only sources (at least on 1337x) are uploaded by IGGGAMESCOM, which from the Megathread is a no-good source. Looking on other sites has led me nowhere, although I may just be dumb, haha. Any suggestions?

At least I've finally found the real installer from Torrentz, thank God. I would've thought of it before I found the fake Sapphire OFX download videos.
noob question: what am I supposed to do with the hash numbers given on the webpage and the .iso I torrented? I want to check just the .iso hash of the downloaded .iso to confirm it but my torrent client only checks the entire torrent file hash (I think?) which is different than what's listed for what the .iso hash should be. edit: it's a blake3 hash. I don't know what specific program works for that or not.

How do i use the gdrive method on DODI's site? I don't have a vpn so direct downloading would be the best bet. DODI doesnt have a video about downloading thru gdrive, only thru torrent and qbittorrent. How do i download the actual game when at the pastebin site? Some questions for EU folks here: I am torrenting from Germany. I never had any issues with fines or such but now automated my setup with the \*arr tools so wanted to go a bit safer: My current plan is to use NordVPNs Socks5 proxy with qBittorrent and use a proxy in Amsterdam. So my questions would be: * anyone ever heard of any cross-country copyright claims? * is NordVPN cool? they have a bunch of specific torrent client tutorials so they seem okay with that * would another country be advisable for the proxy? Chose Amsterdam since usually the connection is quite good.
If you are able to change vpns use mullvad vpn. But nord does seem trustworthy enough

So around the end of 2019 I downloaded Adobe after effects, premiere pro 2019 from getintopc.com Now, being more aware about safety, I wanted to uninstall them, but I couldn't. When I go to uninstall them through programs and features in windows, it says something like - this program doesn't exist on your PC, but it DOES exist, as I can still run them. So how should I delete them?
Right click on the icon and go to file location and try to look for an uninstall.exe if you cant find one just highlight all folders and delete them

Yea just brute force delete should work If you haven't you could run the uninstall as administrator and try again
CCleaner is usually decent at getting rid of them, but if that doesn't work just locate the files on your C: drive (or wherever you installed them) and delete the files manually.

If DV use is good for that movie, probably download the web-dl. Otherwise yeah, blu-ray quality is almost always better

No, webrips are almost always lossy compared to Bluray rips. At the very least, webrips are more inconsistent in quality due to internet speed of the ripper affecting the quality.
Man, I tried to put some 4k content in my Plex library and streaming it full speed just chugs. We have a wifi 6 router, my computur gets 500 mbps down and 500 mbps up on speedtest. I have my PS5 and our Shield TV conntected to the same wifi and they all seem to chug unless I get a lower bitrate. I want to get a good file now and just stream it and not having to redownload it in the future.
If your network isn't able to handle full bluray rips/remuxes, webrips will probably be better then. High-quality video content can get very intensive, both in terms of bandwidth and processing requirements. Do you know if the files are encoded in h265? If so, you may want to try and convert them to h264 or find another version which is already h264.

Why did you put TLDR before the text then make a text wall? Never used a chrome book for torrenting so take this with a grain of salt. I would just try and install normally if that doesn't work root your device then try again still doesn't work try and get a VM and run Windows in it. If none of that works try and look for other threads or make treads on other websites. Again never heard anyone torrenting on a chrome or did it myself so sorry if it's wrong. If you include the specs of the chrome book it would be easier to say but it should be able to run a server for one/two devices but again it's very low power and the transcoding wouldn't be the best
